Chapter 366 You Can't Even Admit You Like Her

Frederick didn't just send a pic; he threw in a message too: [Do you like it?]

Charlotte's face went beet red with rage.

How the heck did he find her on Facebook? This dude had no shame, but Charlotte couldn't help sneaking another peek at the photo.

Even if he was a jerk, Frederick was the hottest jerk around.

Charlotte deleted the pic.

She knew she had to set things straight with him.

Just because she wasn't with Ethan didn't mean she had to put up with Frederick's crap. Plus, her dad mentioned he was heading to Hawkins Group tonight, which made Charlotte uneasy. She had a gut feeling Frederick was coming on to her.

It was a hot and sticky night.

Charlotte tossed off the covers and bolted to the bathroom.

She stripped down to her light pink undies and checked herself out in the mirror. Everything was in the right place.

With her long blonde hair, she was a knockout.

But she figured her looks alone weren't enough to reel in Frederick.

He had mentioned the piano.

So, was he into her talent?

At 20, Charlotte was still dreaming of becoming a pianist, and she couldn't help but feel a bit giddy.

But she still needed to set things straight with him.

The next day, at the music academy.

Charlotte tried to keep a low profile, but no matter where she went, she was the center of attention, especially with Tina always throwing shade.

"Charlotte, aren't you about to become a rich man's wife? Why are you still in school? I thought you really liked Ethan! Turns out you're just a gold digger."

Charlotte wasn't one to back down and shot back, "What's it to you?"

Tina was momentarily stunned.

Just then, Lily and Robert walked over and caught the whole thing.

Lily, who always had Charlotte's back, immediately said, "Tina, isn't this what you wanted? Don't you have a thing for Ethan? Go for it!"

Tina's face twisted in anger.

Ethan didn't give her the time of day. She had asked him out several times, but he blew her off.

Lily, feeling smug, wanted to say more.

Robert stopped her. "We're all classmates! Lily, that's enough!"

At 20, Lily was like a blooming rose.

She snorted. "Why are you defending her, Robert? Tell me, do you like her?"

Robert looked helpless.

And Tina, though scolded, lightly curled her lips.

She winked at Robert and then left.

The girls' dorm, usually dead quiet, was now heated.

Tina's smooth body, barely covered by clothes, was actively cooperating with Robert's advances.

In the heat of the moment, Robert took her passionately, sweat dripping down and soaking the sheets.

Tina wasn't as pretty as Lily.

But she was more daring, willing to do things Lily wouldn't.

At this moment, Tina held him, her eyes seductive, her slender fingers lightly sliding across his chest, and she sneered. "Lily could come back any time. Aren't you scared she'll find out?"

Robert kissed her red lips, his voice hoarse.

"As long as Charlotte's around, she doesn't care about me! And even if she finds out, so what? She's not as good at pleasing me as you are."

After saying this, Robert seemed even more excited.

Tina knew that Robert had feelings for Lily. If Lily ever found out, her relationship with Robert would end, which meant no one would pay her tuition anymore. So, no matter how harsh Lily's words were, Tina never thought of exposing their relationship.

After they were done, Robert put on his pants and left.

He left a card, which was Tina's living expenses for the month.

Meanwhile, Lily was comforting Charlotte.

Charlotte wasn't that fragile. She patted Lily. "You scold Tina, but you secretly put a thousand dollars on her meal card every month!"

Lily felt a bit uneasy. She smiled. "If she doesn't behave, I'll still deal with her!"

They chatted a bit more, then turned around to see that Robert was gone.

Charlotte was both amused and annoyed. "Take care of your own business; don't just worry about me! I'm really fine!"

She continued with her life and studies.

She had a dream of going to Novaria for further studies.

The greatest piano player, Elijah, was in Novaria.

Thinking of Elijah, Charlotte thought of that piano. Was it really with Frederick? Would he really let her touch it?

Meanwhile, Frederick made a trip to Manilove.

He bought that Morning Dew piano!

It cost him a lot, but he knew Charlotte loved it!

On Friday, Frederick returned to the country.

As soon as he got back to the office, Cherie came in and said, "Mr. Hawkins, there's a Mr. Cooper who wants to see you."

Frederick poured himself a glass of water. After drinking half of it, he said, "Let him in!"

He then added, "Call Miss Russell and tell her I want to take her to see the piano, see what she says."

Cherie knew Frederick meant business this time, so she grinned.

A moment later, Ethan walked into the office.

He was a golden boy too, with a solid background and good looks.

But next to Frederick, he was just another face in the crowd.

When he came in, Frederick was standing by the window, sipping water.

At 22, Ethan couldn't keep his cool like the seasoned Frederick. He said in a raspy voice, "I haven't signed the $1 billion investment document yet."

Frederick still didn't turn around.

Holding his mug, he gazed out the window and casually asked, "Ethan, do you like Charlotte?"

There was a long, awkward silence.

Frederick finally turned around.

He stared at Ethan and softly said, "You can't even admit you like her! What do you have to negotiate with me?"

Ethan was taken aback.

He had thought that a guy like Frederick would only be interested in Charlotte for a fling.

But it was clear Frederick cared a lot.

Frederick saw right through him.

In his heart, he was grateful to Ethan, grateful that after his death, he left Gabriel to protect Charlotte. So in this dream, he had no ill will towards Ethan.

Frederick slowly sat down and gestured for Ethan to do the same.

The sunlight outside hit Frederick's profile, highlighting his features and giving him a golden glow.

After a long pause, Frederick slowly spoke, "Ethan, signing the $1 billion deal and giving up Charlotte, isn't that a sweet deal? It can help the Cooper Group get through the crisis safely, and you won't have to let down a woman who truly loves you in the future! And William will be safe."

Ethan's face turned pale.

He had never thought that his plans would be seen through by the man in front of him.

For the first time, he lost his composure. "Mr. Hawkins, what do you mean?"

Frederick smiled slightly. "You know exactly what I mean! Ethan, don't ask me how I know; I have no ill will towards you."

He thought that at 22, Ethan would choose power over Charlotte.

Ethan knew Frederick was right. Any man should know what to choose. Clearly, he could not only get the $1 billion investment but also climb up to the Hawkins family.

It was a win-win situation!

Ethan stood up and calmly said, "Thank you, Mr. Hawkins! Looking forward to our cooperation!"

Frederick remained seated, not moving at first.

He looked up at the vibrant 22-year-old Ethan, feeling a bit sad.

In reality, Ethan was already dead.

Frederick stood up, shook his hand, and said in a low voice, "Ethan, thank you."

Ethan was stunned.

He didn't get what Frederick was driving at.

Frederick smiled faintly. "Actually, I quite like a kid from the Cooper family, named Gabriel."

Ethan was even more confused.

Frederick still smiled gently, his eyes full of emotion. "Gabriel should be 13 years old, right? When I marry Charlotte, I'll take him as my godson."

Ethan mumbled, "Frederick, you're only 24. Is that proper?"

As he was about to leave, the door opened, and a stunning girl walked in.

Ethan recognized her as Chloe, the daughter of the Hawkins family.

Chloe came in and stared at him for a long time. Ethan nodded slightly and left.

"Frederick! Who was that just now?"

Chloe ran over and hugged Frederick's neck playfully.

Frederick turned his head and looked at her. "Did you like him?"

Chloe's fair face turned red.

Frederick pondered for a moment and then said, "He's not suitable for you! If you dare to contact him privately, I'll break your legs!"

Chloe was fuming.

Frederick looked at her for a while, then opened his computer and pulled up a news segment from Copenhegan, featuring Andrew.

At that time, Andrew was quite young.

His noble and refined demeanor naturally attracted young girls, and Chloe was at least mesmerized.

Frederick asked, "Isn't this one better?"

Chloe looked closely and then got upset. "Frederick, this is Mr. Devereux from Copenhegan; he would never be interested in me!"

Frederick originally wanted to lecture her, but in the end, he felt sorry for her.

He gently stroked her hair and softly said, "Chloe, you're the best in my heart! No one can compare."

Chloe asked, "Am I better than Charlotte?"

Frederick wasn't surprised. He smiled faintly. "How can you compare? One is my future wife, the other is my sister."

Chloe's face turned slightly red.

She had always relied on Frederick and couldn't help but act playfully, asking for a hug, and softly said, "Frederick! As long as Charlotte is nice, I'll treat her well!"

Frederick patted her head.

At this moment, Cherie came in. "Mr. Hawkins, Miss Russell refused to come."

Frederick wasn't angry.

He knew Charlotte's character better than anyone, so he looked at Chloe and tossed his phone to her. "Help me call her over!"
