Chapter 669 Kingsley, I love you too!

Hearing that, Amara tensed up a bit, and Kingsley glanced down at her, his eyes full of curiosity.

Hazel was used to seeing Landon and Caitlyn being all lovey-dovey, so she quietly slipped out, leaving the big bathroom to the two of them.

The vibe was pretty subtle. When Amara was pregnant with Jesse, Kingsley wasn't around, so he was kinda clueless.

After a bit, he gently asked, "How are you feeling? Still feeling off?"

Amara clutched her chest and slowly shook her head, "I'm okay, just a little off! Kingsley, I might not even be pregnant."

Maybe it was all in her head, but she wanted to be close to him. She rarely took the initiative to lean into his arms, hugging his waist.

Kingsley's heart melted. He looked down and gently placed his hand on her lower abdomen. It was still flat, but maybe it was already nurturing his baby again. His gaze at Amara was truly intriguing, and his voice was husky and sexy, "You've been pretty enthusiastic in bed lately. Could it be because you're pregnant?"

Amara felt embarrassed, her face buried in his chest. Kingsley was filled with indescribable tenderness. This was his first time experiencing the entire process of fatherhood from conception onwards, so he was a bit impatient, coaxing her, "You should go to the hospital for a check-up!"

"The hospital's closed. How can I get checked?"

Kingsley looked at her, then took out his phone and called Rebecca, who had just taken a shower with her hair wet, when she got Kingsley's call.

"Help me get in touch with the best obstetrician in Seattle."

At night, Rebecca was left in the wind. Kingsley was being ridiculous again!

Even though it was summer, Kingsley still brought his own jacket when they went out, half-forcing Amara to wear it. Amara was quite unwilling, "It's not even cold, and I might not even be pregnant! You're making such a big fuss at night; if it turns out I'm not pregnant, it would be so embarrassing!"

Kingsley sat in the driver's seat, leaned over to fasten her seatbelt, and gently brushed her lower abdomen, "Even if you're not pregnant now, with my skills, I'll make sure you are soon."

Amara's face flushed slightly, and she said to cover it up, "You really want a baby that much?"

Kingsley held the steering wheel, his gaze deep. After a moment, he said, "I've seen Austin, I've seen Leopold when he was just born, but I've never seen Jesse as a baby. I want to see that."

He spoke earnestly, his expression tinged with regret.

Amara heard the sadness in his tone and softly said, "Didn't we agree? Let's not blame each other anymore, okay?"

She placed her hand on the back of his hand, her voice very soft. "Aren't we going to the hospital? Do I still need to coax you at this point?"

Kingsley's gaze deepened. He didn't say anything, just leaned over and kissed her lips gently, saying softly and tenderly, "Amara, I love you."

He was so eager for a baby.

Because he loved Amara, he just wanted to make up for the regrets of the past and take good care of her to make her live happily.

Amara was somewhat moved. Kingsley bit her lip playfully, "Come on, spill it."

Amara played dumb, "Spill what?"

"Say you love me!" Kingsley's voice was rough.

Amara wanted to tease him, but when she met his gaze, she couldn't look away. After what felt like forever, she finally said softly, "Kingsley, I love you too!"

His expression was intense, "Do I look good?"

Amara, "Aren't we going to the hospital?"

When they got to the hospital, Amara had her blood tested, and it turned out she was indeed pregnant.

Kingsley looked at the report over a dozen times before finally looking at Amara, "We're having a daughter."

The obstetrician smiled, "The baby is still small; we don't know the gender yet!"

Kingsley folded the report and said, "It's definitely a daughter!"

In the elevator, he was already thinking about names, while Amara gently stroked her lower abdomen, lost in thought. She used to be so desperate to prove herself, and to be worthy of Kingsley, but now her perspective had shifted. If two people were truly together, they would both make sacrifices.

Kingsley couldn't let go of the Hawkins Group. So she would have to temporarily put her work aside!

Even though Landon had offered her very generous terms, and her future at the Boston headquarters would be completely different, these things no longer held as much attraction for Amara. She thought about these things but didn't directly tell Kingsley.

After a while, the elevator door opened, and they were about to step out.

Standing at the elevator door was someone they had spoken to earlier tonight, Maurice. He was dressed in black, looking much thinner, likely due to the busy internal affairs of the Hughes Group.

The three of them exchanged glances. Maurice's lips moved, but it was Kingsley who spoke first, "Mr. Hughes, what a coincidence!"

He pretended, but Maurice didn't let him. He got straight to the point, "Before Zachary passed away, he left a will stating that the Hughes Group headquarters would be led by Amara. So, at this funeral, Amara's role is not just as Zachary's child but also as the future successor of the Hughes Group."

He looked at Amara and said softly, "I know you're very strong-willed. You worked with Landon to prove your strength, and now there's such a good opportunity in front of you. I think any smart person wouldn't refuse! As for Zachary, he wanted me to tell you that now that he's gone, those things should be left in the past. What you hold in your hands is the most real."

Maurice tilted his head slightly, clearly very sad. He suppressed his emotions and continued, "He said he doesn't expect you to call him Dad, just hopes you..."

Amara softly interrupted him, "Sorry, Mr. Hughes, I have no position or interest in inheriting the Hughes family's business. I think the one who should inherit it is Sarah, not me!"

Maurice wanted to say something,

Kingsley turned his head and gently said to Amara, "Go wait for me in the car."

Amara hesitated for a moment but still listened to him. After she left, Kingsley looked at Maurice and communicated with him about five minutes before getting in the car.

Amara glanced out the window and saw Maurice heading to another black car. It quickly drove off. She turned to Kingsley, "What did you say to him?"

Kingsley started the car and smiled faintly, "Nothing much!"

Amara didn't buy it.

Late at night, at the Hughes Mansion.

A black car screeched to a stop, and a slender figure stepped out. Maurice slowly walked towards the Home Memorial Space, going straight to the end and paying his respects to Zachary.

He said softly, "Zachary, Amara is pregnant! She'll soon give birth to the Hawkins family's second child, maybe another boy, or perhaps a girl. Either way, she'll have a good life. Kingsley loves her very much. I think we shouldn't force her to inherit the Hughes Group! You think she's strong-willed, but Kingsley says Amara doesn't have big ambitions. She loves cooking, raising dogs, and taking care of children. Zachary, I think Kingsley understands Amara better than we do! You feel guilty towards her, so let her live the life she wants!"

Sarah no longer had the capability, so the Hughes family would be managed by him in the future. He had avoided it for too long and now had to take on the responsibility of managing the Hughes Group.

Kingsley brought Amara home, and it was nearly midnight. After parking the car, he called his parents to share the news.

Frederick couldn't contain his excitement and wanted to come over to celebrate at night, but Charlotte stopped him, "Amara is pregnant, what are you celebrating for? Aren't you afraid of being laughed at?"

Frederick retorted that she was jealous. He said, "Without me, there wouldn't be Kingsley, and there wouldn't be the baby in Amara's womb!"

Charlotte gave him a look that was hard to describe. She gracefully went upstairs, and Frederick, who cared about Amara, immediately followed, shouting, "Did you just look at me like I was an idiot? Charlotte, be honest!"

Charlotte replied calmly, "You saw it clearly!"

Frederick: "Charlotte! We need to sort this out!"

Charlotte's lips curled slightly. She paused halfway up the stairs, waited for Frederick to catch up, and gently straightened his shirt, saying softly, "I'll pick out a gift for Amara, and we need to move up their wedding date! Amara can't get married with a big belly, or wait until after the baby is born."

Frederick's heart itched just hearing it. He cupped Charlotte's face, kissed her hard, and whispered, "You're always so thoughtful!"

Meanwhile, Kingsley and Amara returned home, and the house staff came to congratulate them.

Kingsley gave each of them $4,000. He took Amara upstairs, only to find that both kids were still awake, along with Snowflake. They were all in the master bedroom, sitting in a row and waiting for them.

As soon as the master bedroom door opened, Jesse rushed over, "Mom, I'm going to have a sister!"

Kingsley picked him up in advance. "Be careful of Mom's belly!"

In Kingsley's arms, Jesse's little face turned red as he stared at Amara's belly, cautiously asking, "When will my sister come out?"

Kingsley explained seriously, "In about eight and a half months."

Jesse's eyes lit up with excitement.

Kingsley patted Jesse's little head and said, "From now on, you have to sleep with me, so your mom and sister can rest well, okay?"

Jesse, eager for a sister, nodded obediently. He even offered to give Snowflake to his mom, eagerly saying, "When you can't sleep at night, touching Snowflake's row of little buttons will help you fall asleep quickly. Snowflake is very well-behaved."

Amara looked at Kingsley, "Little buttons?"

Kingsley's face turned slightly red, and he mumbled, "Just little clothes!"

Jesse shouted, "No, it's not! Snowflake has two rows of little buttons, six or eight of them."

Amara understood. She didn't know how to explain to Jesse that those weren't little buttons, but the dog's nipples.

Fortunately, Jesse soon forgot about it.

Later that night, Kingsley put Jesse to bed and then came to see Amara.

Amara had taken a shower, changed into loose pajamas, and was leaning against the headboard reading a pregnancy manual. Kingsley walked over, sat on the edge of the bed, and took the book from her hands, "When did you get this? I've never seen it before."

Amara replied softly, "I read it a long time ago and never threw it away."

Kingsley deliberately misinterpreted, "So Mrs. Hawkins has been planning to have my child all along."

These words made Amara blush. She retorted, "You're always the one who can't wait! How can you say it's me!"

Kingsley tossed the book aside, leaned his forehead against hers, and said softly, "Mrs. Hawkins is right! It's always me who can't wait. Who can resist when you look so playful? If I could, I wouldn't be a normal man."

Amara reached out and gently stroked his face. She teased him softly, "To marry Mr. Hawkins in style, I need to work hard, maybe even take on the job at the Boston headquarters early and save up for the wedding fund in two years!"

She didn't expect Kingsley to fall for it. He kissed her hard, "No problem! You can go ahead, and after the baby is born, I'll take care of them. You can earn money and pursue your dreams!"

He spoke half-jokingly, and Amara was a bit unsure. "Are you really that generous? I don't believe it!"

Kingsley chuckled, "What will it take for Mrs. Hawkins to believe? Do I need to personally send you to Boston?"

Amara looked at him for a while, then bit his chin lightly, saying word by word, "Mr. Hawkins, you're getting better at teasing me! But unfortunately, I won't fall for it now!"

They laughed and joked sweetly, neither taking it seriously. When it was time to sleep, Amara suddenly thought of Snowflake, but Snowflake had already run off.

She rested her head on Kingsley's chest and whispered, "I can't sleep. Do you think touching nipples, like Jesse said, really works?"

Kingsley laughed softly in her ear, his voice sexy, "I can guarantee, Mrs. Hawkins, that touching nipples will make you even more awake! Be good, you're pregnant now, you need to control your desires."

Amara thought he was really bad!
