Chapter 901 I Want to Get Married, I'm Serious 2
Sienna's eyes were glistening with tears.
After a long pause, she gently brushed the corner of his eye and spoke softly, "If only you hadn't cheated back then! Maybe I could have loved you for a long, long time!"
"Bruce, do you know how long I waited for you to propose? I waited for so long."
Bruce replied in a low voice, "I didn't know! Sienna, why didn't you tell me earlier?"
Sienna lowered her hand and gave a faint smile, "Tell you, only to be rejected? Bruce, maybe the timing of love really matters! You say you like me now, but I just don't have the same feelings anymore. After what happened with Freya, to me, you're like money that's been smeared with filth—disgusting to keep around."
Bruce's face darkened, "Disgusting? You seemed to enjoy it just fine those few days."
She pushed him, "Get up! Bruce, you should go! Don't think you're the only one I can marry. I could go out on the street blindfolded and still find plenty of men who'd want to marry me. Why should I choose you?"
But Sienna couldn't push Bruce away.
He stayed still, staring at her, making Sienna nervous, "What are you doing? Don't tell me you're thinking about that again. I'm telling you, I don't need it right now!"
Her waist was still sore!
Bruce finally spoke, "We have to get married."
He took out his phone and showed Sienna a video.
Sienna watched for a few seconds and exploded with anger!
It was a steamy video of her and Bruce.
Though it wasn't very clear, you could still make out her face if you looked closely.
She jumped up immediately. As a model and celebrity, if this got out...
Bruce's voice was low, "Sorry! It's already out."
He continued, "Both our families used all their resources but couldn't stop it. So, Sienna, whether it's for your reputation or our companies' stocks, it's best if we get married."
Sienna paused, understanding, "So, get married now and divorce after the risk is over?"
Bruce nodded, "Something like that."
He unconsciously adopted a business negotiation tone.
Sienna was furious, "Bruce, why should I accept you as second-hand goods? I don't want to marry you! Let the stocks drop, I don't care."
"How am I second-hand goods?"
Bruce grabbed her waist, his eyes deep and serious, "This isn't about whether you care or not. I believe our families' wealth could last ten lifetimes, but what about the thousands of employees?"
Sienna bit her lip, her eyes moist.
Bruce's voice softened, "Your parents think the same. They're more concerned about saving your reputation."
He didn't want to say it, but he did, "A video like that is always bad for a woman! If we get married, it won't affect your life. Even if we divorce later and you remarry, it won't matter."
Bruce's analysis was clear and practical.
But he didn't consider that Sienna didn't want to marry him!
Sienna turned to the side, covering her eyes with her hand, looking vulnerable.
Bruce couldn't help but want to kiss her.
She gently stopped him, her voice soft, "Bruce, I need some time alone! I'll think about your proposal."
She knew Bruce made sense.
Marrying Bruce would solve the problem. How they lived their married life was their business. If they divorced in a year or two, they'd just be another divorced couple. The matter would be over.
But marrying Bruce felt like settling.
Bruce had let her down so much. Loving someone and not getting a happy ending, only to be forced into marriage by a video, was absurd.
Sienna knew she was a perfectionist.
If she hadn't loved him so much before, she might have happily accepted this marriage and worked hard at it. After all, Bruce was one of the best catches in Seattle.
She had loved him and knew what that felt like.
So now, marriage felt like a compromise.
Bruce didn't leave immediately. He propped himself up with one hand and gently stroked her face with the other, his eyes full of longing. He knew he liked her now.
What he said about PR was just that—PR.
He genuinely wanted to marry Sienna now!
Bruce's voice was gentle, "I'll go now. Don't go out for the next few days. Call me if you need anything. As for the marriage, Sienna, it's just a proposal, but I think I could be a good husband if you give me a chance."
He leaned in to hug Sienna.
Sienna's body stiffened, letting Bruce hug her.
Just days ago, they had been so intimate without awkwardness.
But now, with emotions and marriage involved, they both felt uneasy.
Sienna didn't speak or respond, leaving Bruce feeling disappointed.
His face buried in her neck, he asked softly, "Do you really not love me anymore?"
Sienna bit her lip, her voice nasal, "I don't love you anymore!"
But there was a hint of defiance.
Bruce cupped Sienna's face, looking deeply into her eyes, then kissed her nose.
This kiss was different from before.
Before, he saw Sienna as a beautiful woman. Now, he saw her as a girl, a girl who was upset with him. His kiss was full of tenderness, his heart pounding.
It was a feeling he never had before.
Sienna kicked Bruce, urging him to leave!
Bruce's gaze was deep and unreadable. He finally grabbed her foot, gently stroking it, his voice hoarse, "So obedient!"
She was clearly being fierce, but he found her obedient.
Sienna thought he was a pervert.
Bruce gently stroked her face and smiled.
Sometimes, couples' arguments are subtle. Even while arguing, they can find sweetness. That's how Bruce felt now. Whatever Sienna did, he found her adorable.
Marcella said, once you find a girl adorable, you're in love.
Bruce thought carefully, comparing his feelings for Freya. With Freya, it was novelty, but he didn't feel comfortable. Sometimes, he even felt uneasy.
But with Sienna, he always wanted to hold her.
He thought, he must really be in love!
While he was lost in thought, Lonnie shouted, "Bruce, what are you thinking?"
Lonnie took a sip of coffee, "Everyone's busy solving your mess, and you're daydreaming!"
Bruce leaned back in his chair, expressionless, "Dad, if you had been more careful, would the Taylor Group be in such a mess now?"
Lonnie's face turned red.
After a moment, he snorted, "Can you honestly say you don't want this marriage?"
Bruce's eyes were full of emotion, and he said softly, "I do!"
He wanted to be with Sienna.
