Chapter 402 You're Still So Shy
Andrew glanced up and gave a faint smile. "Got a meeting first thing tomorrow!"
Frederick nodded. As a dude, he got where Andrew was coming from. Otherwise, he wouldn't wanna part ways with Chloe and Gavin.
He then turned to Charlotte who looked all reluctant.
He knew Charlotte treated Chloe like gold and loved Gavin like her own kid, so he gently said, "Go upstairs and throw on something warmer. We'll go see them off."
Charlotte was head over heels for Frederick, flaws and all.
But she never thought he'd be this thoughtful.
She softly replied and headed upstairs.
Frederick gave Lola a light pat on the butt. "Go upstairs and keep your mom company. Don't let her cry."
Lola followed her.
Her little curly hair sparkled under the crystal chandelier.
Andrew liked it and felt a pang of envy.
He envied Frederick for having four kids and still being in his prime, able to make Charlotte so happy. But he'd been hustling all his life and couldn't give the girl he liked much.
Frederick noticed Andrew's look and smiled faintly. "Andrew, you're not usually this mushy!"
Andrew felt a bit better.
Charlotte came down in her coat. As she reached the stairs, Frederick went over to help her.
Once down, he tied her scarf for her.
He'd just bought her a new LV scarf last week, with a soft color and material that he thought suited Charlotte.
Charlotte reached out to stop him. "That's enough, or it'll be too tight."
Frederick grinned at Andrew. "She's hard to please!"
To see Chloe and Gavin off, even the most pampered Lola was brought along. Late at night, a few luxury cars cruised down the road. Frederick, worried his wife would get tired, let her lean on his shoulder.
Lola sat beside them.
With her mom around, Lola wasn't the most pampered baby anymore.
Charlotte leaned on Frederick's shoulder and softly said, "Frederick, Chloe's a year older than me. Why do I feel like I'm marrying off a daughter?"
Frederick lightly tapped her cheek. "Aren't you embarrassed? How old are you?"
Charlotte suddenly blushed.
When they got intimate, sometimes Frederick would call her "baby" when he was in the mood.
Charlotte found it embarrassing.
Frederick probably thought of that too, his lips lightly pressed together, but he still remembered there was a kid in the car.
Half an hour later, the car stopped.
It was pretty late, but the Hawkins Mansion was still lit up.
Chloe stood at the entrance with Gavin, under the warm yellow light, looking soft.
Andrew paused slightly as he got out of the car. He gazed at the woman he loved.
Chloe did the same.
At this moment, her past struggles seemed almost forgotten, leaving only anticipation for the future.
With others around and Andrew's status, he naturally needed to keep it cool.
Nathan noticed the heavy vibe.
He immediately lightened the mood, stepping forward to give Gavin a gift.
Chloe softly said, "Say thank you."
Gavin, in his soft voice, said, "Thank you."
Nathan patted his little head and smiled. "Your dad's got an even bigger gift for you!"
Gavin didn't see Andrew often and was a bit shy.
At this moment, Andrew came over, picked up his son, and said in a low voice, "I'll give it to you when we get home! Your grandma's still up, waiting for you."
Gavin admired him. Because Lola had said, his dad was amazing.
Being treated gently by his dad, he shyly leaned on his shoulder, his little face slightly red.
Andrew gave Gavin's head a gentle pat and locked eyes with Chloe.
Their gazes met, emotions swirling.
Patrick waved his hand and said, "Alright, hurry up and pack your bags for Copenhagen for the New Year! It's been a rough ride all these years!"
Chloe felt a bit awkward.
Laura spoke softly, giving a few last-minute instructions.
Even though they weren't officially hitched yet, Chloe would eventually settle in Copenhagen.
Laura felt a bit down.
Charlotte tried to comfort her.
Frederick came over, took off his leather gloves, and gently touched Chloe's face.
"Frederick!" Chloe, who had a good bond with him, couldn't help but call out.
Frederick responded with a hum.
He pretended to be nonchalant and said, "Finally tying the knot! Get along well over there, and don't come running back home crying."
Chloe looked down, feeling a bit dejected.
Charlotte glanced at her husband, her voice soft. "Is that how you act as a brother?"
Frederick said no more, just looked at Chloe.
Chloe nodded. She took a few steps, but couldn't help but look back and call out to Frederick again. At that moment, it felt like she was a kid again, causing trouble and always having Frederick there; Whether it was a birthday or a holiday, Frederick always stayed by her side.
How could Frederick not know her?
He went over and patted her head again. "Charlotte and I will come to see you later."
Chloe felt a bit better.
At the bottom of the steps, Andrew was holding Gavin, waiting for her.
Andrew and Gavin looked alike, both looking at her with the same eyes, making her steps lighter.
Finally, she came to him. "Let's go!"
Several black Audis slowly drove out of the Hawkins Mansion.
The Hawkins family stood there, watching for a long time. Patrick then perked up and said with a smile, "This year, we're missing two members; it will be a bit quieter. Your mom needs to prepare well; we must have a lively celebration."
Frederick held Charlotte. He said, "Dad, you forgot, this year we have two new members!"
They were Johnny and the child in Charlotte's belly!
Patrick was momentarily stunned, then understood.
He smiled and said, "That's right! With two new family members, it will be even more lively!"
He stretched and said, "After all these years, we've finally come through the hard times."
With that, he exchanged a smile with Laura.
Frederick still held Charlotte, standing in the night, his expression soft.
It was already early morning when Andrew and his group returned to Copenhagen.
They thought Adeline, being old, wouldn't be able to stay up, but as soon as the car entered the yard, Adeline came out to greet them.
Adeline stood under the light, watching as the car door opened and a little boy got out.
Adeline's wrinkles smoothed out.
"Grandma!" Gavin shyly ran over and threw himself into Adeline's arms.
He was so obedient and so good-looking! Just like Andrew when he was little.
Adeline touched Gavin's little face, reluctant to let go, but her eyes looked at Chloe beside Andrew. She said with concern, "Traveling so late, you must be tired! I made you some food."
Chloe's eyes welled up.
It was so late, and clearly, Adeline was the one who was tired, yet she was still so considerate of her.
She went over and hugged Adeline, softly saying, "I'm not tired!"
Adeline gently patted her hand and turned to her son. "Take Chloe to the dining room to eat. I kept the food warm. I'm going to take Gavin to eat something even better."
Andrew grinned. "I wouldn't dare not listen to you!"
He then told Nathan to head back.
Nathan, always the joker, quipped, "I was hoping to stay and have a drink, but it looks like that's not happening. I better head back and catch some Z's; got work tomorrow."
Andrew laughed and cursed, "You rascal!"
Nathan left.
Adeline took Gavin back to the courtyard, probably to sleep there.
Now, it was just Andrew and Chloe.
He was still in his prime, and she was young and beautiful.
Andrew held her hand and walked slowly. Returning to this place again, both of their minds were filled with countless thoughts.
Chloe felt a bit uneasy.
Andrew suddenly stopped, trapping her in his arms against an old tree.
"What? Our son is already this big, and you're still so shy. Aren't you wasting Adeline's good intentions of letting us be alone?"
Andrew's voice was very gentle, making her heart flutter.
Chloe turned her face away uncomfortably.
She loved him and had been through hardships, but happiness came so quickly that she couldn't quite handle it.
Tears welled up in the corner of her eyes.
"Don't cry!" Andrew lowered his head and gently kissed away the tear.
He said, "Chloe, I won't make you cry anymore! I'm back, and I'm not going anywhere. I'll stay with you and our son. I'll be a good father and husband, as long as you don't mind me getting old."
Chloe's lips trembled slightly. "You mustn't say that!"
He wasn't old, not at all.
He was still the dazzlingly handsome Andrew.
Andrew felt touched. He leaned in gently, burying his face in her neck and whispered, "Chloe, when I drove you away, Adeline was really mad at me! She cried a lot in private."
As he spoke, he couldn't help but kiss her intermittently.
Chloe cried. "Andrew, you're so bad, saying these things on purpose."
He hummed in agreement, "Yes, Chloe, I did it on purpose. I just wanted to tell you that Adeline missed you, and I missed you too. Now we're finally together."
Her nose turned red, and she turned her face away.
Andrew looked at her expression.
Chloe was beautiful, and at this moment, she looked even more captivating.
He appeared refined, but he was wild in private.
His large hand grasped her neck, forcing her to kiss him deeply.
She trembled in his grasp, afraid that passing servants might see, so she could only cling tightly to the man's shoulders, whimpering softly in protest.
Andrew kissed her for a long time before finally letting her go.
But he still pecked her red lips, his voice a bit gentler. "Eat something!"
Chloe also missed Adeline's cooking.
She nodded and was about to follow him.
Andrew, however, bent slightly in front of her. She was stunned, and Andrew turned his head. "I'll carry you."
She blushed.
She wasn't a child.
But being pampered by a man, what woman wouldn't be happy?
She clung tightly to his neck, her face pressed against his warm neck, the pure masculine scent making her blush and her heart race.
From now on, she would spend her life with this man!
Chloe couldn't help but call out, "Andrew."
Andrew responded with a hum.
Moments later, Chloe sat at the dining table, with the food Adeline had prepared for her in front of her.
She ate contentedly but also worried.
She said, "Should I learn to cook in the future? I can't always let Adeline cook for me. If word gets out, Frederick will scold me again!"
Hearing this, Andrew grinned.
He pinched her cheek and softly said, "Adeline cooks for you because she likes you! You don't need to do housework; we have so many servants at home!"
Chloe happily continued eating.
She muttered to herself about Andrew, "There are only a few people at home, but there are more than ten servants. Andrew, you really know how to enjoy life."
Andrew saw that she had almost finished eating.
He reached out, unbuttoned her coat, and touched her small belly.
"My greatest enjoyment is you!"
Chloe blushed as he touched her. She instinctively bent down, stammering, "What are you doing? I haven't finished eating yet!"
Andrew's gaze deepened.
His hands didn't stop moving, and he said, "Adeline said you should stay in your old room! I'll take you there!"
With that, he picked her up and walked straight to the backyard.
She knew exactly what he wanted to do.
Chloe felt extremely embarrassed.
She clung tightly to him, her face buried in his chest, softly pleading, "No, someone will see us!"
Andrew lowered his head and kissed her gently.
When he spoke, his voice was hoarse. "You are my wife. Even if the servants see, it doesn't matter."
Chloe was still young and not as thick-skinned as he was.
She urged him, "Hurry up!"
Andrew chuckled softly and quickened his pace, soon reaching his room.
She was pressed against the door, kissed and touched.
Tonight was different; it was their first time after confirming their relationship, and it was in his bedroom.
Naturally, it was more thrilling than any previous time.
He couldn't even wait to get to the bed before taking her.
Chloe had been intimate with him many times, but she had never seen him so eager. The usually composed Andrew now seemed like an ordinary man, making her feel he was within reach.
She even loved him more.
She trembled slightly, unable to resist touching his handsome face, her voice soft and charming. "Andrew."
Andrew lowered his head, seeking her red lips, kissing her deeply and shallowly.
At such times, he liked her calling him that.
"Say it again."
Chloe bit his shoulder lightly but refused to call him again.
Andrew didn't force her.
His gaze was deep, always fixed on her, as if he wanted to memorize every bit of her blushing skin, best to engrave it into his bones.
That night was unforgettable for them.
He didn't want to stop.
Chloe was overwhelmed by him, her voice trembling. "Nathan said you have a meeting tomorrow morning."
Andrew held her chin with one hand.
He whispered against her, "At this moment, you can still think about that?"
Chloe slowly opened her eyes, her gaze shimmering.
Andrew was basking in the pleasures that night.
Early the next morning, Chloe woke up at seven.
Andrew was no longer by her side.
She turned over and looked at the sky outside the window, gently touching her forehead. 'Should I get up now?'
Just then, the door was opened.
A tall figure came in, closing the door behind him.
The man who had indulged all night was now in a sports outfit, looking refreshed. He sat beside her and pulled the blanket. "I usually run five miles, but after last night with you, I only ran three miles this morning!"
Chloe covered her face.
She didn't want to move at all, and he still went running!
She pulled down the blanket and looked at him. "Can I sleep in?"
Andrew smiled.
He pulled out breakfast from behind him!
