Chapter 252 My Passion was Easy to Arouse

When the ex-fiancés bumped into each other, they were totally tongue-tied.

Ethan couldn't even muster the guts to ask about Andrew.

He'd had a ton of flings, but deep down, he knew missing out on Charlotte and Chloe was his biggest screw-up.

Seeing her now felt like a whole lifetime had zipped by.

But Chloe had moved on.

She clutched her chest and nodded at Charlotte. "I'm gonna change."

Charlotte smiled and nodded back.

She saw the regret plastered all over Ethan's face but kept her mouth shut. She thought some folks only realized what they'd lost when it was too late.

Ethan bolted with his date, not even bothering to try on the dress.

As he was leaving, he bumped into Frederick.

Frederick parked the car and squinted at Ethan as they passed each other.

When he walked into the studio, Charlotte was still chilling, sipping coffee, and flipping through a magazine.

Frederick plopped down next to her. "You’re pretty chill meeting an old flame."

Charlotte kept flipping through the magazine, casually saying, "You’re an old flame too. Oh, I forgot we were married, so you’re an ex-hubby."

Frederick laughed, a bit annoyed. He lowered his voice. "After last night, you’re still being stubborn, huh?"

Charlotte thought about her embarrassing state last night and blushed, calling him, "You rascal."

Frederick chuckled softly.

He unbuttoned his suit, took the magazine from her, and flipped through it. "This one looks pretty good."

Charlotte didn’t keep arguing.

She leaned in closer.

Frederick wrapped his arm around her shoulder, tilted his head slightly to look at her profile, and couldn’t help but whisper, "After the banquet, let’s go home, and you can wear this dress while we make love."

Charlotte blushed; she knew he had those thoughts.

But she also really liked this dress.

Frederick had good taste, no doubt.

She pointed to the magazine and asked the staff to find the dress for her, but she didn’t let Frederick watch her try it on. Charlotte believed that even as a couple or lovers, there should be some mystery.

After picking out the dress, Chloe headed home first.

Frederick took Charlotte and picked up Lola to take PR photos for Vertex Innovations Group.

Charlotte was a bit hesitant.

Frederick knew what was on her mind. He held the steering wheel, eyes on the road, and gently asked her, "Charlotte, am I not worth you being brave one more time?"

He lowered his voice, not wanting Lola to hear. "Are you willing to be close to me but not willing to marry me?"

Charlotte leaned back in her seat, quietly watching him.

Just then, the light turned red.

He turned to her, gently holding her hand, and said softly, "Charlotte, we can be a couple and date at the same time. I want more than just your body; I want to possess you in every way. Give me a chance. Don't reject me again."

Charlotte gently clasped his hand.

If she didn't give him a chance, how could she be lying in his bed, letting him treat her that way? She wasn't even angry with him or arguing with him.

Frederick turned to look at her. His gaze was tender and deep. "This time, it's just us."

In the back seat, Lola listened quietly. It seemed she was really going to have a whole family.

On the day of Vertex Innovations Group's anniversary celebration, they released the public relations photos.

Unlike before, when there were just solo photos of Frederick, the PR department released a family photo of the president this time.

In the photo, Charlotte sat on the sofa holding Lola at the president's office of the Vertex Innovations Group. Charlotte was naturally graceful and elegant, and even Lola managed to keep a composed face, showing a hint of a noble smile.

Besides, Frederick stood behind the sofa, his hand on Charlotte's shoulder.

His expression was very gentle.

Anyone could see from this picture that the president of Vertex Innovations Group deeply loved his wife.

At 8 PM, at the Vertex Innovations Group hotel.

The place was packed with guests; almost all of Syeattel's high society came to support it.

Frederick stood on stage giving a speech, his gaze occasionally drifting to Charlotte. His eyes were completely those of a man looking at a woman, making people think all sorts of things.

She was truly beautiful tonight.

A dark green silk gown hugged her perfect curves, her slender waist showing no signs of having given birth.

He could hold her with one hand.

Her delicate back had beautiful lines.

After Frederick finished speaking, the host excitedly said, "Thank you, Mr. Hawkins, for your passionate speech!"

Frederick smiled slightly. "My passion was easy to arouse with Mrs. Hawkins present."

Everyone was stunned; they didn't expect Frederick to say that. Weren't the newspapers saying he was a monk and not into women?

While everyone was in a daze, Frederick had already walked down.

He looked at Charlotte and smiled gentlemanly. "Mrs. Hawkins, may I have this dance?"

Charlotte looked at his dashing figure, her heart stirred.

She had been with him since she was 24, for five years in total. They got married, and had Lola, but today was the first time their relationship was officially made public.

She couldn't help but be moved.

The music was "Moonlight Sonata," and he held her as they danced, not with any advanced dance moves, just holding each other. After who knew how long, Frederick lifted her face and gently kissed her.
