Chapter 616 Kingsley Declares Ownership!
Kingsley hit the brakes.
The bathroom was all steamy, and their heavy breathing filled the air. They hadn't actually done the deed, but it sure felt like it.
Amara was wiped out from his teasing, and she knew she looked like a hot mess.
She leaned against the glass door, trying to catch her breath, and muttered, "Let go! Haven't you had enough?"
Kingsley put his hands above her.
He dipped his head, his lips brushing the soft skin behind her ear, his voice rough. "How could it ever be enough?"
Amara pushed him away. "Not my problem. Move! I want to sleep."
Kingsley let her go, but as she tried to open the door, he wrapped an arm around her waist. "Your clothes are soaked; let's shower together!"
Amara didn't even get a word in; he had already made up his mind.
If they weren't both single and had a kid together, he would be a total jerk!
The water kept flowing in the bathroom.
Warm water washed over them, making it hard to see each other clearly. Even though he wasn't doing anything more, Amara's desire was sparked. Finally, Kingsley carried her out and handed her a bathrobe.
As he dressed her, Amara's body trembled.
Kingsley tied the belt for her.
His blue eyes darkened, and he said in a low voice, "You've gotten much slimmer after having the baby."
In the past, they had only been intimate a few times.
But three years had gone by, and Amara was etched deeply in his memory. Over the years, he had a lot of opportunities with other women but just wasn't interested.
Even with Hannah, he had thought about marrying her but never had a sexual relationship.
Right now, Kingsley wanted to make love. But it wasn't the right time; Jesse was still around. Besides, Amara was resistant.
After he finished speaking, his long fingers gently touched Amara's waist, lingering for a moment before saying hoarsely, "Go check on Jesse. I'll take another shower."
She knew what he meant by "another shower," and her face turned red.
When she left the bathroom, she realized she hadn't agreed to let him stay, but Kingsley seemed to have already decided to sleep there.
Jesse, tired from playing, was sprawled on the bed, breathing softly.
Amara put away the toys, tucked him in, and gazed at his sleeping face for a long time.
Ten minutes later, Kingsley came out of the bathroom.
Amara whispered, "You should go back."
Kingsley had only a small towel around his waist, holding his wet pants. "My clothes are all wet. What do you want me to wear back?"
Amara said, "There's a dryer."
But Kingsley bent down and gently pressed his lips to hers. Amara didn't dare speak anymore. He chuckled softly. "I'm just sleeping here, and with Jesse around, what can I do?"
Amara, tired from a long day, didn't bother to argue anymore.
She turned her back to him.
Kingsley observed her for a few moments before lying down beside Jesse, whose small, warm body brought peace to his restless heart.
He gently traced Jesse's features, feeling the warmth of their shared bloodline.
Jesse snuggled into his arms.
Kingsley couldn't help but lightly touch Amara's shoulder. "Did it hurt when you gave birth to him?"
Amara wasn't asleep. With Kingsley in bed, how could she easily fall asleep?
But she didn't respond.
Then, Kingsley's hand slid to her waist, then gently touched her lower abdomen as if to confirm something. Amara finally snapped. "It hurt a lot!"
Kingsley pulled his hand back.
Amara thought he had finally settled down, but ten minutes later, he whispered, "Next time, I'll be with you."
Amara gritted her teeth. "There won't be a next time!"
Kingsley wasn't mad; he just gently touched her waist again and chuckled softly.
In the morning, Amara woke up.
As soon as she opened her eyes, she met Kingsley's blue eyes. She had no idea how long he had been watching her, and it made her feel uneasy.
"Awake?" Kingsley's morning voice was hoarse, with a lazy tone.
Amara remembered his clothes were still wet. So she lifted the blanket to get up. "I'll dry your clothes. Before Hailey wakes up, you should leave."
Kingsley stopped her. "Rebecca will bring clothes over soon."
Amara couldn't believe it. "Rebecca is coming here?"
Kingsley leaned back on the pillow, stretching his arms, with Jesse comfortably in his arms.
He played with the sleeping Jesse, looking as if it was only natural. "She's bringing me clothes; what's the problem?"
The point was Amara didn't want others to know about their situation.
She stayed quiet, and Kingsley said softly, "I can accept that you don't accept me for now, but I don't want Jesse to be known as a child without a father! I want everyone to know he's my son! Are you unwilling or afraid it will affect your chances of finding new love?"
Amara was so angry she didn't want to speak.
She got up to go to the bathroom, and Kingsley put Jesse down, casually wrapping the towel around himself and following her. He had something to say, but the door was closed.
Amara paused while brushing her teeth.
Kingsley leaned beside her, watching her in the mirror. When Amara lowered her head to wash her face, he spoke softly, "This place is a bit small. Let's move to that apartment this weekend. There's a small park nearby, and the schools around are quite good."
Amara looked up at him, then wiped her face with a towel.
Kingsley waited for her decision.
After a moment, Amara said softly, "This place is fine; I don't want to move! Kingsley, if your parents want to see Jesse, I can take him over for a few days, as long as Jesse doesn't mind."
Kingsley's eyes were intense. "We're both single now, and we have a child. Amara, haven't you considered me?"
Amara turned to him. "I'm not considering that for now. Kingsley, there's too much difference between us!"
Kingsley leaned back against the wall.
He looked back at the mirror, silently watching her for a long time before saying something both cruel and clear, "Amara, haven't you thought that if we don't get married, Jesse won't be the rightful heir of the Hawkins Family? I will get married someday."
Amara raised her head slightly, suppressing her emotions, and met his gaze in the mirror. "I just want Jesse to be happy. Whether he's the heir of the Hawkins Family or not, I don't care."
But Kingsley did. He loved Amara, he liked Jesse, and he wanted everything from the Hawkins Family to belong to Jesse.
Amara wanted to leave.
Kingsley stopped her, finally lowering his stance. "If you don't want to move, we won't move for now."
Amara pushed him but couldn't budge him. Kingsley wanted to kiss her.
Just then, Hailey's voice came from the door. "Kingsley, Rebecca brought your clothes. She left them at the door and has gone!"
Kingsley responded.
He looked down at Amara. "We'll talk about it later. I have an important meeting this morning, so I gotta go now!"
With that, he went out to get his clothes.
After getting dressed, Kingsley kissed Jesse on the forehead. As he was leaving, Hailey kept urging him to have breakfast. Kingsley glanced at his watch, grabbed a sandwich, and ate it in the car.
While munching in the car, he reviewed financial reports.
Rebecca, sitting in the front, smelled the food and felt her own breakfast digesting. She couldn't help but ask, "Mr. Hawkins, is it good?"
Kingsley nodded.
Rebecca then remembered that Hailey used to run a breakfast shop.
At that moment, Kingsley suddenly remembered something and said, "Help me investigate Billy."
Rebecca was puzzled and thought, 'Why investigate him?'
As a confidential secretary, Rebecca didn't ask questions. By the end of the day, she had placed the information on Kingsley's desk. He picked it up and started reading.
Meanwhile, Amara came out of her room to find that Kingsley had already left.
Hailey brought her breakfast.
Amara ate slowly, and Hailey sat beside her, speaking softly, "I think Kingsley's parents are reasonable people, especially Mrs. Hawkins. You said you two haven't reconciled yet, but they are willing to let you raise Jesse without any disputes. That's rare."
Amara didn't respond.
Hailey continued to advise, "When it comes to marriage, if it's not for love, then financial stability or good in-laws should be considered. Kingsley is already very close to perfect! I'm not saying you should settle, but you should be more understanding. Couples often argue, especially when you were both young and impulsive!"
Amara took Hailey's words to heart, and she nodded. "I'll think about it."
Hailey felt relieved; she wanted the best for Amara.
When Amara drove to work, she noticed everyone's strange looks as soon as she entered the lobby. Finally, Mia cautiously placed a newspaper on her desk. "Amara, you should see this."
Amara looked and saw a large photo of herself and Jesse that took up half the page. The headline was sensational. #The president of the Hawkins Group is rumored to have already been married with children!#
Mia, seeing Amara's expression, whispered, "Now all of Syeattel knows about your relationship with the Hawkins Group's president. Amara, maybe you should get married?"
Amara smiled faintly. "Marriage is not something to be taken lightly."
Mia awkwardly scratched her head and left.
Amara quietly looked at the newspaper. She knew all the newspapers had published the news. This must have been Kingsley's doing. He didn't want Jesse to be seen as an illegitimate child.
Now Kingsley had announced it to the world!
Amara was a bit angry but didn't want to contact him about it, as it would show she cared too much. So Amara wiped her face and started working.
At noon, Amara received a call from Billy. She went out and withdrew sixty thousand dollars from the bank for him, repeatedly instructing him. Billy nodded vigorously. "Don't worry! This time it will definitely work. In half a month, the money will double, and I'll pay you back. Then we can fix the loopholes and bring Naomi over. Life will be good!"
Amara looked at him. "I'll trust you one more time!"
Billy took the money and left. That evening, Amara told Hailey about it. Hailey was genuinely happy but outwardly scolded Amara, "You're helping him again! You've been secretly helping him for the past two or three years! But he just doesn't live up to expectations!"
Amara understood her thoughts.
She gently comforted, "Billy isn't a bad person, just unlucky."
Hailey felt a bit better. She wanted to ask about Kingsley but decided against it.
That night, Kingsley didn't come.
When Amara went to bed, she received a message from him, saying he was on a business trip to Silver Lake City and would be back the next day.
Jesse snuggled up to her, softly calling for his dad.
Amara felt a wave of tenderness. Jesse had only seen Kingsley a few times, but he must really like him! She turned to hug Jesse, soothing him. "Your dad will be back tomorrow!"
Jesse obediently nestled in her arms.
Amara taught him to read with a picture book. She found Jesse much smarter than she was at his age. Maybe he inherited the Hawkins Family's remarkable genes?
Jesse fell asleep, and near midnight, she was still pondering this.
Just then, she heard a faint noise outside.
Amara put on a robe and went to check. At the door, she saw Kingsley entering with a key. It was very cold, and his hair was covered with a thin layer of frost.
Amara paused. "Weren't you coming back tomorrow?"
Kingsley stared at her for about half a minute, then suddenly chuckled lightly. He unbuttoned his coat, and with a few steps, he pulled her into his arms, wrapping her in his coat.
Amara struggled a bit, but it was useless!
He lowered his head and kissed her lips. "I missed you and Jesse, so I drove five hours to get back."
Amara hit him lightly. "There's a snowstorm tonight."
She glanced outside; it was already snowing heavily under the bright streetlights.
Then she looked at Kingsley! He held her and said, "The car broke down halfway, and I walked for an hour before I could get a ride!"
Amara thought he was crazy!
But Kingsley held her, looked around, and then asked impatiently, "Where's a convenient place to make love?"
Amara kicked him!
He had come all this way just for that, and with their relationship still unclear, how could she agree?
But Kingsley couldn't hold back his desire. He half-carried her into the master bedroom, locking them in the bathroom. The water flowed down, soaking his expensive coat, but he didn't care. At that moment, he just wanted to hold her!
In an 850-square-foot space, with four people living there, it was inconvenient. Moreover, Amara was somewhat reluctant, which made the lovemaking particularly difficult. Afterward, both Kingsley and Amara were unsatisfied.
Kingsley didn't continue because he didn't want to make too much noise.
Amara rested her face on his shoulder.
For a long time, neither of them spoke.
"What are you thinking?" Kingsley kissed her ear, unable to let go.
Amara felt a bit regretful. But she couldn't say it out loud, as it would lead to an argument. So she gently shook her head.
Seeing her so obedient, Kingsley couldn't help but kiss her again. In the end, he couldn't resist making love to her once more. This time, Amara seemed more receptive, wrapping her arms around his neck and moving in sync with him.
Kingsley felt very satisfied!
In a fit of passion, he took out a velvet box from his coat on the floor and revealed a diamond ring.
He kissed the corner of her mouth and said hoarsely, "Let me put this on you!"
