Chapter 587 I Won't Have Trouble Finding Someone to Sleep With!

When Amara had unbuttoned halfway, her body shook with so much emotion she almost couldn't keep going.

Kingsley stood just a step away, his blue eyes cold and distant, looking at her like she was some stranger trying to sell herself.

Given his background, if he hadn't kept himself pure, scenes like this would've happened a lot. But he had; he wasn't clueless about feelings, just super picky.

No one had ever caught his eye, except Amara.

But now, here she was, unbuttoning her clothes and crying. She would rather have a transactional relationship with him than marry him and have kids.

"Stop!" Kingsley suddenly said, staring at Amara while she hugged herself, still trembling.

He stared at her for a long time and then said, "It's not like I can't find someone to sleep with!"

He turned sideways and slowly put out his cigarette in the ashtray, moving like he was deep in thought.

Finally, he stood up straight and said in a serious tone, "The watch is a gift for you! Think of it as a token for your company these past few days."

After that, he smiled faintly. His smile was beautiful, even when he was super angry but seemed calm.

Amara looked at him greedily. But Kingsley had already turned his back to her, saying in a low voice, "Get out! Don't make me see you again, or I can't promise what I'll do!"

For a long time, she didn't move, just stood there.

Kingsley waited a moment, didn't turn around, and said again, "Get out!"

"Okay!" Amara's voice trembled. After a while, she picked up her clothes from the floor and put them on piece by piece.

Her hands shook even more than when she was undressing. She knew their relationship was over. Soon he would leave Stellaria City, and she might never see him again.

Then she dressed, walked slowly to him, and said hoarsely, "Thank you!"

Kingsley avoided her gaze, meticulously straightened his shirt buttons, opened the door for her, and outside stood Rebecca.

Rebecca seemed to breathe a sigh of relief when the door opened. "Mr. Hawkins!"

Kingsley stepped out of the hotel suite and said, "Let's leave immediately. The meeting is rescheduled for 3 PM."

Rebecca nodded, then looked at Amara with mixed emotions.

Rebecca rarely messed up at work, but this time she did something personal. Kingsley took the elevator downstairs, but she stayed behind, sighed, and walked into the suite.

Rebecca asked Amara, "What did you do to upset Mr. Hawkins? He has a bad temper, but he really cares about you."

Rebecca always felt Amara was hiding something. Otherwise, she wouldn't have treated him that way.

Amara shook her head lightly and said, "It's just that I can't get along with him."

Amara shakily took out the watch. She wanted to keep it as a memento but thought it was too valuable, so she asked Rebecca to return it.

Rebecca was even more confused.

In the end, Rebecca accepted the watch and sighed. "If you ever run into any trouble, just let me know."

Amara was deeply moved. She nodded, then slowly walked out, but after stepping out, she couldn't help but turn back to the place where she had spent a few intimate days with Kingsley. She would never forget him.

Amara left the hotel, but she had nowhere to go. Outside, Desiree suddenly got out of a blue taxi and called out to her.

Desiree looked at Amara with resentment, but on the street, she couldn't get angry.

Finally, they ended up in a small, greasy restaurant. The table was sticky, and the cups were dirty, but neither of them cared.

Desiree got straight to the point. "Ralph's not doing well and needs someone to take care of him. You go take care of him, and we'll be at ease."

Amara sat quietly, her face pale.

Seeing her not respond, Desiree raised her voice. "Amara, did you hear me? If we hadn't adopted you, would you have what you have today? You're a slave to the Graham Family for life. Don't even think about leaving Ralph to marry into a wealthy family!"

Desiree sneered. "You've been sleeping with Kingsley these days; you must have made a lot of money! Hand it over. We're planning to buy a big house for Ralph."

"I have no money! You adopted me, but I repaid you with that $800,000. As for Ralph, I don't love him!"

Desiree slapped Amara, but she remained unfazed. Since childhood, Amara had been beaten by Desiree countless times. When she was young, Ralph would secretly apply medicine for her, but as they grew up, he hurt her too. So Amara loathed them.

Desiree raised her voice. "Do you think sleeping with a rich man makes you noble? You and your mother are both sluts!"

Desiree started rummaging through Amara's luggage, but she only found a few thousand dollars. Besides that, the most valuable items were a set of skincare products and a few pieces of cheap jewelry, which wouldn't sell for more than twenty thousand dollars.

Desiree's throat tightened. "You slept with Kingsley and only got these!?"

Desiree picked out the most inconspicuous hand cream and threw it into the trash can. "Useless stuff!"

Like a madwoman, Desiree grabbed Amara's hair and tried to smash her head against the wall. Desiree was used to bullying Amara. But this time, she didn't get her way. Amara pushed Desiree away fiercely; she was even more frantic. She grabbed Desiree's hair and smashed her head against the wall too.

Amara's voice turned hoarse with emotion. "Could I choose my birth? What's wrong with falling in love with Kingsley? He's a thousand times better than any of you."

Kingsley hated Amara, but in the end, he couldn't bear to hurt her.

Amara's eyes were full of tears.

Desiree was hit so hard that she felt dizzy, her forehead covered in blood, slowly kneeling down.

But Amara couldn't care about her.

Amara was trembling all over. She squatted down, picked up the hand cream from the trash can, and carefully wiped it with her clothes.

Amara cried her heart out.

For over 20 years, she had endured every injustice without resistance, all because Ralph gave her medicine.

Later, Amara realized that all the kindness came with conditions, just like Desiree said, raising her meant she belonged to the Graham Family, and all the money she earned had to be spent on Ralph.

They always said it was Amara's fate.

Amara's life was worthless, but the last straw that broke her was the hand cream Kingsley gave her.

Until the sound of sirens filled the air, Amara was still holding the hand cream, staring blankly.
