Chapter 889 Bruce, Can You Marry Me?
Bruce didn't push any further.
He rarely saw Sienna like this. In a low voice, he said, "I won't ask anymore. Please don't cry."
Sienna gently pushed him away, hugging herself tightly. Her voice was choked with emotion as she spoke, "Bruce, you got what you wanted. You made Jeremy back off!"
"Yeah, there's probably no hope for me and him now! But what about us? Have you ever thought about whether you came to me on a whim or if you actually considered a future together?"
"To you, I'm just something you want right now, something that pleases your eyes. To put it bluntly, I'm just a woman you got bored of and now suddenly want to play with again!"
"You don't have to be responsible for anyone, but I'm looking for someone to marry!"
"I want to ask you, Bruce, even if we get back together, can you marry me? Can you decide right now to marry me?"
Bruce couldn't decide, and he couldn't promise.
Sienna's eyes grew even wetter. She tilted her head slightly, her voice trembling, "Then why did you come here? Bruce, I'm not so desperate that I'd sleep with you once or twice! You were with Freya with marriage as a premise, but to you, I'm just a distraction?"
"Sienna, that's not what I meant!"
"Then what do you mean?"
Bruce calmed down, carefully considering his feelings and whether he could make a promise to Sienna.
He realized he couldn't.
After all, they had been together for two or three years without any urge to marry.
Now, after some time apart, he came to her driven by hormones, not by any deep thoughts about marriage.
Sienna didn't get angry with Bruce.
She knew long ago that Bruce didn't love her.
When she asked him to leave, her voice was weary, "Bruce, if you see me with someone else in the future, please just walk away. We're done!"
"I'll say it again, we're done! You might feel uncomfortable seeing me with another man, but I believe that someday I'll get married and have children. I'm asking you now, please let me go, okay?"
Bruce wanted to say, let him think about it.
But that would make him seem like a jerk.
Seeing Sienna's tears made his heart ache a bit. He asked softly, "Did I hurt you deeply?"
"No! Just don't show up again!"
Bruce looked deeply at Sienna for a long time before finally leaving.
As he walked out, he bumped into a delivery guy bringing two late-night snacks.
He remembered that Sienna loved this. Sometimes at night, she would secretly order it, then worry about gaining weight and only eat half, forcing him to eat the other half.
He never liked late-night snacks and never indulged her.
Jeremy was willing to indulge her, but Bruce had ruined that.
Bruce went downstairs and sat in his car.
He called Anna and told her to stop any further actions. He remembered that when Sienna cried, his heart ached.
Bruce didn't bother Sienna again.
But he didn't hear any news about her getting back together with Jeremy either. He wasn't sure if that was good or bad news, but he knew Sienna resented him.
In the following days, Bruce went on a few dates.
He spent time with beautiful socialites but never felt anything, stopping at just holding hands.
Bruce also saw Sienna on dates, and her partners were always good choices.
They both picked and chose, never considering each other again, and rarely heard news about each other.
Spring turned to fall.
More than half a year passed, and Marcella was worried. She thought Bruce might stay single forever!
Not only couldn't he find someone suitable, but Bruce also seemed to lose interest in relationships!
Bruce always said, "I can't find the right one! Besides, the company is busy!"
Marcella discussed with her husband Lonnie and decided to give Bruce a spot on the Taylor family's TV show, a dating reality show. Maybe he'd meet someone suitable there!
Little did they know, the show had spent a fortune to invite Sienna.
