Frederick gently said, "For Lola's sake, please consider it!"
Charlotte stared at him. She said, "I'm scared if Lola gets better, you'll be the one losing it!"
Frederick chuckled softly. "Feeling sorry for me?"
Charlotte blushed and pushed him away. "No way!"
She got out of bed and headed to the walk-in closet to change.
Frederick followed her in.
They'd been married before, and he'd seen her naked a million times.
Charlotte didn't avoid him. As she pulled on a sweater, he hugged her from behind and whispered, "Charlotte, you're still mad at me!"
Charlotte didn't deny it.
The hurt from her past wasn't something she could easily shake off.
She whispered, "Frederick, we both need time."
He hummed softly, way easier to talk to than before. When they were alone, he didn't push her, knowing she was not only the woman he wanted but also Lola's mom.
Sensual experiences were best shared when the time was right.
Just then, Frederick's phone rang.
It was Patrick calling. He held her slim waist with one hand and answered the phone with the other, "Dad?"
Patrick's tone was off. "Frederick, bring Charlotte back!"
Frederick wanted to ask why.
Patrick told him to give the phone to Charlotte and said a few words to her. Charlotte nodded. "Okay, we'll be there soon."
The call ended.
Frederick asked softly, "What did he say?"
Charlotte whispered, "The Mitchell family is causing trouble, insisting that I match for Elijah."
Frederick was fuming, thinking, 'Not to mention that Charlotte isn't a match, even if she is, do they expect her to donate bone marrow?'
Seeing his expression, Charlotte smiled faintly. "What's wrong? You seem to have quite an issue with him now?"

Savannah said, "Elijah saved Chloe!"
