Chapter 506 Lola, Do You Still Have Feelings for Me?

In the roomy apartment, it was warm, but the tension between the two people who used to be so close was palpable.

When they were kids, they used to share the same bed.

Back then, she'd call him Johnny and tell him not to be scared.

But now, there was nothing left between them. Maybe all the calm before was just leading up to this blow-up.

Eight years, and Lola hadn't forgotten.

Johnny couldn't forget either. If he could, he wouldn't be feeling this miserable now.

They each had their own fun, but they shouldn't have been each other's partners. Maybe such pure feelings weren't meant to be messed with. Anyone else would've been fine, just not Johnny and Lola.

"Leave!" Lola calmed down, got up, and walked to the window, leaning against it casually. She said softly, "This is pointless."

Johnny still sat there, looking up at Lola.

After a long time, he asked in a low voice, "Do you still have feelings for me?"

He didn't even dare to ask what kind of feelings, because he feared Lola would immediately deny and reject him.

Lola rested her head against the glass.

She chuckled lightly, "Johnny, what answer do you want to hear?"

Johnny was stunned.

Lola was harder to deal with than any girl he had ever met. She was unpredictable and proud. His looks, wealth, and efforts to please her were all insignificant in her eyes. But he had to admit, this made Lola fatally attractive.

He could understand why Darren wouldn't give up on Lola. She had that charm!

Johnny was a proud man, but Lola was even prouder.

Every time she looked at him, it made him want to press her against the glass and tease her.

After a long time, Lola said again, "Leave! Don't come back!"

Johnny felt extremely humiliated.

He didn't leave immediately but cleaned up the living room.

After finishing, he grabbed his coat and said, "Alright."

Lola maintained her original posture, head against the glass. She was tall but looked thin from this angle, her delicate face adding a sense of fragility.

In the end, Johnny couldn't resist his desire and walked over to hug her from behind.

It was a tenderness he had never shown before.

It was an emotion that transcended physical need, mixed with familial love and affection. His face pressed against Lola's, burning hot. Johnny's voice was hoarse and indistinguishable, "Lola, I'm sorry."

Lola didn't say anything.

He gently tightened his arms, encircling her in his embrace.

As night fell, he embraced her just like that, feeling each other's warmth.

Johnny's pain came from choosing to give up Lola when he was 20, but over the years, he realized that what he wanted most was still Lola. But he didn't know how to win her back or if there was any hope left. All he knew was that at this moment, he wanted to hold her, as if they had never been apart, as if Lola was still willing to share everything with him. She always loved changing Kingsley's diapers, bringing Kingsley to him, and dragging him to watch Sienna. These were clearly such beautiful moments.

Lola was his everything when he was young. The life in the villa made up for all his pain, and those days made the confident Johnny of today. But he had easily lost it all.

Johnny cried, and his hot tears seemed to sear both their hearts. Lola pushed him away.

She wrapped her robe around herself and said softly, "If you don't come back, Dad, Mom, Kingsley, and Sienna can accept it because they see you as a son and brother. But I'm different, Johnny. How many more eight years can I wait?"

"Let's be family." Lola thought, 'It's time to let go. Saying too much would be pretentious!'

She was calm, but Johnny was in so much pain he almost blacked out.

He left, closing the door behind him, leaning against it, head tilted back, eyes shut.

After a while, he went downstairs and got into his car.

The driver had long gone, and Johnny just sat there without turning on the air conditioning.

He rested his elbow on the car window, a cigarette between his long fingers.

Besides smoking, he didn't know what else to do.

About two hours later, a sports car pulled up, and the person who got out made Johnny's eyes turn red. It was Darren.

What was he doing here?

Johnny looked at the young man wearing a baseball cap, feeling a surge of anger. Just thinking about the possibility of him and Lola being intimate made him furious!

Johnny opened the car door and got out.

Darren saw him too, slightly raising his chin, the two men staring at each other silently.

Johnny's voice was cold, "What are you doing here?"

Darren, who always appeared weak in front of Lola, showed no fear facing Johnny. He sneered, "What about you?"

Johnny stubbed out his cigarette, "Lola is asleep!"

"Is that so?" Darren sneered, "Perfect timing! She gets cold easily; I can warm her bed!"

With that, Darren headed upstairs.

As he passed the elevator, he skillfully entered the code.

Johnny's eyes turned red.

Just as Darren was about to enter, Johnny rushed over and punched him.

Darren staggered back a few steps, leaning against the wall.

He wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and sneered, "Weren't you the one who didn't want her? Now you can't stand seeing me by her side?"

Johnny panted, "Even so, she's not yours!"

"Is that so?" Darren's pretty face showed a hint of mockery, but he said nothing, unexpectedly punching Johnny back.

Johnny, provoked by his words, was caught off guard. He took a punch.

Then the two men started fighting.

Half an hour later, the police arrived and took them away.

Darren immediately put on his hat, covering his face tightly. Johnny mocked him, "What? To ashamed to show your face?"

Darren sneered, "You're the one who should felt ashamed! Always showing up in front of Lola. Has she ever paid any attention to you?"

Johnny's face turned ugly.

Darren continued to provoke him, "I bring her medicine. She always has headaches after drinking. She lets me stay overnight, while you don't even have the right to be in her house."

Darren added bitterly, "She'll never get married. Give up!"

Johnny, uncharacteristically, didn't curse him.

He sat in the car, battered and bruised.

He recalled Darren's words: "Lola will never get married!"

Johnny covered his face with his hands, and Darren spoke again, "Do you think my relationship with her is just about physical pleasure? Johnny, I've known her for four years! When I was 20, my dad owed gambling debts and jumped off a building with my mom. Lola paid off all the debts for me and used her connections to get me into the entertainment industry."

Johnny listened in a daze.

Why was Darren's experience so similar to his?

So, Lola had taken Darren in, and Darren had become another Johnny. Over the years, Darren had replaced Johnny's position.

Johnny tilted his head back slightly, tears welling up in his eyes.

Darren spoke softly, "I can give up everything for her!"

Johnny looked at Darren, at that young, fair face, and suddenly realized that Darren looked a lot like his 20-year-old self, the self he had almost forgotten. His heart ached.

At the police station, the officers took their statements, asking why they were causing trouble.

Johnny still cared about his reputation. But Darren directly said, "For a woman!"
