Chapter 546 I Don't Believe It, You Wouldn't Want to!
Even though they didn't argue, the vibe was still pretty off.
After a bit, Lola took a deep breath. "I'm gonna chill in the study for a while."
Just as she moved, Johnny grabbed her wrist.
He looked at her, his voice low. "Lola."
She patted his hand. "Let's both cool down. I don't wanna fight, and I never thought about giving up on you."
His heart eased a bit, but he still said softly, "You can't smoke."
Lola was a bit taken aback. She hadn't even thought about smoking, but his words reminded her: there wouldn't be any kids anyway, so what difference would it make? Still, she didn't want to mess things up between them, so she kept quiet.
She walked into the study, closed the door, and leaned against it.
The warmth from last night was gone, leaving only a sense of confusion that only she could feel.
Lola cared about Johnny.
Wanting a kid might have been a spur-of-the-moment thing, but it was something to think about for the future.
He suggested adopting a child, but she wasn't into it.
With so many siblings and their kids to love, why adopt?
Lola felt unprepared for that.
She didn't have much love to give to others, but she cared about Johnny. This seemingly tough issue needed someone to compromise.
Lola leaned on the sofa, quietly watching the night view outside the floor-to-ceiling window.
It seemed she had everything from birth: great looks, unimaginable wealth. But others didn't know that, as a child of the Hawkins Family, Kingsley and Sienna had it much easier than she did.
She lowered her gaze, looking at her flat stomach. She didn't even have the freedom to have a child.
It wasn't Johnny's fault. But she still felt trapped and uncomfortable!
Lola wanted to light a cigarette, even if she didn't smoke it, just to smell it. But she held back because Johnny didn't like her smoking. In their relationship, Lola was willing to make some concessions.
Maybe they could talk about the kid thing later!
Lola knew she was a principled person, not one to easily give in. But she was particularly tolerant of Johnny, not just because of love. As her mom said, they had more than just romantic love; they also had a familial bond.
Lola stayed in the study for about half an hour.
When she got back to the bedroom, Johnny hadn't showered yet. He was sitting on the sofa, smoking.
Seeing Lola, he looked surprised. He hadn't expected her to come out so soon.
Lola walked over, bent down, and took the cigarette from his lips, saying softly, "You told me not to smoke, but here you are, smoking."
Johnny just looked up at her.
After a while, he pulled her into his arms, holding her gently, his lips against her hair. "I'm sorry, Lola."
Lola felt a bit sad.
In this life, all her tolerance and concessions were for Johnny.
She leaned on his shoulder for a while before making a nasal sound. "Johnny, I guess I'm stuck with you for life."
Johnny gently patted her back. "Isn't being stuck with me a good thing?"
Lola smiled faintly.
It seemed the issue had passed, but Lola didn't mention marriage, and Johnny seemed to think it wasn't the right time either. They just lived together and got along pretty well.
Occasionally, Gavin would bring Molly over.
By the end of May, Molly's belly was slightly showing, and Gavin was even more careful with her.
Johnny cooked, and Gavin helped him.
While waiting for the meal, Lola felt a bit guilty, as Molly was pregnant after all.
She carefully touched Molly's small belly. "Feels like a girl."
Molly looked down, touched her belly, and smiled. "Gavin hopes it's a boy, and we can have a girl for the second child."
Lola was pretty surprised. "You want two kids?"
Molly blushed a bit and softly said, "Yes. Do you and Johnny have any plans?"
Lola smoothed her long hair and coughed lightly. "We haven't planned anything yet!"
Molly nodded. She wasn't much of a talker and didn't push further.
During the meal, Gavin served her food and even filled a small bowl with mashed potatoes.
Molly obediently ate everything Gavin gave her. Lola looked up and said, "That's not enough! Molly's eating for two!"
Gavin filled another bowl of soup and said casually, "She's only three months pregnant and keeps saying she's getting fat. The nutrition is balanced, so she won't gain weight but will still get enough nutrients. I specifically asked the doctor."
Lola looked at Molly again.
She drank the small bowl of soup very carefully, clearly wanting more.
Lola sighed and thought, 'Being pregnant is really tough! And Gavin is too strict. Clearly, he wants to control Molly. Luckily, Molly doesn't seem to mind. They really are a perfect match. If it were me, I wouldn't be able to stand it.'
After the meal, Gavin and Johnny went into the study.
It was clear this wasn't just a casual gathering; the two men had business to discuss.
While they talked, Lola and Molly watched a movie on the sofa.
When the movie showed a steamy scene with the female lead sitting on the guy's lap, Molly's face turned red.
Lola watched with great interest. She even turned her head and asked, "You and Gavin never did this?"
"No!" Molly's voice was small, clearly lying.
Lola smiled but didn't call her out.
Just then, Johnny and Gavin came out of the study. Seeing what was on the screen, Gavin raised an eyebrow slightly. "You're watching this!"
Lola lazily turned off the video.
Gavin looked at Molly again, and she immediately lowered her face.
Gavin wouldn't tease her in front of others. In the car, while fastening his seatbelt, he asked casually, "Didn't you feel anything watching that?"
Molly whispered, "It was quite good."
Gavin chuckled lightly. He leaned over and gently lifted her chin. "We haven't had sex for a while! Don't you miss it?"
Molly's face turned red, and she forgot to breathe.
After a long time, she squeezed out a sentence, "The doctor said we can't fool around during pregnancy!"
Gavin touched her cheek, his voice huskier than before. "I asked the doctor. He said that during the first three months of pregnancy, as long as we're gentle when we have sex, it's fine."
Molly bit her lip. "You even asked the doctor about this?"
Gavin just kept looking at her, making Molly uncomfortable enough to turn her face away.
Gavin smiled and started the car. But instead of heading home, he drove to the nearest five-star hotel, parking in the lot five minutes later.
Molly was reluctant to go.
In broad daylight, she felt a sense of guilt about going to a hotel.
Gavin naturally unfastened his seatbelt and said softly, "I have a meeting at four this afternoon! Let's hurry and we can do it twice!"
Molly couldn't hold back and whispered, "You're shameless."
For Gavin, that was nothing. He took his wife to the front desk and got a suite. In the elevator, Molly was still angry. She whispered, "You won't enjoy it this way!"
Gavin found her adorable and pinched her cheek.
Maybe because of the pregnancy, Molly's skin was even more delicate than before. During the nights he couldn't touch her, Gavin could only satisfy himself by touching her!
In no time, the elevator reached the top floor.
Molly was still angry and walked ahead.
Being pregnant, she waddled a bit like a little penguin, which was pretty cute.
Gavin followed behind, his eyes incredibly tender.
The room key was in Molly's hand. She swiped it with a bit of a temper, and just as she was about to turn around to look at Gavin, she was stunned.
The suite had been decorated: the carpet was lined with small, fluffy white bunnies, and there were at least hundreds of them!
On the white bed, there were roses and a large, exquisite box.
Molly leaned against the door frame and turned around.
She looked at Gavin and said softly, "You prepared this? You didn't even tell me!"
Gavin walked over and patted her head. "Do you like it? Today is our two-year anniversary."
Of course, Molly liked it.
Compared to the expensive gift on the bed, she liked the little bunnies more. She picked one up and couldn't put it down. "How do we take these back? The apartment is too small to fit them. Gavin, what should we do?"
Gavin leaned close to her. "The villa is almost ready! I'll have them sent there!"
Molly was satisfied.
She then went to open the box on the bed. Inside was a wedding dress.
Her eyes welled up.
This was her first creation, which had been auctioned off. It turned out Gavin had it.
Gavin hugged her from behind, his voice low and gentle. "Back then, I hadn't fallen for you yet. I just thought the dress was beautiful and bought it. Molly, let's save it for our daughter, okay?"
Molly sniffled and nodded.
While she was still moved, Gavin picked her up and gently placed her on the bed.
"Gavin!" She called him. "Weren't we here to celebrate?"
Gavin decisively started unbuttoning her dress, his voice hoarse with excitement. "We just celebrated. Now let me please you."
Molly's mood was very different from when she arrived!
Now, no matter how eager Gavin seemed, she felt good. She wrapped her arms around his neck and whispered, "Be gentle!"
Gavin simply lifted her, letting her sit on his lap.
Molly feared this the most, feeling both angry and shy!
Every time he did this, he not only said embarrassing things but also made her watch. Despite being very shy, Gavin always led her into a state of desire.
At 3 PM, Gavin kissed the nearly asleep Molly and whispered, "I have to go to the office. I'll come back to pick you up later! We'll have dinner out tonight!"
Since becoming pregnant, Molly had become more dependent on him.
As he was about to leave, she couldn't help but cling to his neck, acting spoiled. She didn't say anything, just held on tight.
Gavin liked this. He held her and comforted her softly for a while, kissed her again, and then left.
After he left, Molly hugged a little bunny and quickly fell asleep.
Gavin had business to attend to, but in the elevator, he still reminisced about their recent intimacy!
He couldn't help but chuckle.
He was in his prime, at the best age for a man, exuding charm with every move.
In the hotel parking lot, Sarah sat in her car, quietly watching Gavin. Her heart was filled with bitterness, regret, and a bit of unwillingness.
She knew why Gavin had brought Molly here!
She had been involved with Gavin and couldn't imagine that a man like him would go to such lengths to make a woman happy.
His expression still showed the satisfaction of recent intimacy.
Sarah bit her lip. When Gavin walked over, she got out of the car. "Gavin!"
Gavin stopped. He looked at Sarah, slightly frowning.
The matters between their families were basically over. The Hughes Family had suffered a crushing defeat and wouldn't recover for at least five years.
Gavin hadn't taken any further action.
All he wanted was for Sarah to never dare provoke him again, nothing more.
Sarah bent down and took an invitation from her car. It was her wedding invitation.
Gavin didn't take it, but Sarah insisted, placing the invitation on his car roof. "Will you come?"
Gavin took out a cigarette, lit it, and took a puff. He said rather casually, "Probably not."
Sarah's face turned pale, and she smiled faintly. "I figured. She wouldn't be happy about it."
Hesitating, she took the invitation back.
Next week, she would marry a man she didn't love. Today, she came to say goodbye.
The man was wealthy but about ten years older than her and had lost his first wife. She would be his second wife.
The Sarah from before would never have agreed. But now she had no choice. The man offered too much to the Hughes Family.
Gavin stubbed out his cigarette, got in the car, and was about to close the door when Sarah said one last thing, "I'm very unwilling. I did so much for you, but I've never seen Molly do anything for you!"
She waited for Gavin to waver. But Gavin just gently stroked the steering wheel and said, "I only like her as she is."
Since when did love become about how much one did? He liked her, and that was enough! Besides, he had enough charm to make Molly like him.
Gavin closed the car door, and the luxurious black car slowly drove away. Sarah watched the car leave, tilting her head back to take a deep breath.
It was over!
Her secret crush had ended in failure!
When Gavin arrived at the office, he was about to open the car door but paused.
He sent Molly a Facebook message with just a photo, without writing anything. He had secretly taken it one night when she was asleep.
The bedroom light was warm and yellow. She seemed a bit hot, her face flushed, looking pure and adorable.
Gavin had unknowingly stared at her for a long time before taking the photo.
After sending it, he couldn't help but look at it for a while.
He suddenly remembered a question Sarah had once asked him. She asked why he chose Molly when she had better qualifications.
He thought, 'It must be love! After all, love doesn't always make sense.'
After Gavin left, Johnny started cleaning.
He was very good at housework, not at all like a billionaire CEO.
Lola was munching on an apple. "Johnny, shouldn't you hire a maid? You seem pretty busy, and doing housework and cooking might be too tiring."
"Are you worried about me?" he asked with a light laugh.
Lola swung her long legs and hummed vaguely. Johnny's voice came over. "Sometimes, doing housework is a way to relax after being busy."
Lola didn't like doing chores. Her way of relaxing was to go drinking, but it seemed she hadn't gone in a long time. Having a boyfriend really made a difference.
She looked at him, deep in thought.
Johnny seemed to know what she was thinking. "Don't even think about going to a bar! Lola, you have a boyfriend now!"
"Just to relax!"
"Still not allowed! You shouldn't go out!"
Lola laughed. "Are you going to tie me up with a belt?"
Johnny said calmly, "If you like that kind of play, I can accommodate."
Lola snorted, "You're really shameless!"
Johnny wanted to say more, but his phone rang. It was an unfamiliar number.
The caller got straight to the point. "Is this Johnny? I'm sorry to inform you that your father has passed away in prison."
Johnny was slightly stunned.
The words "he's not my father" couldn't come out of his mouth!
The man was dead; there was no point in holding grudges.
Lola heard some of it too. She gently patted his shoulder and said softly, "Go handle the funeral. It's the last time."
