Sienna spoke up, her voice firm, "Yes!"
She turned over, lying on her side to look at him, her gaze softening. "Bruce, if we get divorced, I don't think I'll ever get married again. Maybe I'll date, but that's it. I agree to one year, not just for us, but also to give Will a chance to have a father."
Bruce's voice took on a dangerous edge, "What did you say? Say it again."
Sienna was confused.
"I won't get married again."
"Not that part."
"To give Will a chance to have a father."
"Not that part either."
Bruce touched her face, his voice dropping to a whisper, "You said you'd date other people."
Sienna looked at him like he was crazy.
She pushed his hand away and said, "If we get divorced, of course I'll date. Whoever heard of staying celibate for an ex-husband?"
"I won't!"
Bruce said softly, "Even if we get divorced, I won't date anyone else. I might not be able to stop you from dating, but I think I'd follow you around a lot. Seeing you with someone else, I might not be able to stop myself from getting into fights."
Sienna glared at him, "Since when did you become so possessive?"
"You don't understand men."
Bruce reached out and pulled her into his arms. He was tall, and even though Sienna was considered tall, she still felt delicate in his embrace. She hesitated for a moment but then rested her face against his chest.
His shirt was unbuttoned at the top, revealing his chest.
Sophisticated yet sexy.
Bruce looked down at Sienna, smoothing her long hair, his voice even lower, "You don't understand men. If we were just dating, breaking up would be simple. But once we've been married, it's different. Even if we divorce, I'll still see you as my wife, the mother of my child. My male instincts won't let me share you with anyone else. Dating is out of the question, and sex is even more so."
Sienna had never heard this kind of reasoning before.
She called him shameless.
Bruce grabbed her hand and slid it inside his shirt, his voice warm and a bit impulsive, "It's a man's possessiveness! Sienna, kiss me!"
She refused.
At that moment, Bruce's emotions reached a peak. Even if they weren't doing anything intimate, he still craved contact with her. He turned over and gently pressed her down, kissing her deeply.
Sienna lightly punched him, her voice breaking, "You're so annoying!"
Bruce kissed her like a wolf, for a long time.
Finally, he calmed down.
He lay beside her neck, whispering, "Just thinking about you dating someone else makes me want to devour you."
Sienna smiled faintly.
Bruce could tell she still had feelings for him, but expecting her to come back to him immediately was impossible. Sienna wasn't the young girl she used to be; she was Will's mother now.
He wasn't in a hurry; he had a year to win her back.
They played sweetly together.
It seemed like it had been a long time since they had been this relaxed. Later, Bruce thought for a moment and said, "You know, kids are the best birth control! Think about it, if it weren't for Will, we'd be back together by now."
Sienna blushed.
She knew he was being cheeky, but she pretended not to understand.
She said, "Without Will, we'd have already said goodbye."
Bruce nodded in agreement, "True!"
He pulled her close, lying side by side. He wanted to talk about the past, but realized most of it wasn't pleasant, so he decided against it.
Besides, they didn't have any mutual friends.
Bruce suddenly realized their marriage was fragile.
Sienna was tired and yawned, "Bruce, are you going through menopause? You're so sentimental!"
But she leaned against his chest again, whispering, "But physical attraction is what draws women."
He looked at her with gentle eyes.
They talked all night, and the next day, Sienna couldn't take it anymore and slept in.
Bruce went to find Lonnie and Marcella.
But Lonnie and Marcella had taken Will back to Seattle early in the morning, calling to say they were giving the couple some alone time.
