Chapter 47 Women Would be Obedient when She Loved You

When Charlotte hung up, Ethan angrily pounded the car. 'Charlotte! Is this still the Charlotte I knew?'

Ethan was in a bad mood, unwilling to admit that he was affected by Charlotte.

Just a woman he didn't get. That's all!

Ethan didn't go to the hospital to bandage his wound but drove to a high-end club he often frequented for socializing. The people who played there were all of some status.

Ethan booked a private room and started drinking in broad daylight.

Henry  Perez, the manager, joined him for a few drinks and asked sympathetically, "Mr. Cooper, having a spat with your girlfriend? Drinking away your sorrows so early in the day! It shouldn't be like this; I heard the Hawkins family's daughter is deeply in love with you!"

Ethan leaned back on the leather sofa, his blue eyes slightly downcast. "Deeply in love with me?"

Henry smiled as he poured him a drink. "A woman would be obedient when she loves you."

Ethan silently drank half a glass of wine.

After a while, he smiled faintly. "If one day she stops listening, does that mean she doesn't love you anymore?"

"It's impossible! I believe in your abilities," Henry flattered.

Seeing that Ethan was troubled by a woman, Henry called over a girl.

The girl was very young and looked very innocent.

"Keep Mr. Cooper company and cheer him up," Henry said tactfully.

Ethan initially wanted to refuse, but when he looked up, he was stunned.

The innocent face in front of him bore a six-point resemblance to Charlotte, especially the profile. He was a bit lost in thought and reached out to pull the girl to his side, calling out, "Charlotte?"

Henry tactfully exited.

In the luxurious private room, only the two of them were left.

The girl knew how to make a man happy; she proactively wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him. Feeling the passion, Ethan pressed her onto the sofa.

Afterwards, Ethan asked nonchalantly, "What's your name?"

"Julia." The girl helped him dress, very obediently.

Ethan smiled roguishly. "That's a nice name."

Julia blushed and softly hugged his waist. "Mr. Cooper, when will you come see me again?"

Ethan lit a cigarette and took a few slow puffs. "We'll see."

Julia was a bit disappointed. She wanted to test if Ethan would keep her, given how passionate he was earlier, always calling her 'Charlotte.' Who 'Charlotte' was didn't matter; what mattered was that she could reach a rich man.

Ethan had no interest in entangling with her further and quickly left the club.

He got in the car and checked the time. It was already noon, just the right time to go to the Hawkins family for lunch. Thinking about meeting Frederick, his handsome face darkened.

To his surprise, Frederick hadn't returned yet when he arrived at the Hawkins family.

Chloe came downstairs with her phone, sweetly telling her parents, "Don't know what Frederick's busy with. He said he'd be back for lunch, but now he says it'll be three in the afternoon."

Ethan clenched his fist. He knew exactly what Frederick was busy with.

But on the surface, he remained calm, playing chess with Patrick.

Chloe sat next to him, softly saying, "Don't be mad. Frederick didn't do it on purpose."

Ethan smiled faintly. "Why would I be?"

Patrick was quite satisfied with Ethan. He glanced at Chloe and said, "Do you think Ethan is as troublesome as you? If everyone were like you, how would business get done?"

Ethan gently hugged his fiancée. "Chloe is very understanding."

Chloe felt sweet inside. She was about to speak when she suddenly leaned in and sniffed Ethan's shoulder. "Ethan, why do you smell like perfume?"
