Chapter 543 Johnny, You are Such a Scoundrel!
Travis just stared at her.
He hadn't said a word in ages. Right in front of him was his ex-wife, a woman he felt sorry for but didn't love.
And now, he was totally exposed.
Melissa chuckled softly and said, "Honestly, I knew all along!"
She suddenly grabbed him, leaned in close, and whispered in his ear, "We can team up! You give the kid a legal status, and when Johnny and Lola get tired of each other, you go after Lola. Meanwhile, with the Flores Family bloodline, I can stay by Johnny's side. It's a win-win, right?"
Travis looked down at her, his throat tightening. Melissa's plan was tempting, but he just couldn't go through with it!
When he said he wanted to remarry her, he genuinely felt sorry for her and wanted to give her and the kid a home. But now, it seemed like it was all just his wishful thinking. Melissa didn't need his pity; she was great at looking out for herself.
Travis suddenly pushed her away, his chest heaving. "I can't do that!"
Melissa stepped back, looking a bit shocked. After a long pause, she gave him a cold smile. "Travis, can you honestly say you never had any improper thoughts about Lola? If not, why did your parents beg the Hawkins Family for a match?"
Travis's face turned a bit red.
Melissa wasn't entirely wrong, but he believed he had treated her well. During their marriage, she didn't let him touch her, and he never cheated on her. Later, when she wanted to go after Johnny, he let her go. So why was she being so harsh now?
Travis had been privileged his whole life; he just couldn't get it.
His mom was so mad she needed surgery, but Melissa was still obsessed with Johnny. Suddenly, Travis felt exhausted. The past few years with her felt like a mistake!
Travis calmed down, his tone softening. "That was after our divorce! Melissa, let's handle this with some dignity! Let's part ways!"
Melissa was stunned. She couldn't believe Travis was willing to reject her. When they got married, he had promised to take care of her for life and never abandon her!
How could he change now?
Melissa's voice was hoarse. "Travis, you don't want to take care of me anymore? What about me? What about the child in my belly?"
Travis's voice was cold. "You can find the child's biological father!"
Melissa's voice turned hysterical. "Travis, you bastard!"
But Travis didn't want to stay there anymore! He opened the door and quickly walked out. He desperately needed some fresh air.
Talking to Melissa made him feel suffocated!
From the ward behind him came the sound of Melissa throwing things. If it were before, Travis would have been worried she might hurt herself, but now he was numb!
His dad was right; why should he go against his parents for Melissa, make things difficult for Lola, and hurt the person he truly liked?
Looking back on the past few years, he felt like a fool.
Now, he was awake!
Travis returned, and Percival was taking care of Sierra. Hearing the footsteps, he knew it was Travis and couldn't help but snort, "Still willing to come back?"
Travis stepped forward and took the hot towel from Percival's hand. "Dad, let me take care of mom!"
Percival's fingers stiffened. He wanted to scold him again, but seeing his son, who had been miserable for years, he just couldn't. He sighed, "Travis, we are doing this for your own good! Even if the other party's background isn't great, it doesn't matter. What's important is that they have good character and genuine feelings for you. But Melissa has none of that! If you stay with her, we won't be at peace even in death!"
Travis's throat tightened. After a moment, he knelt down lightly and said emotionally, "Dad, I'm sorry! I've made things clear with her. I won't care about her anymore!"
Percival sighed. "I hope you truly see her for what she is!"
Travis didn't say anything.
It was already late at night. He went out to grab some food, and when he got back to the hospital, a nurse was waiting outside the room. Seeing him, she said anxiously, "Travis? Melissa tried to commit suicide by cutting her wrist. She wants to see you!"
Travis was slightly stunned.
After a while, he said softly, "I have nothing to do with her! You've got the wrong person!"
The nurse got anxious. "Aren't you her ex-husband? She's pregnant with your child. Even if you're not together anymore, you should take responsibility!"
Travis's eyes turned red with anger. "Who told you it's my child?"
The nurse's voice lowered. "Melissa said so. She said it's the result of your love!"
Travis struggled to keep his emotions in check. After a moment, his voice was hoarse. "There was never any love between us, only use and deceit. Do you understand? Get out! Don't come to me about her again!"
The nurse's face turned ugly. She left in a huff, and Travis, in a foul mood, smoked a cigarette at the end of the corridor before heading back to the room.
At that moment, he was determined to cut ties with Melissa for good.
Lola followed Johnny back to the room.
As soon as they got in, he took off his coat and placed it lightly on the sofa, turning to say something to Lola, maybe an explanation. But Lola said calmly, "I'm going to wash off this strong perfume smell! Shall we go out for dinner later?"
Johnny didn't say anything. His brows furrowed slightly. Lola stepped forward and gently stroked them, whispering, "It's just some idle gossip. You're not such a petty person, are you?"
He finally spoke, "You're not angry?"
"What's there to be angry about?" Lola smiled. "I focus on the matter, not the person! If you did something wrong, I would be angry with you. But this is entirely between Travis and Melissa. I don't need to take it all on myself! Using other people's issues to torment myself, Mr. Flores, that would be very foolish!"
After saying that, she was about to head to the bathroom to take a shower.
The next second, Johnny pulled her into his arms, his hand gently pressing her head against his chest.
She thought, 'That feeling again!'
Lola's heart was pounding.
She was quite tall, but Johnny was taller, always making her feel delicate and fragile by his side, just leaning against him like that.
They were the same age, but he always made her feel like a little girl!
Lola's nose bumped into him, turning slightly red. Her voice was a bit hoarse, and when she spoke, it sounded like she was whining, "Johnny, what are you doing?"
"Nothing! I just want to hold you!" He lowered his head and kissed her hair, his voice softer than before. "Lola, I'm really glad I met you."
"Just glad?"
"Not just glad! A whole lot more than that!"
Lola nestled her face into the crook of his neck, her slender arms wrapped around his waist. They stayed like that for a while in the gentle night before she softly said, "Johnny, I smell bad! Let me go take a shower, okay?"
He lowered his head, his lips close to her ear. "Lola, how about I help you wash?"
Lola glared at him. "Johnny, you're such a perv!"
She wasn't having it. She pushed him away and casually walked to the bathroom.
Johnny chuckled.
Actually, he wasn't a pervert. Those thoughts never extended to anyone else, only to Lola.
He was about to light a cigarette when Travis sent him a message on Facebook: [Melissa tried to commit suicide. Either avoid her or think of a solution!]
Johnny looked at it for a long time before replying: [It's none of my business!]
Travis sneered on the other end and thought, 'You're really heartless!'
No wonder Johnny's business had been better than his over the years. A man had to be a bit ruthless.
Melissa, waiting for someone to comfort her, heard the nurse say that Travis wasn't coming and Johnny wouldn't either. She pulled out her IV and started hitting her own belly like a madwoman. "It's all your fault! If it weren't for you, I wouldn't be so hated. Why did you come into this world? Are you here to ruin me?"
The nurses held her down. "Melissa, you'll miscarry if you keep this up."
"It miscarriage would be better! No one wants him anyway!" Melissa took deep breaths.
She didn't understand. She used to be very popular, with many people wanting to date and marry her. How did it come to this? Why was everyone so good to Lola?
Lola came out of the bathroom, wearing a black spaghetti-strap dress. She was tall with long legs, her arms slender and delicate; her long hair loose, giving her a lazy look.
Johnny was leaning against the window, smoking.
Hearing footsteps, he turned around and was stunned.
Lola rarely dressed like this.
He didn't want her to go out dressed like that, so he called her over and gently touched her shoulder. "Change into something else."
Lola smelled the smoke on him.
She wrapped her arms around his neck. "What's wrong?"
Johnny lightly patted her butt, his voice hoarse. "You're really naughty!"
After saying that, they both fell silent.
The gesture reminded them of those passionate nights. Johnny was never a gentle lover, sometimes even a bit rough, but it was always very satisfying!
Even Lola, with her thick skin, blushed a little. "Talking is one thing, but why are you getting handsy?"
Clearly, Johnny was thinking the same thing. His voice deepened. "There are many places I can touch!"
Lola thought he was a real rogue! She dragged him out the door. "Take me out to eat! We rarely eat out! Even though your cooking is good, we still need to go on dates!"
Johnny chuckled. "Alright! I'll take you out to eat!"
At night, the riverside was lit up beautifully, with many music restaurants along the road, creating a great atmosphere!
Lola held Johnny's arm. She whispered, "I like it here! Johnny, can we come here for a week every year?"
Johnny smiled, his expression softer than the night!
How could he say no?
Actually, wherever Lola was, that was home!
He took her to dinner, and afterward, they sat in a café for a while.
Since their reunion, they rarely talked about the past years.
For the first time, Lola was interested in asking. And Johnny was willing to answer.
She shared some funny stories but avoided talking about Melissa, clearly still bothered by it.
Johnny kept looking at her. He felt very comfortable with Lola, probably because she was so privileged and had few worries. Except for matters of principle, being with her didn't come with extra burdens.
He thought of Frederick and Charlotte again, imagining that he and Lola could become a couple like them.
They stayed out until midnight before returning. Lola had thought, given the good atmosphere, he might want to make love with her, but he just pinned her to the bed and kissed her for a long time without really doing anything.
Lola couldn't help but open her eyes, her red lips slightly parted. Her voice was soft and raspy. "Johnny, what's wrong?"
Johnny kissed her nose repeatedly. "We'll do it when we get back to Syeattel."
Lola turned over and leaned against him, her slender fingers lightly scratching his nose. "I didn't expect you to be so picky about the place!"
He chuckled. "I didn't expect you to have such a strong desire!"
His voice suddenly lowered. "Do you think about it every night? Can't sleep without me doing it? Lola, tell me, is it very satisfying to make love with me?"
Lola turned over and lay flat, staring at the ceiling with a blank expression. "Johnny, I think we should just sleep!"
He was such a rogue!
But the man, clearly aroused, didn't want to let her go. He pulled her back into his arms, nibbling on her nose. "Tell me, and I'll let you sleep!"
Lola bit her lip, looking at him. "I said I wanted to, so why aren't you doing anything?"
Johnny was stunned. He wanted to brush it off, but it would hurt his pride as a man!
Lola didn't have the courage to beg either.
She rested her chin on his shoulder, thought for a moment, and then asked, "Have you been very tired these days?"
She had sensed that he wanted to but was suppressing himself.
She boldly confirmed it.
Johnny grunted, looking at her with deep, unreadable eyes. "Lola, do you know what you're doing?"
Of course, Lola knew. She just wanted to see him lose control. Besides, she really wanted him to hold her.
Her face flushed slightly as she leaned in to kiss his lips, then deepened the kiss. After being together for a long time, even a kiss could make them both feel hot and bothered. Especially Johnny, who cupped her face and kissed her over and over.
That kind of kissing made her heart race.
After a long time, he whispered, "Is this what you want?"
Lola couldn't say it out loud. She gently tugged his hair. "Alright, let's sleep!"
He chuckled softly. "If I don't make you feel good, what if you wake me up in the middle of the night?"
With that, he started kissing her down there.
Suddenly, Lola cried out. "Johnny, don't do that!"
His voice in the night was gentle yet firm. "I asked you earlier if you liked it, and you said yes! Lola, let me make you feel good, okay?"
