Chapter 643 Amara, This Is My Biggest Concession!

At that moment, Kingsley's phone buzzed. It was Rebecca, calling about some urgent company stuff.

After hanging up, Kingsley turned to Amara. "I gotta head to the office. Taking Jesse with me might be more practical than leaving him here."

Jesse, with his mouth full of food, mumbled, "I wanna stay with Mom."

Kingsley chuckled, ruffled Jesse's hair, and glanced at Amara. "He's more attached to you."

Jesse handed his little water gun to Kingsley, and Amara gave Jesse a gentle pat.

Before leaving, Kingsley called Amara over to the door. With Jesse out of earshot, he could get a bit more personal. He looked at her and said softly, "I'll come find you when I'm done."

Amara didn't say no.

Kingsley thought she was being compliant. He brushed a strand of hair behind her ear. Seeing she didn't pull away, he leaned in, kissed her cheek, and whispered, "Take care."

The door closed quietly.

Amara turned to see Jesse, who had finished his breakfast and was now folding a little paper airplane with a napkin.

After dealing with the urgent matter, Kingsley thought about calling Amara to see if she was ready so they could head out together.

Just as he pulled out his phone, Frederick called. "Kingsley, what's going on? Why did Amara suddenly send Jesse over? Does she not want you and Jesse anymore? Jesse's crying for Amara now. Bring her back. Stop being so stubborn; it's pointless!"

Frederick hung up before Kingsley could respond.

Kingsley stared at his phone, deep in thought.

She was scared the Hughes Family would take Jesse away, but she didn't want to be with him!

Kingsley was in a foul mood. He thought for a moment and texted Frederick: [Keep Jesse company. I'll pick him up in two hours.]

Kingsley pocketed his phone, grabbed his car keys, and headed out.

Rebecca approached him, saying, "Mr. Hawkins, the cake has been chosen. When would you like it delivered?"

She handed him a tablet with the design, which looked beautiful and romantic.

He had planned a special celebration to surprise Amara, but now the gesture seemed hollow, devoid of meaning. His tone was icy. "Cancel it."

Rebecca was taken aback, but Kingsley had already left.

Kingsley drove to Amara's apartment. As he expected, she was home, her eyes red, with Hailey softly comforting her.

Kingsley suddenly walked in.

Amara looked up, startled and surprised. "How do you have a key?"

Kingsley stared at her and said slowly, "Jesse said Hailey likes to keep the key under the milk carton."

He stepped forward, grabbed Amara's arm, and said softly to Hailey, "I need to talk to Amara alone."

Hailey quickly tried to leave.

"No need!" Kingsley was already holding Amara's arm, dragging her into the bedroom with a bit of force.

Hailey sensed the tension, hesitated, and finally left.

The bedroom door slammed shut. Kingsley was furious. He threw Amara onto the soft bed, his movements rough and unyielding, quickly pinning her wrists above her head with one strong hand. Her coat was already off, revealing a thin silk blouse that clung to her shapely body, looking incredibly enticing.

"Kingsley, what are you doing?"

He pinned her down, gripping her chin and forcing her into a compromising position, whispering coldly in her ear, "What do you think I'm doing?"

He was really being a jerk. Amara had to bite her lip to keep herself from feeling aroused. She struggled for a moment, her back already damp with sweat.

She turned her face away in embarrassment, breathing lightly. "What kind of man are you? Is this how you treat women? Pinning me down on the bed, doing whatever you want. Have you thought about Hailey outside? How am I supposed to face her after this?"

"Hailey already left," Kingsley said, unmoved.

Amara, wearing stockings, tried to kick him, but he caught her leg. Kingsley's gaze deepened. He lowered his face to her ear and whispered, "I'm very angry! Amara, am I that unreasonable? You're afraid to live with me, so you sent Jesse to the Hawkins Mansion? You don't want him? What do you think Jesse will feel?"

She lay there quietly, feeling utterly exhausted. Her face showed no expression, only the glimmer in her eyes revealing her helplessness and bitterness. She couldn't just move in with Kingsley, especially since she hadn't even figured out their relationship. Sending Jesse to the Hawkins Mansion was the best solution she could think of.

Kingsley looked down at her.

After a long standoff, tears finally slid down her cheeks. Kingsley didn't soften, his words even harsher. "Why didn't you think about Jesse being scared and crying when you sent him away?"

Amara's lips trembled. "He still has you."

Probably too angry, he bit her neck hard.

Amara whimpered. "Kingsley, it hurts."

At times like this, it either evoked a man's pity or his desire. For Kingsley, it was unmistakably the latter. The simmering emotions within him were almost palpable, but he managed to cling to a shred of self-control. Now wasn't the time to act on those base instincts.

He sat down, ignoring Amara. He took out a pack of cigarettes from his pocket. Because of their earlier struggle, the pack was crumpled. He didn't care, shaking out a cigarette and lighting it. He rarely smoked indoors, but he was really angry now.

After smoking half a cigarette, Kingsley turned around.

Amara was still lying there, looking a bit lost.

Kingsley sneered. "Waiting for me to have sex with you? I don't have the energy or the mood right now."

He stubbed out the cigarette and looked at her seriously. "Move to the villa. There are more rooms there. If you don't want to be my wife, we can sleep separately. But if you ever feel the need, you can come to me for sex."

His words were harsh, deliberately provoking her.

Amara looked up at him.

Kingsley, angry, leaned down and bit her lip until it bled, then pressed his lips to hers and said, "I really want to kill you."

His deep gaze made Amara shiver.

Kingsley stood up, his tone no longer as intense, but rather cold, "Get up. I'll take you to pick up Jesse! Amara, this is my biggest concession."

Amara choked up slightly. "Thank you."

Kingsley paused, then said lightly, "No need. Jesse is my son too."

He waited for her in the living room, smoking and checking his phone.

Amara washed her face and hastily packed her belongings, the modest collection of clothes making the task a swift one. When she came out with her suitcase, Hailey had already returned and was talking to Kingsley.

Hailey refused to go to the villa. She loved Jesse and cared about Amara, but they had a new life, and she had her own family. How could she just move in with them?

Amara handed her the keys to the place, suggesting that Billy and his wife move in.

Hailey felt embarrassed to accept, but Amara was pretty insistent.

Downstairs, Hailey gave countless reminders, still worried.

Amara nodded, her eyes slightly red as she got into the car. After Kingsley got in, he glanced at her and casually said while fastening his seatbelt, "You cry so easily, that's not like Ms. Butler at all!"

They were mad at each other and drove in silence to the Hawkins Mansion, where Frederick had been waiting for a long time.

Jesse had already been comforted.

Frederick had sent a driver to Lola's to borrow Bobby. Jesse stopped crying as soon as he saw Bobby and was happily playing with it in the yard, basking in the sun.

Seeing his parents get out of the car, Jesse ran over, calling out joyfully, with Bobby following closely behind, seemingly fond of his scent.

Kingsley bent down to pick up Jesse and respectfully said to Frederick, "Dad, we are here to pick up Jesse."

"Alright!" This time, Frederick scolded both of them.

Frederick, hands on his hips, pointed at their noses and scolded, "Is this how you two parent? Raising a child isn't about passing him around; take Jesse back and raise him well. I'll be checking in, so don't try to fool me."

Amara didn't dare to make a sound.

Kingsley, however, casually patted Jesse. "Dad, you only took care of Jesse for a little while, but you sure had a lot to say!"

"You have complaints?"

"How could I, Dad!"

Kingsley kissed Jesse and handed him to Amara, then said to Frederick, "I have something to discuss with you."

Charlotte came out from the hall and invited Amara for afternoon tea.

Amara looked at Kingsley.

Kingsley patted her shoulder. "My mom will give you some projects, enough for you to make a lot of money!"

Charlotte noticed Amara's lips were injured, the wound quite noticeable, and silently blamed Kingsley for being rough.

But Charlotte couldn't say anything openly.

Charlotte gently said, "Put Jesse down; let him play with Bobby."

Jesse was also happy. "I want a dog too! One with patterns like this."

Kingsley tapped his little head. "It's called a Dalmatian."

Jesse pouted.

On the second floor, in the study, Kingsley recounted what happened last night.

Frederick frowned slightly. "Did Zachary really do that?"

Kingsley took a hospital report from his pocket and handed it to Frederick. After reading it, Frederick fell into deep thought.

After a long while, he murmured, "When the Hughes Group was in decline, Zachary chose to sacrifice Sarah. He should have expected this day. The money he made back then was cursed."

Sarah's marriage partner had a family history of mental illness. As a result, both of Sarah's children were affected.

Frederick was silent for a moment, then said, "No wonder Amara heartlessly sent Jesse to us. She probably had no other choice. If Landon were in Syeatte, he could have them, but he's not."

Kingsley frowned.

Frederick sneered. "You're still not convinced?"

He continued, "Why won't she agree to marry you? It must be because you're not doing something right! You've cut off her financial support and ruined her reputation. I don't even want to mention the bad things you've done."

Kingsley remained silent.

Frederick shredded the report. Amid the noise, his voice was low. "You just take care of Amara and Jesse. As for the Hughes Family, I'll handle them for you."

Kingsley nodded.

After discussing the matter, Frederick couldn't help but worry. "I've told you before to drop your arrogant attitude. You can't even win over Amara, and I feel ashamed for you."

Kingsley felt embarrassed. He chuckled. "I'll start by living with Amara."

He went downstairs to find Amara. She was in the small garden having tea with Charlotte. Nearby, there was a playground where Jesse was playing happily.

Kingsley went over and picked up Jesse, saying to Charlotte, "Mom, I'll take Amara and Jesse back now."

Charlotte was reluctant. "Can't you stay for dinner?"

Kingsley shook his head. "We need to pack and add some things. I'll bring them back for dinner on Saturday."

Charlotte had no choice but to let them go.

In the car, Amara remained silent. Kingsley, driving, looked in the rearview mirror. "You don't want to leave? Hoping my mom will save you?"

Amara, of course, didn't admit it.

Kingsley changed the subject. "I've sent reliable family staff to the villa."

Amara was very grateful for their thoughtfulness and whispered her thanks.

Kingsley snorted lightly.

And so, they started living together.

The villa had three floors. On the second floor, there were two large bedrooms. Amara and Jesse shared one, while Kingsley had his own. However, Jesse would often go to Kingsley's room to sleep.

At the villa, Amara started unpacking.

Jesse was growing fast, and he didn't have many clothes for each season, just enough to rotate.

Amara quickly finished organizing. When she opened a set of closet doors to put away her clothes, she was stunned.

Inside was a row of Kingsley's clothes, indicating this was originally his bedroom.

Amara silently closed the closet door and opened another empty one, placing her clothes inside one by one. In fact, there were already quite a few of her clothes here, all prepared by Kingsley.

Downstairs, Jesse's cheerful voice could be heard.

Amara felt a sense of relief, but then Kingsley hugged her from behind, and she could smell his woody scent.

His lips brushed her neck as he asked softly, "If you won't marry me, can we still have sex?"

Amara thought she misheard.

But Kingsley repeated it.

Finally, he whispered, "If you're willing to have sex with me, I'll buy condoms. Amara, I don't believe you don't have any sexual desires."

"I don't!" Amara's face turned red, her heart racing.

Kingsley was just teasing her. When she refused, he quickly let go. Amara's legs went weak; in fact, her desire had already been aroused.

Despite still being angry, Kingsley couldn't deny his desire to make love to her. He closed the door behind him and gently caressed her waist.
