Chapter 648 I Still Prefer You Wearing Your Own Clothes

Amara knew she should push him away. But as she gazed at Kingsley's young and handsome face, she just couldn't. She let him do whatever he wanted.

"Why aren't you resisting?" Kingsley teased, his voice so soft and gentle that only they could hear it in the night. "Are you feeling turned on?"

Amara's cheeks turned a bit pink. She tried to push Kingsley away. "Let me in."

Kingsley barely felt her attempt to move him. Instead of stepping back, he only drew closer, his lips brushing against hers before he gently bit her soft lips.

His voice was tender. "From now on, don't stay out overnight."

Then he let her go.

Amara walked towards the villa, her steps quick and steady. Kingsley followed casually behind her, his demeanor far from angry, which only added to her confusion. What was he playing at?

It wasn't until she got back to the master bedroom to check on Jesse that she realized Kingsley had followed her in. She turned to face him.

Kingsley didn't say anything, but his eyes were intense. As she bent over to look at Jesse, he spoke softly, like a normal husband talking to his wife. "Jesse still needs Hailey. You weren't here last night, and he cried a lot. It wasn't right to bother Hailey in the middle of the night."

He gently caressed her waist and said, "How about letting Hailey take care of Jesse, and Nicole can help too. If Naomi is willing, she can stay over as well."

Amara felt it was inconvenient. She didn't want to mess up Billy's family's life and keep them from being together. Lost in thought, she almost forgot that Kingsley's hand was still gently caressing her waist.

After a moment, she bit her lip. "Then let Hailey and Nicole come over. Nicole has school from Monday to Friday, so on weekends we can take care of Jesse and give Hailey a break."

It was rare for them to have such a calm moment together.

Kingsley quietly watched her.

After a while, he smiled. "You've thought it through well! Alright, let's do it your way!"

Amara was actually surprised.

Even when Kingsley agreed, he usually liked to argue with her. Today was different.

How could Kingsley not know what she was thinking? He held her waist and said softly, "I still prefer you in your own clothes. Go take a shower and change."

Amara was indeed tired from her trip to Bostan. She wanted to take a bath and give herself a little massage, which would take about an hour. Emerging from the bathroom, refreshed and wrapped in a warm robe, she was surprised to find Kingsley still in her bedroom.

Kingsley had changed into a white bathrobe, lounging against the headboard with his long legs bent. The simple bathrobe looked exceptionally good on him.

Amara adjusted her own bathrobe. "Why aren't you sleeping yet?"

Kingsley casually flipped through the magazine in his hand and said nonchalantly, "I'm here to tempt you! How can I sleep if you don't take a look?"

After saying that, he got up and straightforwardly went to the bedroom next door.

Amara looked at the closed door. She was a bit confused. What did he mean by tempting her? When did Kingsley become so shameless?

Early in the morning, Jesse woke up looking for Snowflake.

Everyone in the villa was searching for Snowflake, but they couldn't find it. When Jesse started crying, Caitlyn came downstairs with a towel wrapped around her head and cucumbers on her face, looking like she was having a spa day. In her arms, nestled comfortably, was Snowflake.

"Snowflake!" Jesse cried even louder.

Caitlyn struck a pose on the stairs. "Jesse, don't you recognize me?"

Jesse found the voice familiar. He hesitated and then softly asked, "Are you the lady who used to sell vegetables at the market?"

Caitlyn, furious, took off the cucumbers. "Does the vegetable lady look as good as me? Does she have a body like mine?"

Jesse spoke honestly. "I think Mom and Aunt Lola look better."

Caitlyn rolled her eyes but handed Snowflake to him. "It ran to my place early in the morning and insisted on snuggling in my bed. I had no choice but to take it in."

Jesse held Snowflake, cherishing it and kissing it repeatedly.

Caitlyn glanced at Kingsley at the dining table and the loving Amara, and couldn't help but say, "Jesse still looks more like Amara!"

Caitlyn went back upstairs; she hadn't had enough sleep and needed to catch up. Amara was about to hold Jesse for breakfast when Landon called. She paused, staring at the screen for a moment, her thoughts racing.

Kingsley, sipping his coffee, asked, "Why aren't you answering? Shouldn't you congratulate the newlywed Landon? He just got married and is already calling his subordinates. Could it be that his married life isn't going well?"

Amara found his words venomous and resisted. "Why do you talk so much?"

Then she answered the call. "Mr. Carter!"

On the other end, Landon was silent for a moment before asking about Caitlyn. "How is Caitlyn? The Robinson Family didn't give her a hard time, did they?"

Amara thought for a moment and said, "I brought Caitlyn home! Mr. Carter, you should know best how she is! Before she got engaged, she was always waiting for you, but she ended up waiting for your wedding. You were the one who broke up with her. Now that she's not bothering you anymore, please don't disturb her again! Sometimes, too much concern can be harmful."

Landon didn't blame Amara, nor did he argue.

After a long while, he said bitterly, "Amara, you're quite right."

The call ended.

Amara told Jesse to put down the puppy and wash his hands for breakfast. Jesse had been raised with good habits, thanks to her diligent efforts to instill a healthy routine. He was an obedient child, always quick to follow his mother's guidance.

Amara happened to be sitting to Kingsley's right. She had just drunk half a glass of milk when Kingsley spoke up, "Ms. Butler seems to understand a lot now, your insights on life are quite impressive! You see other people's issues so clearly, have you had time to think about your own?"

"Think about what?" Amara played dumb, but while reaching for a sandwich, she refilled his coffee.

Kingsley watched her action. After a moment, he chuckled lightly and didn't ask further.

Amara said, "Later, you go to the company, and I'll stay until Hailey arrives! I'll also check on Caitlyn."

At this, Kingsley glanced upstairs.

He said, "Caitlyn needs to force herself to face this issue. Once she understands, she should forget about Landon! Landon didn't marry an ordinary person; this marriage is almost unbreakable. So even if Caitlyn went to Bostan, it wouldn't change the outcome! Now that Landon is a married man, Caitlyn should stop thinking about him. You shouldn't worry too much about Caitlyn either. You're younger than Caitlyn, and if you keep pampering her, she will be even less willing to face the issue."

As he said this, Amara kept looking at him.

Kingsley snorted lightly. "Never seen such a handsome man?"

Amara answered honestly, "No, I haven't."

Kingsley's blue eyes looked at her for a long while. Then he took a napkin to wipe his lips and patted Jesse beside him. "I'm off to the company!"

Jesse immediately hugged Snowflake. "Goodbye, Dad!"

Kingsley laughed. Jesse just wanted to hold Snowflake more; he was just like his mom!

After Kingsley left, Hailey arrived in less than an hour.

Amara asked for her help, and Hailey was more than willing. Besides, it was great that Nicole could come and live with them.

Hailey told Amara, "Actually, I prefer it this way! Now that Billy is making money, I'm afraid he might get frivolous, so Naomi must stay by his side. With Nicole with me, the couple can focus on their careers without any constraints."

Amara asked about Billy's current situation and was happy for him.

At that moment, Jesse ran over and hugged Hailey who missed him a lot too!

With Hailey there, Amara felt at ease to go to the company.

Around noon, Amara called back, and a servant answered, stammering, "Ms. Robinson is up now, sitting with Mr. Jesse Hawkins, waiting for Hailey's ravioli."

Amara sighed and thought, 'Well, that's good!'

She hung up the phone and sat in her leather chair, silently thinking about Caitlyn.

Bringing Caitlyn back wasn't just about giving her a place to stay. Caitlyn had caused quite a bit of trouble, and her parents wouldn't easily let her off. But no matter what, Caitlyn's parents wouldn't dare to make a scene there.

She owed Kingsley another favor.

As she was thinking, the internal line on her desk rang. She picked it up and heard the secretary's sweet voice. "Ms. Butler! Mr. Hawkins has scheduled a golf game with you this afternoon. Can we set a convenient time?"

Didn't they have breakfast together this morning? Why didn't Kingsley mention it then and instead have the secretary relay the message?

Amara thought for a moment and said, "Three o'clock in the afternoon."

After hanging up, she took out her phone and opened Facebook, slowly typing a few words: [You're so boring! Childish!]

About half an hour later, Kingsley replied: [When I was lying in your bed last night, you didn't express it that way. You seemed eager to make love with me.]

Amara felt a blush creeping up her cheeks. Kingsley, as usual, had hit the nail on the head, stirring emotions she tried to keep buried. She was a woman with sexual needs too. Kingsley dressed like that every day, parading in front of her; of course, she couldn't be completely unaffected.

Before three in the afternoon, Amara received another piece of news.

Floyd agreed to invest in the Carter Group's branch project, which was a huge surprise for Amara. She urgently called a meeting, instructing the PR department to publicize the news.

Sure enough, before the stock market closed in the afternoon, the Carter Group's stock hit the upper limit.

Landon even called specifically. "Amara, I knew I wasn't wrong about you! This time, you've done a great job!"

Amara smiled lightly. "As long as I don't disappoint you."

Ending the call, Amara was in a great mood.

At that moment, Kingsley called, his tone very displeased. "What time is it? Why aren't you here yet?"

Amara looked at the time; it was already five o'clock.

She apologized to Kingsley. "Sorry, something came up! How about we reschedule?"

Kingsley lowered his voice. "Fine! But tonight, you have to make love with me, and then we can reschedule."
