Chapter 130 I'll Make Room for You Guys

Charlotte kicked him hard.

Frederick winced in pain, and Charlotte grabbed her suitcase, heading for the door.

But Frederick's long legs caught up, and he grabbed her hand just as she reached the door.

His eyes were intense. "Are you really leaving?"

Charlotte looked down and whispered, "Let go!"

Frederick leaned in, his tone softening. "The food's here; let's eat together."

Charlotte knew his game. Whenever he wanted to smooth things over, he'd show a bit of tenderness, and it always worked.

She'd fallen for his so-called gentle side too many times, only to realize it was just a game to him.

She smirked bitterly. "I don't want to eat. It's pointless."

Frederick frowned but didn't let go.

The doorbell rang, breaking the tension.

Charlotte guessed it was Katherine.

She sneered. "Frederick, plenty of people want to eat with you. You don't need me."

Frederick's face darkened, and he let go.

Charlotte took a deep breath and opened the door.

Sure enough, Katherine stood there with a gift, looking surprised at the suitcase in Charlotte's hand.

Katherine smiled sweetly. "Miss Russell, I'm here to apologize. Did I cause a fight between you and Frederick?"

Charlotte felt disgusted.

She pulled her suitcase and headed for the elevator, ignoring Frederick's angry call. "Charlotte!"

They'd argued last night, and Frederick had stayed home today, waiting for her.

He'd explained, even conceded, but she was still leaving.

Charlotte's eyes welled up. She'd fallen for Frederick, but to him, she was just a pastime. Staying would mean living like a compliant wife, waiting for a husband who didn't care.

She turned to Katherine. "Miss Mitchell, congrats. The Morning Dew, the white dress, and Frederick are all yours. Happy now?"

The elevator doors opened.

Charlotte stepped in, throwing one last line. "I've made room for you two."

Frederick watched the doors close, his face dark.

Katherine stepped closer, her voice soft. "Did you two fight?"

Frederick snapped, "Why are you here again?"

Katherine held up the gift. "I came to apologize to Miss Russell."

Frederick lit a cigarette, exhaling slowly. "No need. I told you last night, don't come looking for me. If you're down, call someone or see a therapist."

Katherine's face paled, looking pitiful.

She shouted, "Frederick, are you really letting an unrelated woman affect us? I don't believe you care about her."

Frederick's expression hardened.

"Katherine, I can tolerate a woman being dramatic sometimes for fun, but overdoing it makes you seem fake."

He thought of Charlotte. She was always genuine with him.

When she liked him, her eyes sparkled. When she didn't, she made it clear.

She ended things directly, never dragging it out.

Frederick had always been surrounded by women who admired him. No one had ever dared to throw tantrums at him, not even Katherine in the past.

Charlotte was quite a handful; Frederick had invited back a spoiled princess!

Frederick was fuming.

When he got back to the apartment, he tried to close the door, but Katherine blocked it.

He didn't let her in. "Katherine, we ended a long time ago!"

Katherine didn't budge.

After a while, she softly asked, "If I break off the engagement with him, Frederick, do we still have a chance?"

Frederick stared at her.

After a long pause, he smirked. "What do you think?"

He pried her hand away and slammed the door shut.

The apartment was eerily quiet.

He could faintly hear Katherine crying outside, but he didn't care.

He walked into the kitchen.

There were still a few dishes Charlotte liked, which he had specifically asked the chef to make. Charlotte was angry, and he was willing to lower himself to appease her. But she had left without looking back.

The apartment was terrifyingly quiet.

Frederick found it unbearable.

With a blank expression, he took out the dishes and dumped them into a garbage bag. As he changed clothes and went downstairs, he casually threw the bag into the trash can.

He thought, It was just a woman! Whether she stayed or left, it wouldn't affect him much. He wouldn't spend so much effort on a woman.

Charlotte carried her suitcase and drove to her small rented apartment.

Although the place was small, it had everything she needed.

She tidied up a bit and added some daily necessities.

In the following days, there was no news from Frederick. He didn't call or message, and neither did she.

Charlotte slowly got used to living alone.

She was busy in the music studio every day, leaving early and returning late, feeling quite fulfilled.

A week later, Ms. Garcia found a solution for the financing issue.

A real estate developer, Mr. Lewis, was willing to invest $2 million. Ms. Garcia had a good conversation with him, but Mr. Lewis insisted on meeting the other partner.

Ms. Garcia came to Charlotte's office and explained briefly.

Charlotte was worried. Could he have other motives?

But since the other party requested it, Charlotte had to meet him. Surprisingly, Mr. Lewis was very proper and even wanted to treat them to a meal.

Mr. Lewis was very polite. "Ms. Russell, I've heard you teach piano exceptionally well. I have a daughter, and perhaps we could bring her over one day for you to assess her potential in piano. If you don't mind, she could learn piano from you."

Hearing this, they felt confident about the deal.

Ms. Garcia signaled to Charlotte.

Charlotte smiled and shook hands with Mr. Lewis. "Mr. Lewis, you're too kind! Ms. Garcia and I should be the ones treating you to a meal."

Mr. Lewis was very generous and signed the letter of intent on the spot.

Charlotte noticed the payment account was from a newly registered company—Everlasting Culture.

Mr. Lewis noticed her expression and gave a meaningful smile.

He shook hands again. "On Saturday, my wife and I invite Ms. Garcia and Ms. Russell to dinner. Don't miss it."

Mr. Lewis got into his car and sent out a message: [Ethan, the matter is settled!]

Ethan immediately replied: [Thank you, Mr. Lewis. Dinner is on me tonight.]

After seeing Mr. Lewis off, Ms. Garcia held the letter of intent and kissed it repeatedly.

She said, "Mr. Lewis probably came because of his daughter's admiration for you, Charlotte. This time, you're the biggest contributor to our music studio."

Charlotte put some coffee beans on and brewed two cups of coffee.

As she handed one to Ms. Garcia, she frowned slightly.

For some reason, she felt that things had gone too smoothly.

While she was pondering, Oliver called her, "Charlotte, treat me to dinner!"
