Chapter 369 He Kissed 20-Year-Old Charlotte (Part 2)
At 8 PM, Frederick drove Charlotte back to her place.
The golden Continental rolled to a stop in front of the Russell family's building.
Frederick unbuckled her seatbelt and brushed her hair aside.
The vibe in the car was getting pretty intense.
Charlotte was feeling kinda nervous; it was her first time being this close to a guy, and his look had a kind of hunger she didn't really get.
Frederick's voice was warm and inviting, like a cozy fire on a cold night. "I wanna kiss you!"
Frederick, all fired up, just pulled her into his arms.
Charlotte was clueless, not sure what to do.
"Hold onto my neck," he said, his voice all husky, his nose almost touching hers.
At first, Charlotte didn't dare, but then she slowly wrapped her arms around his shoulders.
She kept her head down, not looking at him, her young and inexperienced body shaking.
It was just a kiss, but she was this scared.
Frederick wrapped one arm around her waist, lifted her chin, and kissed her.
Feeling it wasn't enough, he started to let his hands roam over her, caressing her gently.
Charlotte pushed back.
She leaned against his shoulder, her slender fingers pressing down on his hand firmly. "You're not allowed to touch!"
Even though she liked him, she was still thinking straight. They had just met and started dating; hugging and kissing was already a lot, let alone anything else.
Her delicate voice had a sobbing tone.
Frederick snapped back to reality a bit.
In his mind, Charlotte was his wife, and nothing he did would be too much. But for 20-year-old Charlotte, Frederick was just a stranger.
Frederick's heart softened.
He kissed her cheek gently and indulgently, "No crying. I won't touch you."
Charlotte wanted to get down.
He didn't let her.
Frederick held her with one arm and leaned over to grab a cigarette from the glove compartment.
Charlotte, quite spoiled, said, "I don't want to inhale secondhand smoke."
She was bold enough to take the cigarette from his lips, but then didn't know what to do with it.
Frederick leaned over and took the cigarette back with his mouth.
He kissed her again. "I'll only smoke half, then I'll let you go home."
Charlotte said nothing.
Frederick rolled down the window halfway.
He smoked slowly, one hand gently stroking Charlotte's head. He loved her, but it was different from loving the real Charlotte.
Frederick really only smoked half a cigarette before putting it out. He looked down and asked her, "Do you like me?"
Charlotte refused to answer.
Frederick didn't push it. He just held her close, kissed her again and again, and finally gave her a gentle pat on the butt, saying softly, "Go on home! Otherwise, Mr. Russell will worry."
Charlotte responded with a hum.
Frederick helped her straighten her dress and said hoarsely, "Don't hide our thing."
Charlotte didn't reply, just blushed.
She quickly got out of the car and dashed into the elevator.
Frederick sat in the car, quietly watching her lively figure, feeling a bit restless inside.
He had made Charlotte fallen for him, fast.
But his mission wasn't to fall in love; it was to take the blame for Charlotte and bring her home.
Yet, he still hadn't seen the opportunity!
As he was about to start the car and leave, he saw a couple arguing.
It was Ethan and Tina.
Tina was pulling on Ethan's clothes, crying her heart out. "Ethan, you saw it; she was with someone else. She got out of such a nice car! What are you still doing here? What are you hoping for?"
Ethan shook her off.
Tina fell to the ground, crying hysterically, "Ethan, I love you! Now that Charlotte is gone, won't you love me?"
Ethan ignored her.
He looked deeply in Frederick's direction, then disappeared into the night.
Tina kept crying.
Suddenly, Frederick had a lightbulb moment.
Ethan! Tina! Gabriel!
Why hadn't he thought of it before?
The key was Tina!
So in reality, could it have been Tina who secretly caused the chandelier to fall?
In the dim car, Frederick sat inside.
He coldly watched the crying woman on the ground, wishing he could run her over right now, but he couldn't. The astrologer said he had to suffer for Charlotte!
Frederick suddenly realized that he came into this dream to atone for his own sins.
The golden Continental slowly drove away.
The city's streetlights shone on Frederick's face. He held the steering wheel with one hand and made a call to Cherie, "Get two bodyguards to secretly watch over Charlotte."
Cherie got on it right away.
Frederick hung up the phone.
Frederick kept looking for clues while dating Charlotte.
He often took Charlotte on dates, spending most of their time in that apartment. He thought Charlotte would eventually get bored, but to his surprise, she loved it.
She liked playing the piano and cooking.
She also liked lying in his arms, listening to him talk about legal stuff.
These were things he and Charlotte had never done before.
He didn't know if this was God's way of giving them another shot at love.
Frederick cherished it carefully.
At 9 PM on a weekend, Charlotte felt it was time to go home.
But it was pouring rain outside.
Charlotte lay by the floor-to-ceiling window, whispering, "It's already fall; why is it still pouring rain."
As soon as she finished speaking, lightning streaked across the night sky.
She was so scared that she hid in Frederick's arms.
He had just taken a shower and smelled fresh, purely masculine.
Charlotte belatedly realized he was only wearing a bathrobe.
At this moment, her face was buried in his chest, pressed against his warm skin, feeling the beating of his heart. She couldn't help but feel a bit shy.
Frederick held her slender waist. "Maybe it's because God knows I don't want you to leave!"
Charlotte was only 20 years old; how could she dare to spend the night with a man?
She refused and insisted on waiting for the rain to stop.
Frederick simply held her, sitting on the balcony in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, looking at the night view. He whispered in her ear with a low laugh, "Don't you trust me?"
Charlotte blushed.
Frederick's heart softened. It wasn't that he didn't have thoughts, but he couldn't bear to act on them.
He held her, took out his phone, and dialed William's number. After a while, the call connected.
Frederick's blue eyes fixed on Charlotte as he spoke, "Mr. Russell, it's Frederick. The rain is quite heavy; Charlotte won't be coming back. Okay, I'll take good care of her."
After speaking, he hung up the phone.
Charlotte stared at him blankly.
Frederick cupped her face and kissed her.
Charlotte had never been like this with him.
She whimpered softly, "Frederick, you said you wouldn't touch me!"
Frederick laughed lightly in her ear, then coaxed her hoarsely, "I won't enter your body, okay?"
Charlotte couldn't resist him at all.
In front of the entire glass floor-to-ceiling window, Charlotte was undressed by him, enjoying it to the fullest.
In the end, she cried.
Frederick kissed and coaxed her until she was finally happy.
Late at night, Charlotte wore his black shirt and lay with him on the soft bed. Frederick felt a shallow comfort but couldn't help but be preoccupied.
Charlotte didn't know any of this.
Charlotte had been bullied and wanted an explanation.
Frederick's mood improved slightly. "Charlotte, how about we have three kids in the future?"
Charlotte's face turned red. "I don't want to have children with you!"
Frederick's long fingers teased her. "I've already come up with names for the kids."
Charlotte's interest was piqued.
Frederick gently held her hand, interlocking their fingers, his voice very tender in the night. "How about Lola, Kingsley, and Sienna Hawkins?"
Charlotte savored the names.
After a while, she wrapped her arms around his waist and whispered, "I don't want to have three."
Frederick chuckled softly.
A week later, Frederick still hadn't seen any action from Tina.
He couldn't help but feel anxious.
In the study, he sat smoking, one cigarette after another.
Just then, Frederick's phone rang; it was Bradley calling.
Bradley had a good relationship with him and often hung out together. Today, he called with the same intention, "Frederick, I've got a gathering tonight. You in?"
Frederick was about to refuse but then thought of something.
Bradley!
Yeah, Bradley ended up with Lily.
At this time, Robert was involved with Lily while also supporting Tina.
Someone who was supported won't go to extremes!
Frederick suddenly had an idea.
So Frederick readily agreed. He took a drag on his cigarette, his cheeks hollowing as he smiled. "Invite Robert too. I've seen him a few times at the music academy recently."
Mentioning Robert, Bradley wasn't happy.
But thinking that Lily would also be there, he agreed.
"Alright, I'll call him."
Frederick hung up the phone, sat quietly for a while, and then made another call. "Help me clone Robert's phone card. I need it!"
The next evening, a private room in the high-end club was luxuriously decorated, exuding an air of debauchery.
The light was dim. Frederick dressed in black, quite low-key, and sat in a corner.
Bradley sat next to him, teasing, "What's up? Are you really in love?" He was probing.
Frederick smiled modestly. "We've only just started dating."
Bradley gave him a hard slap. "Then why not bring her out?"
Frederick didn't want Charlotte to come to such a place, "She sleeps early; she's probably already in bed by now."
Just then, Robert arrived with Lily.
Robert was also part of the circle, and he kept a low profile.
But Frederick was quite courteous to him.
Robert was flattered, thinking it was because of Charlotte that Frederick treated him differently.
He was also quite puzzled.
Charlotte was indeed beautiful, but he didn't think she could hold onto someone like Frederick.
But according to Lily, Frederick was serious.
Robert, being a man, knew how men pampered women. Willingness to spend money was the real deal; a few shopping trips didn't count.
So he valued Lily more, wanting her to build a good relationship with Charlotte.
Everyone had their own thoughts.
Frederick smiled modestly, socializing with people.
The atmosphere in the private room was particularly good. The men drank quite a bit, but Frederick remained sober throughout.
At 10 PM, the private room door opened, and a waiter politely said, "Miss Anderson, here it is."
Then Tina walked in.
She was wearing a black strapless bodycon dress, looking very sexy.
Robert was stunned.
Why was Tina here?
The atmosphere became subtle. Tina initially wanted to sit down but immediately saw Lily.
She looked at Robert, who signaled her.
Tina immediately understood. "Sorry, I came to the wrong place!"
