Chapter 415 I'll Only Give You One Chance

Gavin shot a quick look at his mom.

Holding Andrew, he mumbled, "Mom never said that."

Andrew gave a small smile.

He wasn't that clueless.

He messed up his son's soft, golden hair, which was super cute.

Of course, Andrew loved the kid.

He held his son with one arm and lugged the bags with the other, not wanting Chloe to lift a finger.

Chloe shut the car door and shot him a frosty glare.

Andrew felt a pang of disappointment.

Over the years, she was always thrilled to see him.

He felt a bit down but still managed a faint smile as he led his son inside.

The villa was massive, like 8,000 square feet. Nathan had hired two gardeners and four maids to keep the place in shape and added some furniture and stuff Chloe liked.

Andrew carried Gavin to his room.

He set Gavin on the small bed and took off his coat. Gavin didn't usually get this close to him.

He was a bit shy.

Andrew squatted down and said softly, "Let me see the wound!"

He lifted the white sweater, revealing a small 4-centimeter cut on his lower abdomen. The wound wasn't huge, but it was enough to make a dad's heart ache.

Andrew gently touched it and asked, "Do you blame me?"

Gavin shook his head.

But under Andrew's gaze, he slowly nodded, but didn't cry.

Andrew leaned in, forehead to forehead with Gavin, and said hoarsely, "I'll always be with you from now on!"

Gavin hugged his neck, being extra obedient.

Andrew's phone buzzed in his pocket.

He checked the caller ID; it was Celeste.

Andrew answered, thinking it must be about Molly.

Sure enough, Celeste's voice was tense. "Andrew, you actually let the Jackson family fight me for Molly! And you let Frederick take this case."

Andrew was quiet for a moment.

He whispered, "If you treated Molly well, no one would mess with your life! This kid shouldn't have been born in the first place, and now she shouldn't be your pawn. You know how she got pneumonia last time. Stop it, give yourself and your daughter a break!"

Celeste chuckled lightly. "I know, I can't win this case! Andrew, the Hawkins family really has your back! Frederick left law for Charlotte, and now he's taking a case for you! It's really touching!"

Before Andrew could reply, Celeste hung up.

Andrew stared at his phone.

Gavin, standing beside him, had a tense little face; he had heard the whole thing.

It was that Molly again!

Andrew snapped back to reality.

He ruffled Gavin's hair. "That's a kid of my subordinate."

Gavin lay on his dad's shoulder. He seemed to be deep in thought.

Chloe came to the second floor and pushed open the master bedroom door.

The decor was super pretty and romantic, especially the floor-to-ceiling windows with light lace curtains. Chloe loved it at first sight.

She stood there quietly.

Her eyes were misty.

She looked at the sunset outside the floor-to-ceiling window, painting the sky red.

She lowered her head to look at the diamond ring Andrew had given her.

When Andrew came in after putting their son to bed, he saw her fiddling with the ring, deep in thought.

He walked over and hugged her waist from behind.

Chloe didn't push him away, but she didn't respond either. She just asked softly, "Is Gavin asleep?"

Andrew nodded.

He said, "Let's take him to the hospital for a check-up tomorrow! I always worry."

Chloe didn't put up a fight.

Gavin liked Andrew, and if he was down to spend time with their kid, she had no reason to be against it.

Her vibe was icy.

Andrew felt like crap. He had a million ways to charm people, but right now, using any of them would just be disrespectful to her. In the end, he just gave her a light kiss. "I'll go whip up some dinner!"

Chloe stopped him. "The maids will handle it."

Andrew came back.

He stood in front of her, gently brushing her hair aside, his voice rough. "Do you feel sorry for me?"

Chloe turned her head away. "No, I don't!"

Andrew's gaze was intense.

After a moment, he gently said, "I'm heading downstairs! Let me know if you need anything."

Chloe stopped him again.

She stood there, with the whole sunset behind her, making her look all dreamy.

"Andrew, I don't tolerate betrayal! I'll give you one chance," she slowly walked to his side, speaking softly but firmly. "When this is over, we'll have our wedding."

Andrew nodded.

They locked eyes, their gazes full of meaning.

In the past, Andrew loved Chloe, but it was more about caring for a young girl. He liked her delicate ways, liked how she clung to him and called him Andrew.

Now she had grown into a woman, and this feeling was even more intoxicating.

Andrew went downstairs to make dinner.

Chloe tidied up a bit and started reading a script.

This script was recommended by Charlotte, who said it was perfect for her to play a young lady.

Chloe liked it too. She was totally into it.

Andrew came upstairs to call her for dinner, and she looked up, her neck a bit sore.

Andrew picked up the script and flipped through a few pages.

He couldn't help but laugh.

Chloe was a bit embarrassed and annoyed. Yeah, the script was a bit childish, but she was a newbie and couldn't start with serious roles right away!

She reached for it, but accidentally fell onto him.

They ended up rolling onto the sofa, tangled up in a very suggestive way.

Even though they had been intimate many times, the sudden closeness still made them both uneasy.

Chloe felt awkward and tucked her hair behind her ear.

"Get up!"

Andrew didn't get up; instead, he hugged her and gently kissed her lips. "Are you still mad?"

She honestly nodded. Her expression was just like Gavin's.

A sense of desire and tenderness filled Andrew's heart.

His face pressed against hers, their hot skin touching, and he whispered, "I'll make it up to you, okay? Don't be mad. A pretty girl like you shouldn't frown; it'll cause wrinkles."

Chloe was pinned under him. She couldn't move.

Her eyes reddened. "If it weren't for Frederick, I wouldn't have come back with you."

At that time, Frederick had said, "Whether the road ahead is good or bad, you have to walk to the end to know! If it doesn't work out, turn back; I'll always be here for you."

Chloe was grateful to have Frederick always standing behind her.

She angrily hit him. It was both a vent and a small crack in the ice.

Andrew leaned in to kiss her, caressing the mature woman's body.

After all, they still had to eat, so he didn't go too far.

The following days were chill.

The Devereux family and the Hawkins family were both powerful.

Frederick was the best lawyer in the game; there was no case he couldn't win.

The case went smoothly.

In the first trial, Molly was awarded to Luke's parents, who were over the moon then.

They brought Molly and made a special trip up to Syeattel to thank Andrew.

They didn't give him a heads-up and only told the gatekeeper when they got to the villa.

Andrew was hanging out with his son.

A maid came over, looking a bit uneasy. "Andrew, there are two people at the door who want to see you! They also brought a cute little girl."

Andrew had a hunch who it was and felt a bit troubled.

He glanced at Chloe.

Her eyes were a bit red, but she was understanding. "They're already here! You should see them!"

Andrew held her shoulder and gave it a gentle pat.

Chloe didn't want to meet anyone and went upstairs.

Andrew watched her go for a moment and then told the maid, "Let them in!"

Gavin asked, "Is it Molly?"

Andrew was pretty surprised.

Just then, Luke's parents came in with Molly, bringing a bunch of goodies from Copenhegan. Luke's mom had also thoughtfully bought some stuff for Gavin.

She looked at Gavin warmly. "This must be Gavin! Nathan always said he was a handsome boy."

Gavin looked all innocent.

Andrew felt a bit better hearing his son being praised.

He also liked Molly, but out of respect for Chloe's feelings, he didn't go to hug her.

Molly's round little face looked a bit disappointed.

Gavin went over to hug her. "Dad's busy. I'll hug you instead!"

Andrew was even more surprised.

Luke's parents just thought the two kids got along well and let them play. Little did they know, behind the scenes, Gavin had scared Molly to the point of almost crying but she didn't dare to say anything.

When Molly came back to the hall, she fussed about wanting to leave.

Luke's parents had a lot to discuss with Andrew.

For example, they wanted to leave Molly in Syeattel, thinking it would be best with Andrew looking after her.

But Molly refused. She looked at Gavin and bit her lip lightly.

Luke's parents had no choice but to leave regretfully, not even staying for a meal.

After seeing off Luke's parents, Andrew turned around to see his shy, blushing little son sitting on the sofa reading a fairy tale book, sitting very straight and proper.

Andrew was very pleased.

He went upstairs to comfort Chloe, knowing she must have felt bad about the earlier situation.

On the second floor, Chloe was leaning against the floor-to-ceiling window, quietly looking at the scenery.

Andrew walked over and spoke softly, "Are you mad?"

Chloe turned her face to look at him.

Her facial lines were very smooth, and in the soft light, she looked very gentle.

Andrew couldn't help but touch her face.

Chloe said softly, "They came all the way here. I'm not that unreasonable! Why didn't you keep them for a meal?"

Andrew smiled. "Molly was fussing about leaving. She's not usually like this! She's usually very well-behaved, but today she couldn't stay still."

Chloe looked at him.

Andrew realized he had misspoken.

He asked her softly, "Are you still mad at me? Now that everything is settled, with Luke's parents taking care of Molly, there's nothing to worry about anymore!"

Chloe made a sound of agreement. She didn't have a detailed plan.

But having been with Andrew for so long, and knowing the kind of person he was, he could still understand her thoughts. The atmosphere was good, and after all, it had been a long time since they had talked like this.

Andrew unbuttoned two buttons on his shirt.

He hesitated and said, "Should I close the door?"

Chloe hesitated. "Gavin is still downstairs!"

Andrew had already locked the door. When he came back, he picked her up and pressed her against the floor-to-ceiling window.

He touched and kissed her, his voice muffled. "He's reading a book! I think it's good for him to stay with Frederick for a while; Frederick is great with kids."

He was urgent.

Chloe tilted her neck, half resisting, half giving in.

After a month of chaos, they had been living together but hadn't been intimate even once.

At this moment, Andrew couldn't hold back anymore.

In his eagerness, he quickly drew the curtains and took her right there.

Andrew often couldn't control himself, and this indulgence lasted until eight in the evening.

The maid came to call them twice.

There was no response from inside, and the door wouldn't open, so the maid sensibly went downstairs to take care of Gavin.

The bedroom was pitch dark.

Chloe turned over, lying in the same sweaty embrace.

As she moved, Andrew found her lips and gently touched them. "Are you hungry?"

Chloe felt a bit shy.

She pulled the blanket over herself and nodded softly. "Yes! Go check on Gavin! His wound is a bit itchy; put some ointment on it."

Andrew leaned over and kissed her.

He was still full of energy but restrained himself, only asking softly, "Have you been holding back for a long time?"

Chloe angrily kicked him.

Andrew then got up and dressed, carrying his wrinkled shirt. He said, "If you're uncomfortable, get up and soak a bit."

He went downstairs, first bringing her some food.

Then he went to take care of Gavin.

When he came back, Chloe had already taken a bath and was eating while reading the script.

Andrew sat next to her, ate some food, and asked, "Are you really planning to break into the entertainment industry?"

Chloe didn't look up. "Just finding something to do!"

Andrew patted her head. "Having something to do is good."

Chloe looked up at him, and after a long time, she asked, "Aren't you worried?"

The industry was always chaotic.

His attitude made her a bit incredulous.

Andrew smiled faintly. "There are only two things that lead to downfall! One is profit, the other is physical desire."

Chloe didn't need to sacrifice herself for profit. And if it was for enjoyment, he thought he could satisfy Chloe.

So, he was very at ease.

Chloe flipped through the script and said lightly, "Frederick is always so angry! He gets so worked up when Charlotte talks to other men, especially Oliver!"

Andrew's gaze deepened. "Do you want me to be like that?"

Now he was sure that he and Chloe were each other's only choice, so he could be generous and not care so much.

But now she was acting like she used to.

He liked it very much.

Andrew reached out and patted her head. "I'll support you in the future."

Chloe felt a bit sweet inside.

She said, "You better make more money; supporting a star is expensive! But you have experience in this!"

Andrew laughed.

It had been so many years, and she was still so jealous.

This matter was finally over.

Chloe had arranged to go shopping with Charlotte, who was almost seven months pregnant by then.

Frederick was very nervous about her.

She didn't go out unless necessary, and if she did, she had four bodyguards with her.

She and Chloe had a good relationship, and they chatted while picking out clothes. "Are you and Andrew getting married soon?"
