Chapter 915 After Marriage, They Neglect Each Other

Just as Sienna was lost in thought, Bruce woke up.

Sienna was still holding his phone, and for a moment, the atmosphere was a bit awkward.

After a while, she handed the phone back to him.

Sienna didn't ask anything. Bruce glanced at the screen and said, "I was just reading the news and fell asleep. Is the food ready?"

Sienna nodded. "Yeah, it's ready. Go ahead and eat."

Bruce looked closely at her eyes, noticing the red veins. It was clear that she hadn't had an easy week either.

Even though it wasn't directly related to her, they were engaged, and it was impossible for Sienna to eat and sleep well under such circumstances.

Guilt surged in Bruce's heart. He knew he had wronged Sienna.

In the future, perhaps many years from now, people would remember this disgraceful chapter of his life, and Sienna and their children would be criticized because of it.

In truth, breaking up would be better for Sienna.

But Bruce couldn't bear to let her go, and he thought she felt the same.

He reached out to hold her hand, but Sienna pulled away. Her voice was soft. "I'm going to wash my hands."

Bruce didn't stop her.

While she was in the bathroom, he took a few bites of the noodles but had no appetite.

Finally, he pulled out a crumpled pack of cigarettes from his pocket. There were only two left.

Bruce put one between his lips and walked out to the balcony, smoking slowly.

In the bathroom, Sienna scrubbed her face hard.

When she looked up, the person in the mirror had slightly red skin and eyes filled with red veins.

After a long time, a pair of arms wrapped around her from behind.

It was Bruce.

He leaned against her back, whispering apologies. He turned her around and kissed her forehead.

Sienna looked up but said nothing.

All the words, all the emotions, had already been felt in their hearts.

But neither of them said they would let go.

Yet, neither could bring themselves to say anything sweet.

Sienna closed her eyes gently.

In fact, Frederick and Charlotte had opposed this marriage.

There had been issues before, and now with Freya's extreme actions, even though the Taylor family had come to apologize, it was hard to swallow the resentment.

But they didn't force anything, leaving the decision to Sienna.

Sienna didn't say she wanted to break up.

However, a grand wedding was out of the question. In the end, both families agreed to keep things low-key.

In June, they held a wedding on an island.

They still liked each other, but the feelings had faded, perhaps because of the emotional barrier between them.

Coincidentally, after the wedding, Sienna got an opportunity to star in a well-known international film that needed an Asian face.

In the past, she would have turned it down, but this time she accepted.

That night, her car returned to the villa.

Her assistant carried her things into the hall. Sienna looked at the housekeeper and asked softly, "Bruce isn't back yet?"

The housekeeper nodded. "Mr. Taylor called and said not to prepare his dinner. Mrs. Taylor, would you like to have dinner now?"

Sienna walked upstairs, her tone indifferent. "Just make something simple and bring it to the living room."

The housekeeper sighed.

Bruce and Sienna were newlyweds, but in the past month, they had rarely seen each other, almost as if they were avoiding each other.

If that was the case, why get married at all?

Sienna had something to discuss with Bruce, so she waited up late.

Around eleven, Bruce finally came back, looking exhausted.

He opened the door to a brightly lit living room, squinting against the light. His voice was gentle. "Why are you still up?"
