Chapter 893 Bruce, I Don't Want to Be Hurt by You Twice!
Sienna's stubbornness had a playful edge to it.
Bruce knew she wasn't really playing around, but he couldn't help feeling a bit touched.
His voice softened, becoming low and gentle. "It's not medicine, it's peppermint tea! Women used to drink this to feel better!"
Sienna still refused.
She was bundled up tightly, with only her eyes showing. She pouted and bargained with him, "Bruce, I'm not some woman from the past! Drinking this will just make me gain weight."
Bruce patiently coaxed her, "But it'll make your stomach feel better! And I've already drawn a hot bath for you."
Suddenly, Sienna reached out and placed her hand on his forehead.
Bruce was taken aback.
He looked deeply at her hand. Sienna had been pampered since childhood, and her hands were long and beautiful.
When she tried to pull her hand away, he caught it, his voice low and husky. "What are you doing?"
Sienna pulled her hand back. "I was checking if you had a fever! You're acting like a decent person for once!"
Bruce could tell she was scolding him.
His gaze grew even more intense. He looked at Sienna for a long time before saying softly, "If you keep being so stubborn, I'll have to force the medicine down your throat!"
Sienna called him a brute.
Then she got up on her own, took the bowl, and drank the peppermint tea.
It turned out the old remedy worked. After drinking it, she still found it bitter and naturally handed the bowl back to Bruce, asking for candy.
"Bruce, I want a plum candy."
They both froze for a moment.
Yes, back in their best days, whenever Sienna was sick, Bruce would patiently coax her. After she took her medicine, he would always give her a plum candy. He had once spoiled her too.
Sienna blinked gently.
After a moment, she smiled faintly. "Sorry, I lost my composure."
Bruce didn't acknowledge her apology. He stared at her intently for a long time before speaking softly. "I don't have any plum candy on me, but I remember that besides plum candy, your favorite was..."
Bruce didn't finish his sentence. He chose to act.
He gently cupped the back of Sienna's neck, pulling her towards him.
Their foreheads touched as they gazed into each other's eyes, their breaths quick and uneven, lips slightly parted, hinting at what was to come.
Bruce captured her lips.
He held her close, kissing her deeply and tenderly, his taste overpowering the slight bitterness of the peppermint.
"Bruce!"
Sienna murmured, "Do you know what you're doing?"
He knew.
Bruce knew he shouldn't, but in that moment, he couldn't help himself.
He couldn't help wanting to hold Sienna, to kiss her. He didn't apologize because he could feel that Sienna's body was yearning for him too.
Their time living together had actually been quite harmonious.
Just as Bruce tightened his embrace, wanting to take things further, Sienna suddenly pushed him away.
She didn't slap him or say anything harsh. She simply curled up and quietly looked at the inside of the bed.
It was only then that Bruce spoke softly, "Can we try to start over?"
"No."
Sienna sniffled, honestly telling him, "Because I like you too much! Bruce, I don't want to be hurt by the same man twice!"
She liked Bruce too much, and his feelings for her were mostly based on her appearance.
How fragile that was.
The next time Bruce got bored, his personality wouldn't hesitate. He wouldn't think about responsibility.
The only compensation he could think of would be to buy Sienna a piece of jewelry. Damn jewelry!
