Chapter 430 Charlotte, Feeling Uncomfortable?
Frederick grabbed a bite with Chloe. By 2 PM, he was back at the hospital room where the doc and nurse were checking on Sienna.
Sienna had stripped down. She was totally naked, chubby, and super cute.
Charlotte was hanging out nearby. Frederick strolled over and wrapped an arm around her waist.
He used to think Lola was his number one, but after Sienna came along, he realized he had room in his heart for both.
There were folks all around, but Sienna didn't care. She kicked her chubby legs and giggled, showing off her gummy smile.
Frederick glanced at Charlotte and saw the tenderness in her eyes. He felt a tug at his heart and quietly held her hand.
Charlotte seemed to notice him just then. She whispered, "How's Chloe doing?"
Frederick kept his eyes on Sienna. After a moment, he said, "I think she should move back to Mom and Dad's. Pregnant women overthink, especially with her and Andrew's drama."
Charlotte nodded. She leaned on his shoulder and said, "You need to talk to her."
Frederick stayed quiet, but his gaze was intense. With so many people around, Charlotte couldn't handle his stare, so she pretended not to notice.
Just then, Patrick showed up from work, still in his suit and tie.
"Dad! What brings you here?" Frederick asked.
Patrick gave him a look, then went over to Sienna. He picked her up and started dressing her, joking, "How can you let Sienna be naked? How will she get married when she grows up?"
The doc and nurse chuckled. This was the richest guy in Syeattel, and he sure knew how to spoil kids!
Right then, Sienna peed all over him. Patrick was stunned at first, then proudly said, "Our Sienna picked this moment to pee because she missed me! When she's outta here, she's coming home with me!"
Frederick couldn't help but tease, "Dad, you sure have an imagination!"
Patrick quickly cleaned Sienna up, powdered her, put on her pink pants, and couldn't resist kissing her, "Sienna only likes me!"
When the doc and nurse left, Patrick held the baby and asked about Chloe.
Frederick smiled lightly, "You sure are in the loop!"
"Of course!" Patrick thought for a moment and said, "I got some foreign experts to check on Andrew. Our family and the Devereux family are tight! Plus, Chloe's pregnant, and we can't let the kid grow up without a dad. Their relationship is their business."
Frederick agreed. He looked at Charlotte, "What do you think?"
Charlotte agreed. That night, she couldn't sleep and kept tossing and turning.
Frederick was lying next to her. He gently held her shoulder and asked softly, "Feeling uncomfortable?" As he spoke, he reached out to touch her. "Not really!"
Charlotte didn't argue. She leaned into his arms and said softly, "Andrew's condition isn't looking good, is it?"
Charlotte had just given birth a few days ago. She hadn't seen Andrew since.
Knowing Andrew's condition, she couldn't help but worry. But there was nothing she could do except try to comfort herself.
Frederick was silent for a while. Then he said softly, "You're right. Otherwise, Dad wouldn't have stepped in so easily. You know he's still upset."
But what else could they do? That was Charlotte's uncle, Gavin's dad, anyway. Charlotte felt sad hearing this.
Frederick lowered his head to comfort her, "Don't worry. This illness isn't hopeless. It'll be fine."
Charlotte fell silent and gently hugged his waist.
The next day, Chloe came to visit again. Unexpectedly, Andrew showed up too.
The vibe was pretty tense. Andrew's gaze was deep. Chloe maintained her polite manner, acting as if nothing had happened.. She chatted with Charlotte for a bit and then left.
After Chloe left, Andrew felt conflicted. Charlotte poured him some water.
Andrew smiled faintly, "I finally had time to come see the kid." He gave Sienna a gift.
Charlotte, standing beside him, couldn't help but call out, "Uncle Andrew," and Andrew's eyes turned red.
Andrew still looked at Sienna and said softly to Charlotte, "I know you want me to be with her, but my health is bad; I can't promise her a future."
He wanted to take care of her. But he could only do so as the child's father; Adeline wouldn't let him hold her back.
