Chapter 121: Charlotte, Call Me Darling

The room went dead silent.

The guys who were drinking and playing Texas Hold'em all turned to look at Charlotte.

Katherine sat next to Frederick, acting like the hostess of the party.

Charlotte felt awkward.

If she was here for fun, no one had invited her.

If she was here to catch them red-handed, she had no ties to Frederick.

Robert, who had a bad run-in with her before, spoke up first, sounding sharp: "Charlotte's here! Wanna join us?"

Charlotte glanced at Frederick.

Frederick was dressed down today, in a black shirt and pants, smoking on the sofa.

That laid-back look was new to Charlotte.

Frederick gave her a displeased look but didn't say anything.

Katherine leaned over and kissed Robert, then joked, "Robert, don't tease Miss Russell. She probably won't play!"

Charlotte clenched her fists.

Frederick's gaze was intense.

He stared at Charlotte for a bit, then finally said, "Charlotte, you should go back!" It sounded like he was dismissing her, making it seem like she was here to catch him in the act but couldn't take him away.

Robert sneered, feeling satisfied.

Someone then said, "Alright, let's not push Charlotte. Let's keep playing." The room got lively again.

But then a soft voice said, "I can play!"

It was so soft it almost got lost in the noise.

But Frederick heard it; it was Charlotte.

His gaze hardened, and his tone got harsher. "Charlotte, go back!"

No one dared to speak; it was clear Frederick was very unhappy.

Maybe Charlotte had disrespected him!

In the silence, Oliver chuckled and said, "Charlotte says she can play, so let her!"

He pulled Charlotte to sit next to him and poured her a glass of red wine.

Oliver added, "If you lose, you drink. If you win, you can ask anyone for anything! No limits!"

Frederick's voice was low. "Oliver!"

Oliver laughed. "Frederick, scared to play? Katherine's given plenty of hot kisses, but with Charlotte, you can't handle it? Is it because she's your girlfriend, and you're jealous?"

Frederick glanced at Charlotte.

He stubbed out his cigarette and, for once, joined the game. "Let's play!"

The rules were simple, just comparing card values!

In the first round, Robert won. Despite his issues with Charlotte, Frederick's unclear stance made him cautious.

So he gave Katherine a deep kiss that made everyone blush.

After the kiss, Katherine giggled and said to Frederick, "If I win, I want to kiss you deeply!"

Frederick ignored her.

Charlotte had the smallest hand and drank half a glass of red wine.

With her already fair skin, the wine tinted it with a touch of pink. Oliver, sitting next to her, couldn't hide his interest. His gaze at Charlotte was obvious.

Everyone in the room noticed, unless they were blind!

Coincidentally, Oliver won the next round.

The room went quiet.

Something exciting was about to happen.

Frederick threw down his cards and stared deeply at Charlotte.

Before Charlotte could react, Oliver leaned over her, his hands on either side of her head.

He leaned in, brushing his nose against Charlotte's.

Charlotte looked up at him, feeling helpless.

Her long lashes fluttered, and her ears turned pink, making her look both cute and enticing.

Oliver's gaze darkened.

In the corner, Ethan flicked his cigarette ash, thinking gloomily that if he were Oliver, he'd kiss Charlotte deeply, even if Frederick broke his legs.

Four years of relationship, and he had never tasted her.

Everyone thought Oliver would kiss Charlotte, but only she knew he wouldn't. There was a cautious tenderness in his eyes.

Oliver's Adam's apple bobbed; he really wanted to kiss her.

But he didn't. He leaned close to her ear and whispered, "I want to hear you call me 'darling.'"

The room went silent.

No one dared to speak!

Frederick's face looked extremely unpleasant!

Robert winked and cleared his throat. "Oliver, that's enough!"

Oliver looked up at Frederick. "Frederick, is this okay?"

Frederick said nothing.

He lit a cigarette and slowly exhaled the smoke.

Katherine laughed.

She thought, Charlotte probably wanted Frederick to care, but she was overthinking it! These little games in their circle were nothing; calling someone 'darling' in jest was nothing.

Frederick wouldn't care at all!

In the end, only Charlotte would be embarrassed!

At this moment, Oliver leaned in again, his body almost draped over Charlotte's, but without touching her.

His gaze and voice were very gentle. "Charlotte, call me 'darling.'"

Charlotte had been drinking and was up for it!

She stared into Oliver's eyes, as if, in that moment, her whole world was Oliver, as if she and Oliver were deeply in love.

Charlotte's red lips parted slightly, her voice husky and very sexy. "Oliver, darli..."

She didn't get to finish the last word.

Her hand was grabbed forcefully and pulled up, and she was then dragged into a warm embrace.

Frederick led Charlotte toward the door.

He left a parting remark. "Put it on my tab for tonight."

The room went silent.

Oliver straightened his clothes.

He shrugged and smiled at the others. "Sure enough, Frederick couldn't handle it! Katherine, Charlotte's gone, so how about you call me 'darling'?"

Katherine's face turned pale.

She really hadn't expected Frederick to care about Charlotte to that extent!

Didn't he love her, Katherine, a lot? He could watch her kiss others, but he couldn't stand Charlotte calling someone else 'darling'!

Frederick took Charlotte outside.

The night breeze blew away her drunkenness.

She tried to free her hand, but Frederick held it tightly. When they reached the parking lot, he shoved her into his gold Bentley.

Once in the car, Frederick didn't start it immediately.

He gripped the steering wheel, staring ahead. "Did Chloe bring you here?"

Charlotte was already feeling wronged, so she turned her face away and ignored him.

Frederick turned to look at her profile. He felt Charlotte looked more beautiful every day, and each time he saw her, she gave him a different feeling.

He looked at her, then stepped on the gas.

Charlotte thought he was going to drive back to the apartment, but after two turns, the car stopped in front of the nearest five-star hotel.

"Get out!"

He unbuckled his seatbelt and got out, then walked around to her side.

Charlotte knew what he wanted to do; he just wanted to make love.

But she wouldn't, she didn't want to!
