Chapter 387 I'll Give Myself To You

Charlotte wrapped up her call and tossed her phone aside.

She kept chatting with Chloe, who looked like she wanted to ask something but was too chicken to do it.

It was weird. Charlotte was younger than her, and technically, Chloe was her aunt. So why was she so scared to ask?

Chloe hated how much of a wimp she was.

She trailed behind Charlotte to the little garden out back, where the greenhouse was packed with white roses. Frederick must've planted them for Charlotte.

Frederick was such a romantic!

Charlotte snipped a few bunches of roses, added some leaves, and carefully arranged a few bouquets.

They looked amazing.

She said casually, "These roses Frederick planted are enough to keep me busy."

Chloe, being slow on the uptake, finally got what she meant after a bit.

Charlotte loved roses, but only the ones Frederick gave her.

Chloe felt a twinge of envy.

Charlotte glanced up and saw Chloe's spaced-out look, and couldn't help but laugh. "Thinking about Andrew, huh?"

Chloe's cheeks went a bit red.

Charlotte thought for a second and said, "I heard Andrew wants to take you and Gavin to Copenhegan for New Year's. What do you think?"

Usually, Chloe trusted her a lot.

Even though Andrew was Charlotte's uncle, Chloe still spilled everything to her.

She leaned on Charlotte's shoulder, looking kinda lost. "Charlotte, I haven't made up my mind yet! I want to go, but I'm scared I'll be let down!"

Charlotte gave her a gentle pat.

Chloe didn't say anything else and just snuggled closer.

Frederick came home with the kids and saw them like that. He told Lola and Johnny to go play and walked over. Since they were outside, he pulled out a cigarette, lit it, took a drag, and grinned. "What's going on here? Still acting like a baby with Charlotte?"

Chloe's eyes got a bit teary, and she turned away, embarrassed.

Charlotte shot Frederick a look.

It was a mix of scolding and affection.

But it also had that special something only couples get.

Frederick took another drag, his cheeks hollowing out, looking all rugged.

He smiled and, not caring that Chloe was there, gently brushed Charlotte's cheek, a move that always made her heart skip a beat.

She looked down and fiddled with the vase, her expression softening.

Frederick stubbed out his cigarette and touched her belly, asking in a husky voice, "Has the little one been good today?"

Charlotte nodded.

This baby was a girl, and she was super chill.

Chloe couldn't bear to see their display of affection and bolted, leaving the couple alone.

With Chloe gone, Frederick got even bolder.

He wrapped his arms around Charlotte from behind, his hands gently caressing her belly, and whispered in her ear, "I heard someone sent you flowers?"

Charlotte frowned. How did he know?

Then she turned around, clinging to his shoulder, and said softly, "Don't worry about it! Landon is useful right now."

Frederick knew she was dealing with Tina.

He thought for a moment and said, "Isn't it too much hassle?"

Frederick's face showed some anger, and Charlotte gently smoothed his brow, lowering her voice. "I know what you're thinking! But Frederick, we're not like them!"

Frederick smirked. "Mrs. Hawkins, but I think your method is just as ruthless!"

After he spoke, he got a bit lost in thought.

He remembered the astrologer.

He thought that if it weren't for Tina's evil deeds, Charlotte wouldn't have had an accident, and the master wouldn't have died.

Tina's end was gonna be rough.

Charlotte looked up and said softly, "When people are on the verge of collapse, their true colors show! And I'm waiting for Tina to hit rock bottom, then..."

Then she'd spill everything.

Frederick gazed at her gentle expression, grateful for her deep love for him.

When they were alone, he didn't want to keep talking about unpleasant people, so he switched gears. "Gavin's birthday is coming up. What do you think we should get him?"

Charlotte knew he cared for Gavin and Chloe even more.

The birthday gift was just an excuse; he just wanted a reason to give something to Chloe.

Charlotte followed him to the master bedroom on the second floor.

Inside the dressing room, there was a hidden door that opened to reveal a row of safes, all filled with sets of jewelry, very precious and rare.

Charlotte carefully picked through them, occasionally asking for Frederick's opinion, "How about this set of jewelry? Frederick, are you even paying attention?"

Charlotte turned around, a bit annoyed.

Frederick leaned against the opposite cabinet, his tall frame relaxed and stretched out. Hearing her, he lazily smiled. "Isn't it Gavin's birthday? Why are you picking out jewelry for Chloe? Don't spoil her too much."

Then he couldn't help but step forward, hugging his wife's waist and kissing her.

Since Charlotte got pregnant, Frederick had been super careful whenever they got intimate. Even with just a kiss, he was very cautious, trying not to press on her belly.

Charlotte was held against the cabinet.

She tilted her head to kiss him back.

In the end, he pressed his lips against hers and whispered, "Charlotte, you really know how to spoil the kids."

Charlotte played with his belt buckle. "That's because I know what you're thinking!"

Frederick raised an eyebrow, his handsome face exuding the charm of a mature man.

Charlotte smiled lightly. "Actually, I have my own motives too! Frederick, you said that Vertex Innovations Group would be for Lola in the future, the Hawkins Group would be inherited by Kingsley. What about Gavin?"

Frederick naturally replied, "Isn't there Andrew?"

Charlotte's expression became even softer. "So, I want to give more to Chloe now. Not only do I want to give Chloe jewelry, but I also want to give Gavin a big villa for his future wife!"

She said this on purpose and turned to continue picking out jewelry.

Frederick, however, was deeply moved. He hugged her from behind. "You really know how to spoil the kids! You've given jewelry and a villa to them. What will you give me?"

Charlotte paused.

After a moment, she placed her hand on his, and softly said, "I'll give myself to you!"

Frederick didn't say anything more.

He gently held her, savoring the peaceful beauty of the moment.
