Chapter 80 I'll Drink for Her

Frederick finished talking, and the room went dead silent. He must know about Ethan and Tina's relationship. This was definitely a power move! No wonder he's a big shot in the legal world.

With everyone staring, Ethan stood up. Even if he wasn't the future son-in-law of the Hawkins family, one word from Frederick could bankrupt the Cooper Group. He had to show respect.

Ethan was ruthless but adaptable. He raised his wine glass, clinked it lightly with Tina's, and downed it in one gulp. Tina didn't even have time to react.

Ethan ignored her, standing tall beside Charlotte. He poured himself a drink, then one for Charlotte, and raised his glass. "Frederick has to drive, so I'll toast to my future sister-in-law."

Charlotte didn't expect Ethan to toast her. 'Is he crazy or sick?'

Lily couldn't stand it and shouted, "Ethan, if you want to drink, I'll drink with you."

Ethan pressed her shoulder, stopping her from getting up. "Miss White! I'm talking to Charlotte!"

The room was silent. Everyone knew Charlotte had chased Ethan for four years when they were younger. Ethan was clearly making things difficult for her, and no one dared to say a word.

Charlotte's body stiffened!

Frederick gently placed a hand on the back of Charlotte's chair, smiling elegantly and kindly. He asked her softly, "Can you drive?"

Charlotte nodded, and then he held her hand.

Frederick stood up again, smiled at Ethan, and said, "Charlotte isn't feeling well. I'll drink for her!"

As soon as he said it, people started whispering, "Tina toasted him, and he said he had to drive, but now he can drink? That was quick!"

Frederick did this without a hint of fear. He picked up Charlotte's wine glass and elegantly drank it while Ethan gripped his glass so tightly his knuckles turned white.

He gave a cold smile, wondering how far had they gone.

In a bad mood, Ethan downed his drink in one gulp. After drinking, his gaze swept over Charlotte with a hint of lingering affection. Charlotte didn't dare meet his gaze, afraid Frederick would ask her to pay back in some ways..

Frederick gave a faint smile. He was strikingly handsome, and when he smiled, dimples appeared, making him even more charming. The women present were mesmerized by Frederick, all wanting to chat with him, especially whose parents eager to seek husbands for them.

But Frederick didn't pay them any attention. He was only gentle with Charlotte, treating others like the distant moon in the sky, only to be admired from afar.

The atmosphere livened up again, and people continued to come over to toast, but no one dared to overstep and make Frederick drink. Unexpectedly, Frederick broke the rule and had a few more drinks.

Charlotte served him some food. "To soak up the alcohol."

Frederick looked at her deeply. Maybe it was the alcohol, but Charlotte felt his gaze was different, and her face flushed slightly. Under the table, Frederick squeezed her hand.

His voice was husky. "Shall we leave early?"

Charlotte saw the hidden desire in his eyes. She bit her lip lightly, surprised that he could flirt with her in public, but she couldn't refuse him. She neither agreed nor refused.

Frederick smiled, stood up, and said goodbye to a few professors from the music academy, uttering a polite lie that left them flattered. Charlotte watched him handle everything with ease. She thought, 'Whose reunion is this anyway?'

Just then, Tina approached, still wearing that tight dress that accentuated her figure. Her face was flushed, and her voice was dripping with seduction. "Mr. Hawkins, are you leaving?"

Charlotte was right next to Frederick and heard everything. She admired Tina. Not only could she let go of her pride, but she was also quite skilled at messing around with men. She couldn't help but look at Frederick to see if he would be attracted to Tina.
