Chapter 944 I Want to Please You, Make You Happy 5
The figure in the rearview mirror gradually grew smaller and disappeared.
When Sienna snapped back to reality, her eyes were already wet with tears.
Anouk gently comforted her, "It's just a three-month shoot, and there are breaks in between! You'll see each other. Mr. Taylor even said he'd visit the set!"
Anouk patted Sienna's thigh. "Not many couples stay this in love after years of marriage!"
Anouk was a newly signed agent and didn't know the backstory. She just assumed the couple was still in the honeymoon phase.
Sienna didn't explain. She didn't want to bring personal matters into work.
She smiled faintly and closed her eyes to rest. "It's not as lovey-dovey as you think."
Anouk, being sharp, immediately understood.
She glanced at Sienna with a knowing look. So Bruce was trying to win his wife back.
The convoy drove for about five hours before reaching Copenhegan.
During the bumpy ride, Sienna heard her phone ping with a Facebook message, but she didn't check it until they arrived.
It was from Bruce, just a simple, everyday message.
Sienna stared at it for a while but didn't reply.
In Copenhegan, they would be staying for about a month.
The conditions weren't as comfortable as home, but Sienna was used to it. Work wasn't about luxury; she just missed her child.
Every couple of nights, she would video call Bruce to see Will.
Bruce always made sure Will was on the call. He would stand silently by, not asking to chat with her.
Occasionally, they exchanged a few words, but nothing romantic. Mostly, it was about Will.
Bruce never asked about her break schedule. Over time, Sienna thought his promise to visit might have been just a casual remark.
He was busy with work; how could he find time to come to Copenhegan?
When she had a break, she tried to adjust her schedule to visit Syeattel and see Will.
The movie shoot was going smoothly until a small issue arose.
The male lead was a popular star, rumored to have connections.
Sienna didn't know his background, but Anouk quietly told her, "What connections? He's just good-looking and decent at acting. A CEO from a big company likes him. You get it, right, Sienna?"
Such things were common in the industry.
Sienna nodded in understanding. It didn't affect the shoot, so she didn't care about his background.
The actor, Eldon Soto, was initially polite, though a bit cold. But over time, he started directing Sienna's acting. If she didn't follow his instructions, he got upset.
Sienna was usually easygoing, but she had her own background and wouldn't be bullied.
The director came over late at night to mediate.
Anouk, who had managed several Best Actresses before, opened the door.
With Sienna's background, she stood tall. Sienna was Charlotte's youngest daughter.
Charlotte was the matriarch of the Hawkins family, a significant figure in the entertainment industry.
She had invested in countless blockbusters over the years. Though low-key, Sienna's lack of ambition meant many didn't know this.
As soon as the director entered, Anouk didn't waste any time.
"Director, I don't care who Eldon is connected to, but he can't push my client around! Sure, Sienna's new to movies, but she was handpicked by an international director once. She left that project because of bad luck, not because she lacked talent. How can a newbie like him dictate her acting? Is his award due to talent or something else? You tell me."
The director looked troubled.
Anouk pressed on, "You know Sienna's background. She shouldn't have to cater to Eldon. Is he dreaming?"
She was fierce, and the director was sweating. "Let's keep it civil, please."
Anouk sneered, "Civility depends on the person!"
The director, feeling cornered, confessed, "Eldon is backed by our biggest investor. If he complains, I might not get the final payment, and the movie won't be completed. The whole crew's effort is at stake."
Anouk was about to explode.
Sienna, leaning against the bar with a glass of red wine, spoke softly, "As long as he doesn't go too far, I won't make a fuss. Don't worry, director."
The director was relieved and praised her profusely.
Anouk rolled her eyes and shooed him out. After closing the door, she adjusted her clothes. "What a joke! A kept man calling the shots!"
Sienna said nothing.
She thought the issue was resolved after the director talked to Eldon.
But Eldon pulled another stunt.
When Sienna signed the contract, it was clear that all intimate scenes would use a double or be shot from angles to avoid contact.
Today, there was a kissing scene, and Sienna requested the angle shot.
Eldon wasn't happy, insisting on a real kiss for professionalism.
He even threatened, "If we use a double or angles, this scene can't be shot. Director, choose between her and me!"
The director was in a bind.
He couldn't ask Sienna to do the kiss, especially with tongue. The Hawkins family wouldn't stand for it, and Bruce would have his head.
The director hesitated.
Eldon, dissatisfied, forcefully kissed Sienna during the shoot. Sienna pushed him away and slapped him.
Sienna rarely had conflicts with colleagues, but she wouldn't tolerate this. "Eldon, don't push it!"
Eldon, arrogant with his award and the CEO's favor, retorted, "Fine! One of us has to go!"
The production stalled due to the lead actors' conflict.
Sienna wasn't afraid. She headed to the dressing room. "Fine! One of us has to go!"
Anouk followed, exclaiming, "About time! Everyone has connections!"
As they talked, Sienna's phone rang. It was Bruce.
Sienna answered.
Bruce's voice was gentle. "Anouk said you have a break the day after tomorrow. Will and I are coming to see you."
Sienna glanced at Anouk, then replied softly, "I'm off tomorrow. I'll come back to Syeattel."
There was a brief silence.
Bruce's voice grew even softer. "Sienna, the private jet has landed. Will and I are already in Copenhegan."
Sienna was stunned.
Bruce continued, "Are you listening? Will and I miss you, so we came."
