Chapter 594 His Love with Amara Has Finally Come to an End!

The vibe in the room was super tense.

Kingsley looked cold and distant, like all the passion and sweat from before had never even happened.

Amara felt so embarrassed.

Her lips quivered, and she wanted to spill her background a few times, but she just couldn't get the words out.

When Kingsley told her the $400,000 was a one-time deal, she knew it was over!

Maybe she shouldn't have followed him to Syeattel. Maybe it was better if he just thought she was shallow. Hatred faded, but memories lingered.

Amara clutched the blanket tighter and placed the ring on the bedside table.

That ring was never hers to begin with!

She got out of bed, not bothering to cover up, and slowly started putting on her clothes. They were still damp and uncomfortable, but she didn't care.

She was as eager to leave now as she had been to see him earlier. Her hands shook as she fastened the last button.

Kingsley just kept staring at her.

Finally, Amara finished dressing and said goodbye. This was it for them. "I'm leaving. I won't bother you again."

Kingsley didn't move. The dim light cast a yellow glow on his handsome face, but the passion from earlier was gone. There was even a hint of hatred in his eyes.

As Amara reached the door, he called out, "Wait a minute!"

Amara froze.

Kingsley picked up a check for two million dollars from the table and walked over to her.

He gently placed it in her hand, his tone icy. "Remember to take your medicine!"

Amara's eyes filled with tears.

But she tilted her head to keep them from falling. After a moment, she suppressed her emotions and said quietly, "Mr. Hawkins, don't worry; I'll take my medicine. As for the check, it's not necessary. I didn't lose out."

She didn't want to stay any longer and left quickly.

The check slipped from Kingsley's hand and fell to the floor. He stood there for a long time before picking it up and tearing it in half.

He walked to the bedside table and picked up the ring.

His fingers gently stroked the ring, which still seemed to carry Amara's warmth, just like the bed still seemed to have the dampness of her sweat.

But he had driven her away himself.

She wouldn't come back, would she?

They were finally over!

Kingsley thought to himself mockingly, 'This was a relationship that shouldn't have started. I've always been the one chasing her. It's better to let it go.'

Amara went downstairs.

The early summer dawn was still chilly, especially since her clothes were still wet. Luckily, the rain had stopped.

There were no taxis in the middle of the night, and she didn't feel like calling one. She walked slowly to a nearby 24-hour pharmacy and bought a box of birth control pills.

When Amara paid, the cashier couldn't help but glance at her, thinking she looked so miserable that she must have been bullied.

The cashier got Amara a cup of warm water.

Amara thanked her, and as she swallowed the pill, the cashier, a mother in her 40s, felt a bit of pity.

But they were strangers, so she didn't say much.

When Amara walked out, the sky was already starting to brighten. She wandered aimlessly down the street. Occasionally, passing cars splashed muddy water on her, soaking her clothes.

She had no idea how far she had walked or how long it had been. It wasn't until the morning light softened that she found herself back at the small motel where she was staying. She was starving and exhausted but couldn't sleep. Instead, she pulled out her diary and birth certificate from her luggage.

She flipped through them over and over.

Finally, she lit a fire and burned them!

From now on, no one would know her background, not even Kingsley.

After burning them, Amara curled up on the small bed and pulled the blanket over herself.

She fell asleep and dreamed she was back in the past, where she was still the little bunny well taken care of by Kingsley. In her dream, she kept trying to tell him, "I actually like you!"

She woke up with tears in the corners of her eyes.

Amara sat on the bed in a daze for a long time. Slowly, she wiped away the tears. She thought she needed to pull herself together and live her life well.

Now, Kingsley was like the moon in the sky to her.

She didn't dare to think about him anymore.

Amara made a call to Stellaria City. The landlady there guessed her situation and only said she was welcome to come back to work.

Amara softly said thank you.

The landlady was lost in thought for a long time before saying, "Don't think too much. There will always be work for you when you come back."

Originally, Amara was supposed to return to Stellaria City in the afternoon, but something held her back.

Someone knocked on the door. When she opened it, she saw a stranger, but he was well-dressed.

The man smiled warmly, "You must be Amara! My name is Maurice Hughes."

Hearing that, Amara forcefully closed the door.

She leaned against the door, her heart pounding. She didn't understand why someone from the Hughes Family would find her here.

Maurice was her father's brother.

Maurice patiently waited outside. From Amara's reaction, he guessed that she knew her background but didn't want to acknowledge it.

He knocked on the door again.

Half an hour later, Amara opened the door. Maurice smiled slightly. "You should call me Uncle Maurice! Amara, let's talk."

They ended up in an unremarkable little café.

Amara said expressionlessly, "I lost my parents when I was young. I'm not the person Mr. Hughes is looking for. Please don't look for me again. I don't want my life to be disturbed."

Maurice wasn't surprised by her attitude.

He still smiled gently, truly charming. Upon closer inspection, Amara did bear some resemblance to him, but Amara despised this similarity.

Maurice said, "I know you and Kingsley probably had a falling out. Both your father and I hope you can return to the Hughes Family. You can be the legitimate daughter of the Hughes Family and then marry Kingsley in a grand ceremony."

Amara was stunned. She guessed they just wanted to use her to form an alliance with the Hawkins Family.

She lowered her eyes and smiled faintly. "You've got the wrong person! Kingsley and I have completely broken up! I'm afraid I can't fulfill your wish, and besides, I don't want to be a Hughes!"

Maurice was surprised.

He had thought that the Amara in front of him was very simple and easy to control, that she would be willing to follow the family's arrangements if given some benefits. But he didn't expect her to be somewhat clever.

Despite having many things beyond her control and being weak, Amara now had nothing left to lose and feared no one.

She said softly, "Don't look for me again, or I don't mind letting others know that Mr. Zachary Hughes has an illegitimate daughter and how tragically his lover died."

After saying that, she tugged at the corner of her mouth, her smile faint.

Maurice was even more surprised.

He watched Amara leave and couldn't help but try to stop her. "Your father is abroad and asked me to keep you here. You should at least meet him once."

"He didn't give birth to me, nor did he raise me. There's no need for us to meet." Amara left without looking back.

Maurice thought to himself, 'Amara is quite strong-willed, but it's clear she's been through a lot.'

He took out his phone and made a call. After a while, a stern voice came through. "Maurice, how did the talk go? The future of the Hughes Group depends on her now."

Maurice smiled bitterly. "She refused!"

The person on the other end was somewhat exasperated. "She doesn't know what's good for her, just like her mother!"

Zachary said some more unpleasant things.

Maurice couldn't listen any longer and couldn't help but say, "Isn't this your fault? If you hadn't lied about not having a family back then, none of this would have happened. Amara is actually innocent! She seems to be living a hard life. Don't you have any pity for her at all? Is it all just about using her? After all, she is your biological daughter!"

There was a long silence on the other end.

When Maurice left, he bought some items from a nearby pastry shop and had them delivered to Amara at the motel's front desk. He thought he should have brought Evelyn today to buy her some clothes.

The Hughes Group might not be what it once was, but they were still capable of taking care of Evelyn.

He would come back another day!

Not long after Amara returned to her room, the receptionist delivered the items, saying they were from Maurice.

Amara looked at the items: two large bags of food, which didn't look cheap.

The receptionist smiled and said, "That gentleman looked very distinguished and somewhat resembled you. Is he a relative?"

Amara shook her head.

After some thought, she took the items back to her room but didn't eat them.

She didn't want to have anything to do with the Hughes Family, nor did she want to chase after him to return the items. She just wanted to leave Syeattel, so she booked a train ticket for 8 PM that night.

After getting the ticket, she stared at it for a long time.

She was reluctant to leave Kingsley.

But this train was like her fate; it was destined to take her away from here. She went out and had a plate of pasta. As she ate, tears fell into the plate.

"What's wrong?" a waiter asked.

Amara shook her head. "Nothing! I'm fine!"

She was just reluctant to leave Kingsley. Even though he hated her, she still remembered his kindness, like when he applied hand cream on her while she slept, or when he found excuses to go to the supermarket with her, or when he spent all the money in her pocket and looked so happy.

She found the pasta tasteless, but she finished it anyway. This was no big deal because she might have to endure a lot more hardship in the future.

In the evening, she took her small luggage and took the bus to the train station.

But when she got to the train station, she changed her plans.

She didn't go to Stellaria City.

Amara took a taxi, then a bus, and finally carpooled with someone to Bostan.

She wanted to start fresh.

She called the breakfast shop owner to apologize, saying softly, "I can't go back to Stellaria City. Thank you for everything."

The landlady could only sigh.

After making that call, Amara removed her SIM card and bought a new one that wasn't tied to her identity.

In the early morning, at a bus stop in Bostan, there were few people around.

Amara got off the bus with her luggage. The morning light shone on her, following her as she slowly moved and eventually blending into the crowd.

At the Hawkins Group, Kingsley was in a bad mood all day, and the entire company felt the oppressive atmosphere. Rebecca, as the chief secretary, was especially on edge.

In the afternoon, she went to the rooftop and called Amara.

There were only two days left before the trip to Libytania, and she had to complete the task Charlotte had given her.

She planned to invite Amara to a meal to talk.

She thought that Amara, who was so reluctant to leave Kingsley, would be willing to stay at the Hawkins Group's branch for Kingsley.

Young people, breaking up and getting back together was normal.

But Rebecca couldn't get through to her.

Amara's phone was off?

Rebecca checked her phone and called again an hour later, but it was still off.

She felt something was wrong and quickly tried to find out Amara's whereabouts. Using her connections, she found out that Amara had left Syeattel the night before and returned to Stellaria City. She breathed a sigh of relief, thinking Amara was probably still angry.

Rebecca decided to go to Stellaria City herself.

Before that, she contacted the breakfast shop owner. A few minutes later, Rebecca's hand holding the phone dropped, and she was shocked.

Amara was gone, not to Stellaria City, but to an unknown place, leaving everyone clueless about her whereabouts.

Rebecca stood alone in the secretary's office for a long time, thinking. Finally, she decided to tell Kingsley, even if their relationship might really be over.

She knocked on the door of the president's office. Kingsley was reading a document.

His tone was very indifferent. "Cancel all my appointments for today!"

Rebecca didn't speak. After a while, he looked up. "Is there something you need?"

After a moment, Rebecca said softly, "Mr. Hawkins, Amara is gone!"

Kingsley's pen paused, and then he said in a very calm tone, "She went back to Stellaria City, right? That's good; she has familiar people there."

Rebecca stared at him.

After a long time, her voice was even softer. "No! She didn't go back to Stellaria City. I called and confirmed she didn't go back. No one knows where she went. She must be deliberately hiding her whereabouts!"

Rebecca choked up. "She probably won't come back! You might never see her again in this lifetime! I don't know what happened between you two or what misunderstandings there were! But Amara is not a scheming girl; she genuinely liked you!"

Kingsley kept looking at Rebecca.

His handsome face was backlit, making it hard to see his expression.

He spoke softly, "Do you like her?"

Rebecca just stated, "I liked her because you liked her! Mr. Hawkins, as a career woman, I don't have much emotion to spare for others."

She suddenly let out a bitter laugh. "Amara leaving is even a relief for me! But I'm not happy about it."

After saying that, she left.

The door closed softly, and Kingsley remained seated, his expression unreadable.
