Chapter 68 Frederick Really Understood Women
Peering down at her, Frederick's deep blue eyes locked onto hers.
Charlotte blushed but decided to sit on his lap, wrapping her arms around his neck. "Frederick, I'm all fresh now," she murmured.
Without a word, Frederick enfolded her in his embrace and planted a passionate kiss on her lips.
The intensity of his kiss felt like it could melt her entirely. Charlotte's legs nearly gave out, yet she clung on with her hands.
She had anticipated an intimate night, but Frederick simply held her close for an extended moment. Eventually, he rested his head on her shoulder and sighed softly. "I'm wiped out. How about we postpone this for a few days?"
Charlotte's body quivered. Thanks to Frederick, she was experiencing emotions like never before. Yet, just as things got heated, he hit the brakes. What was she meant to make of this?
In his mature demeanor, Frederick offered a gentle smile, scooped her up, and carried her to the bedroom. "But I will take care of you first, alright?"
The following morning, Charlotte awoke to find Frederick at her bedside, adjusting his tie. Upon noticing her stir, he leaned in and planted a tender morning kiss on her lips.
Softly, he remarked, "I've got a meeting. You can catch some more sleep. Oh, and Jessica's taking the day off today."
Charlotte wanted to get up and make him breakfast.
Frederick gently pressed her back down, his gaze deep. "I'll have Cherie bring something to eat to the company."
Charlotte murmured in agreement.
After they had made out last night, they were now unable to break from a kiss. That was when Charlotte noticed that he sported the shirt she had bought him.
Rocking the coffee-colored shirt with gray trousers and a burgundy striped tie, he exuded a youthful, dashing elegance. With his charm, no woman could resist him! Charlotte was no exception, tenderly feeling the fabric of the shirt.
Frederick checked the time, kissed her again, and left.
Charlotte wanted to sleep a bit more; they had stayed up too late last night.
Though he hadn't entirely conquered her, it felt close. These thoughts made her blush and her heart race. She pondered what he was holding out for, evident in his impatient expression. His expression had clearly shown impatience.
Later in the day, Lily beckoned her to a café meetup.
Seated, Lily revealed an envelope. "Saturday night, Silver Lining Hotel, 2nd floor business hall."
Charlotte examined it closely.
Lily cleared her throat, leaning in to inquire, "Did Frederick agree?"
Recalling the previous night, although they hadn't crossed a certain line, Charlotte sensed Frederick's understanding and skill with women.
Blushing, she responded cautiously, "I think he'll."
Lily sighed in relief, playfully nudging Charlotte, "See? Men are like putty when they're satisfied."
Charlotte nearly choked on her coffee.
Patting her back, Lily shared gossip. "Apparently, Ethan was initially reluctant but changed his mind upon hearing you'd be there, even footing a tab for drinks."
Charlotte composedly smiled, "He really shouldn't have."
Observing Charlotte, Lily quipped, "Look at you, discussing Ethan without a flutter in your heart! You've only got eyes for Frederick now."
Charlotte gently shook her head. "We're just taking it day by day. There's no long-term plan for us."
Lily was about to offer comfort when a group of chic women emerged from the opposite elevator. Gritting her teeth, Lily remarked, "Why is it that conflicting figures always cross paths at the worst times?"
