Chapter 226 Is Cici's Dad Flirting with Her

Lola kinda got it but just nodded anyway.

Kids, never really got the big stuff. All she knew was she was getting a new mom, and she was stoked, wolfing down twice what she usually ate that night.

Dana was all smiles. "Lola was awesome today!"

Lola struck a deal with her dad. "If I see Ms. Russell every day, I'll eat this much every day!"

Frederick was chilling on the couch, dealing with some work. He glanced over, barely interested. "If you wanna see Ms. Russell, figure it out yourself!"

Lola pouted and ran over, snuggling into Frederick's arms. "Dad, you're useless!"

Frederick didn't say a word. He shoved the papers aside, hugged Lola, and rested his chin on her soft golden curls. His voice was rough. "I made her mad! Lola, can you bring Mom back home?"

Lola lay on his shoulder and agreed. "I wanna play the piano!"

Frederick looked around the villa, realizing he forgot to buy a piano. But since his little princess wanted to play, he drove her out himself.

Half an hour later, a black Maybach pulled up in front of an apartment building!

The place hadn't changed a bit.

Whenever Frederick missed Charlotte and had nowhere to go, he'd come here alone, sit in the living room, and smoke a few cigarettes. Once he felt a bit better, he'd rush back.

He had Lola to take care of!

After opening the door, Lola said she liked it here.

Frederick's voice was rough. "This is where your Mom and I used to hang out. This 'Morning Dew' was a gift from me to her. Later, I made her mad, and she didn't want it anymore!"

Lola suddenly felt a bit nervous and asked, "Does she not want me either?"

Frederick squatted down, looking at Lola seriously. "She doesn't know about you! She thinks you... She loves you very much!"

Lola kinda got it but not really. But she was born confident. "I think if she knew she had such a cute kid like me, she definitely wouldn't leave."

Frederick smiled a bit.

He kissed Lola's cheek and placed her in front of the piano.

Lola had only taken one lesson, but she had a natural talent and played pretty well.

Frederick stood by the window, watching Lola.

In her white dress, Lola sat up straight.

He thought he saw Charlotte!

Lola finished playing a simple piece and looked up, expecting praise. But when she met her Dad's gaze, she was stunned. His eyes were so gentle!

On the way back, Frederick carried Lola downstairs.

Lola thought, 'Usually, Dad makes me walk, but today it's like I have no legs and need to be carried! Men in love are just weird!'

Frederick really missed Charlotte.

When she was in Vienner, it was okay he couldn't see her. But now that she's in Syeattel, he still had to hold back his feelings, which he felt was really bad for his health.

Lola was singing in the bathroom while taking a bath.

Frederick was half-leaning on the couch, feeling a bit lazy.

He took Lola's phone and started texting Charlotte: [Ms. Russell, I'm Cici's Dad!]

Charlotte had just finished her bath when she got a message from an unknown number. Turned out it was from Cici's Dad. Her first impression of this Lincoln car owner wasn't great.

But he was Cici's Dad.

Charlotte had to talk to him properly. She tried to use a very professional tone to discuss Cici's piano progress, but he seemed a bit off.

Charlotte typed a question mark.

After a while, Cici's Dad replied: [Cici says you are very beautiful!]

Charlotte felt a bit offended!

She hesitated for a sec but still sent a message telling him to be respectful.

Frederick saw those words and smirked, feeling kinda pleased. He could almost picture Charlotte's angry and embarrassed face.

It had been three years with zero contact between them.

Even during holidays, any greetings were met with silence.

Now, he could flirt with her under the guise of "Cici's Dad," which was pretty thrilling for a guy. Frederick was totally into it.

Lola came out of the bathroom in her onesie.

Frederick quickly deleted the chat history and hugged Lola to dry her hair.

Charlotte had a dream that night. She dreamt of Lola. For some reason, in the dream, Lola's face overlapped with Cici's, and she called her Mom.

Charlotte woke up from the dream. She sat quietly on the bed for a long time, unable to shake it off.

After a while, she gently touched her lower abdomen, where Lola had once been. Three years had passed, and almost all traces of Lola in this world had disappeared.

Charlotte didn't want to forget. She couldn't bear to forget.

Early in the morning, she went to the Hawkins family cemetery.

Three years had passed, and the cemetery had changed a lot. The caretaker had aged significantly. Seeing Charlotte, he greeted her warmly, led her inside, and chatted a lot.

"In the past two years, Frederick planted many colorful roses here, all imported from Manilove, filling the entire cemetery!"

Charlotte was also shocked.

The once lifeless cemetery was now a rose garden of a quarter-acre, in full bloom.

Because it was a private cemetery, outsiders couldn't enter. Many people took photos and videos from outside, and it had become a tourist attraction.

Charlotte held a bouquet of lilies and stood in front of the small tombstone, which was different from before.

A stone tablet, embedded in the ground, with names engraved on it.

'Frederick & Charlotte.'

There was no mention of Lola.

Charlotte gently touched it, feeling a sharp pain inside!

This place, rather than being a child's grave, looked more like a love tomb.

She stayed quietly for a long time. The caretaker, knowing she was in a bad mood, softly said, "Frederick comes here every Valentine's Day and stays for the whole day!"

'Valentine's Day?' Charlotte didn't know why Frederick chose that day to come, and she didn't ask. She just softly said, "Stop talking!"

She gently placed the lilies down and quietly left.

Charlotte was in a low mood all day.

After giving birth to Lola, she had suffered from severe depression and had taken medication for a year to fully recover. Visiting the cemetery today had affected her mood.

At noon, Lily invited her for coffee.

Charlotte thought about it and agreed, arriving at their usual coffee spot.

Lily was already waiting there.

Charlotte walked in, and Lily waved. "Over here!"

Charlotte sat down and looked at her, who was in a white business suit. "You are looking good. It seems like your career is going well!"

Lily sighed. "Just following Bradley around! You know me, I don't have much ability and can't achieve anything big. Just holding a minor position in the company, and it gives me a chance to keep an eye on Bradley, to prevent him from messing around!"

Charlotte smiled. "Bradley seems to have settled down!"

Lily brushed her hair. "I mainly need something to do, or it will be too idle at home!"

Charlotte didn't ask further. It was not her place to pry into their private life.

She slowly sipped her coffee.

Lily, being her friend for many years, knew her well. "You look like you've gotten tangled up with Frederick again. Your face says it all!"
