Chapter 511 Have You Had Someone You Liked Over These Years?

Lola picked up the phone.

The secretary said, "Ms. Hawkins, Charles is here."

Lola glanced at Johnny. "Have him wait in the reception room."

The secretary tried to say more, but Lola had already hung up.

She said calmly, "See? I'm super busy. No need to see me out."

Just as she finished, the office door flew open with a bang. It was Samuel.

Samuel, who was always living it up, looked big and intimidating. He stormed in with a hostile tone. "Lola, you're my defense attorney, yet you took those photos of me. Isn't that too much? Threatening your client."

Lola leaned against her desk and sneered. "You still remember I'm your lawyer? The legal fees are settled, and we go our separate ways."

Samuel wasn't having it. A divorce case was going to cost him two hundred million dollars, which was way too much.

He straightened his shirt collar and tried to negotiate. "How about twenty million dollars? If you agree, I'll have the finance department transfer the money right away."

Lola picked up a snooker cue from her desk and played with it lightly.

Her voice was just as gentle. "I have a bad temper, so don't even think about lowballing me! I'm not a saint, but push me, and I can do anything."

Samuel was used to getting his way. Even though he knew the Hawkins Family's daughter was tough, he didn't take her seriously because of his age.

The case was settled; what could she do with a few photos? Besides, she probably wouldn't do anything to ruin her own reputation.

Samuel, as bold as ever, lightly touched Lola's collar. "But if you're willing, we can have a private chat. Two hundred million dollars isn't out of the question."

He had long wanted to sleep with Lola.

Johnny was about to step in when Lola looked down at the hand on her collar and chuckled. "Mr. Nelson wants to play something exciting with me?"

When Samuel tried to make a few cheeky remarks, Lola swung the cue at him, catching him off guard and making him stumble back several steps before finally falling to the ground in a sorry state. Lola walked over slowly, her high heels clicking crisply on the polished floor, and swung the cue a few more times before kicking Samuel's face, leaving several bruises and making him cry out in pain.

Lola squatted down and patted his face. "Is that exciting enough? Want to go another round?"

Samuel didn't dare anymore.

Lola poked him with the cue. "Stop pretending. Get up and write a check, or your nude photos will be all over the internet."

Samuel glared at Lola angrily and cursed her, but he didn't dare delay. He immediately got up, took out his checkbook, and wrote a check. Lola took the check and told him to get lost, and Samuel left angrily.

Lola called her assistant, who entered and asked, "Ms. Hawkins, what can I do for you?"

Lola looked at the check and said softly, "Contact the former Mrs. Nelson and deliver this check to her. Don't say anything else!"

The assistant hesitated. "Why bother? She probably hates you the most right now."

"I know! But no one dislikes money. Just deliver it."

The assistant nodded.

After the door closed, Lola walked to the pool table and bent over to play snooker. "Johnny, aren't you leaving?"

Johnny took off his coat, walked to her side, and asked, "Are you always this violent?"

Lola smiled. "Someone like Samuel deserves it."

Two balls went into the pockets. She straightened up and patted his handsome face. "Aren't I gentle with you?"

Johnny grabbed her hand, pushed her onto the pool table, and pressed his body against hers, his voice hoarse. "Really? You almost pulled all my hair out."

Lola chuckled lightly. "Are you still reminiscing? One or two times, it's not a big deal! I'm done here, you can go. Send me the contract, and I'll consider it."

Johnny wanted to grab lunch with her.

Lola shot him down without a second thought. "I'm on a diet these days."

Johnny didn't buy it. Lola was already slim, but she didn't get that way by starving herself. She must have a solid workout routine to keep that figure. He had felt it all over that night and knew how good it was.

Lola didn't care if he believed her or not.

When he didn't leave, she called the secretary to kick him out. Just as she hung up, Johnny went and locked the office door.

Lola looked at him. Johnny walked back and whispered, "Lola, when my company is on track, I'll take over the business of the Vertex Innovations Group."

Lola looked up at him. Her eyes were a bit moist, but it was hard to notice. Her words, though, were as harsh as ever. "You've decided to take over the family business? Had a change of heart? Fine, if you want to take over, let my dad transfer all the shares to you."

Johnny stared at her. Lola didn't back down. After a moment, Johnny spoke softly, "I thought there was no need to transfer shares. I'll work for you, for free."

Lola jumped off the pool table. She bent over and continued playing, her posture particularly graceful.

Johnny pressed against her back. If he wanted, he could hold her in his arms with just a stretch of his hand, touching her as much as he wanted, knowing Lola liked it too. But he didn't. He wanted Lola's response, not just enjoyment. He wanted her to sit on his stomach, looking down at him with that imperious gaze, dominating him and all his desires. This was a secret desire hidden in Johnny's heart.

Lola took a shot and smiled. "Alright! When I get married, you can work for us."

Johnny got angry and hugged her slender waist. He flipped her body over, pressed down on her, and gently stroked her face. "Lola, your words can be really infuriating."

With that, he kissed her lips.

Lola grabbed his hair and kicked him, but he caught her leg, quickly took off her high heels, and then tore off her sheer stockings.

Lola let out a muffled groan. She looked up at the man above her, thinking he was crazy, and she was a bit crazy too. Her body didn't feel like her own. She wrapped her arms around his neck, swaying, and kissed him. "With skills like this, how many people have you practiced on?"

Johnny didn't answer. At this point, he could still hold back, insisting on letting her enjoy it.

He buried his face in her neck and coaxed her. "Just tell me if you like it or not!"

Lola quite liked it. She cupped his handsome face and whispered, "Let's go to the lounge."

Johnny picked her up, kissing her as he carried her to the lounge and closed the door.

He was eager to please her, and Lola could sense it. She didn't mind, holding his neck and kissing him.

Outside, the secretary knocked on the door. But the passionate couple inside couldn't hear it. In their world, there was only each other, passionately and wildly possessing each other, wishing they could tear each other apart. So they wouldn't hurt each other anymore.

After it was over, Lola put on a shirt and leaned against the headboard, lost in thought.

Johnny also got up, leaned beside her, and silently smoked a cigarette. After a long time, he turned his head and asked her, "Do you regret it?"

Lola smiled faintly. "Regret what? I didn't lose anything!"

Her indifferent attitude always made him angry.

Lola got out of bed, wanting to freshen up. Johnny grabbed her hand, not letting her go. "What are you thinking?"

Lola patted his handsome face. "What am I thinking? When there's a need, what else can I think? Johnny, you can leave now."

He was quite angry and retorted, "Do you think I'm just a gigolo?"

Lola didn't deny it. "You can think that way if you want!"

Johnny watched her dress efficiently, feeling pretty uncomfortable. "You enjoy doing this with me, don't you? Don't you want to enjoy it every day?"

"I'm afraid I'll get bored."

Johnny was so exasperated by her that he had no temper left. Every time he tried to get closer to her, Lola would push him away without hesitation. She didn't mind having a physical relationship with him, but she wouldn't give him any promises. Johnny wasn't naive enough to think that a few more times would change her mind. She was more stubborn than anyone else.

Just then, his company called. Johnny got dressed, fastened his belt, and said goodbye to Lola before leaving.

Lola leaned against the door and chuckled, "Take care!"

Johnny gave her a deep look before leaving. Once he was gone, Lola washed her face and went back to work. She really wasn't in the mood to eat today.

Every time Johnny appeared, she reminded herself that it was over between them.

Her rational mind rejected him, but her body didn't; otherwise, she wouldn't have slept with him.

She admitted that sex with him was quite enjoyable. She didn't know if it was because Johnny understood women or knew her well, but he always made her feel good.

Lola rubbed her face and thought, 'There can't be a next time.'

Despite how good Johnny's body felt, she couldn't let herself get addicted. It wasn't going anywhere. She knew that if they kept sleeping together, feelings would develop, and she didn't want to disgust herself any further.

Just as she was thinking this, the secretary came in with a lunchbox.

Lola leaned back in her chair. "Didn't I say I wasn't having lunch?"

The secretary cautiously said, "Johnny had someone send it over, saying it's to nourish Ms. Hawkins."

Lola usually had thick skin. Today, the secretary outside must have guessed what happened between her with Johnny in the lounge. This matter should have been over. Johnny pulling this stunt was just to disgust her!

She suddenly remembered the shameless things Johnny whispered in her ear while they were making love, and her face flushed.

So she had no appetite.

Lola waved her hand. "Alright, you can go!"

The secretary quickly left.

Lola glared at the food, covered it, and threw it in the trash. With some free time, she leaned back on the sofa and pressed a button, raising a TV wall in front of her. The news was explosive, featuring Gavin as the main character. Lola's expression turned serious.

Molly's identity had been exposed.

The past between Celeste and Andrew, as well as Molly and Gavin's relationship, immediately went viral nationwide. There were even photos of Andrew and Celeste from their school days and Andrew's past relationship with Chloe. The reports were vivid.

Molly's situation was difficult. She was labeled as an illegitimate child and accused of stealing Gavin.

Lola immediately called Gavin.

She asked, "What happened?"

Gavin's voice was tense, indicating he was dealing with the situation. Although the Hawkins Family and the Devereux Family had deep roots, such news always found a way to spread and couldn't be suppressed.

Gavin's voice was hoarse. "Lola, I need to keep an eye on the Hughes Family."

Lola was in sync. "I'll handle the media! Gavin, don't act impulsively. This isn't just about you and Molly. Let Andrew and my dad step in! Right now, the only way to turn things around is for Sarah to come out and apologize, saying she made it all up. That's the only way to minimize Molly's damage."

Gavin laughed. "You guessed it!"

Lola cursed, "You actually got involved with Sarah! Fine, blaming you won't help. Just comfort Molly; she seems timid and fragile."

Gavin agreed.

Lola hung up and immediately assembled a legal team. A 12-person legal team, ready to sue the Hughes Family and those unscrupulous media outlets. She also called Sarah. But Sarah was stubborn and unwilling to back down.

Lola lowered her voice. "Sarah, Gavin was wrong at first. But the main responsibility lies with you. Besides, people like us have to consider our parents' and family's reputation and future. If you're still angry, go after Gavin. No one in our family will stop you, but you shouldn't bully Molly. She doesn't owe you anything, so why target her?"

Lola knew if this continued, only Molly would be embarrassed. The Devereux family and the Hawkins family wouldn't suffer any loss. At most, people would say the Devereux men were promiscuous!

Sarah's goal was to force Gavin to break up with Molly and marry her instead. But Sarah didn't understand Gavin well enough. He only cared about his family. He didn't bother with what others thought. This would only make him protect Molly more.

The Hughes Family was powerful, but if the Hawkins Family and the Devereux Family joined forces, they could bankrupt the Hughes Family in Seattle. It all depended on what the family heads decided.

Sarah took a long time to respond. She whispered, "I have no choice! I love him!"

Then she hung up.

Lola could only sigh. She worked all afternoon and didn't leave the office until 8 PM, ready to head back to her apartment.

Downstairs, a sports car was parked. It was Johnny.

On an early spring night, the car window was down, revealing a stoic, handsome face.

Lola, carrying her briefcase, thought quietly that this man was anything but calm in bed, as wild as could be, and not at all concerned about cleanliness.

She walked over and knocked on the car with her briefcase. "Are you waiting for someone?"

Johnny looked at her, his chin slightly raised. "Get in."

Lola smiled. "I have my own car! You don't need to keep coming. If we really need to, we can go to a hotel."

Johnny got out of the car and dragged her in.

Lola sat beside him, took off her high heels, and didn't say a word.

She was very tired today. She had a court session in the morning, made love with him for two hours at noon, and then spent the afternoon and evening dealing with Gavin's issues. She hadn't even eaten. Lola's face was a bit pale.

Johnny stopped at a red light, turned to look at her, and asked softly, "Are you feeling unwell?"

Lola didn't intend to go against her body. She pointed ahead. "Let's go eat!"

He guessed immediately. "You didn't eat the food I sent today?"

Lola snorted. "Don't do such childish things again."

Johnny gripped the steering wheel without saying a word. When the light turned green, he drove to a nearby restaurant with a nice ambiance.

It was cold and there weren't many customers. Lola sat down, ordered, and fortunately, the food came quickly. She ate in silence, drinking some water after finishing about half.

Looking up, she saw Johnny didn't eat. She smiled faintly. "Not used to it?"

Johnny shook his head. "No."

He just wanted to look at her because she rarely showed her emotions, except in bed or now. With that thought, he began to eat.

They ate quietly, with few words.

After a while, he asked, "All these years, haven't you met anyone you liked? Why are you still single?"

Lola wiped her lips, leaned back and looked at Johnny with her familiar arrogance. "Do you think I'm like you, not picky at all, bringing anyone home?"

"What about me? Am I the one you chose to sleep with?"

Lola sneered. "Are you kidding? It's just a one-time thing between us. Don't show up in front of me again; I don't have the energy to deal with you."

Johnny lowered his head and ate silently. He didn't continue the conversation. He seemed to have gotten smarter; every time Lola rejected him, he would just stay silent.

Lola found it boring, and then stood up. "You pay the bill! Thanks for the hospitality, both at noon and tonight."

Johnny grabbed her hand. "I'll take you home! Just to the downstairs."

Lola looked down at him from above.
