Chapter 784 Lola, You Are Finally Mine Again!
Johnny gazed at her for a long time before softly asking, "Is it because of me?"
He continued, "Lola, is it because of that shooting star from back then?"
He had noticed, but he couldn't believe it. He couldn't believe that after everything he had done, their past was still the only thing in Lola's heart.
Lola neither confirmed nor denied it.
Johnny understood the answer. He cupped her face, gently leaned in, and pressed his forehead against hers. After a long while, he said hoarsely, "From now on, I won't mess with you. I'll take care of you. We don't need to change Stella's name; it's pretty nice."
Lola felt touched.
After all these years of ups and downs, they were still together. There were things she cared about, but when it came to choosing between two sides of the scale, she could only let one side go.
But she still whispered, "You have the nerve to say that. How did Stella come about?"
Johnny was silent, but mentioning this brought back memories of Silverpeak City and Sunset City, where he had given her those gummies. After Lola ate them, he certainly didn't want to bring that up.
Lola softly asked, "Where did you get those? They were pretty sweet."
Johnny blushed slightly and coughed to cover it up. "I forgot! Lola, let's forget about that. I was such a jerk back then."
She leaned back in her chair, giving him a sidelong glance. "You know that, huh?"
Johnny was about to say something when Lola reached out and gently touched his face, speaking softly, "I don't blame you anymore. Don't beat yourself up over it, okay?"
He held her hand, remaining silent for a long time.
After a while, Johnny broke the quiet atmosphere by gently holding her hand and saying, "Let's go somewhere. Remember to bring your driver's license. I need you to drive. The place is..."
Upon hearing the location, Lola fell silent.
In the bright, clean office hall, Johnny held her hand and softly said, "We agreed to get married, Lola. It's almost New Year's. Let's register our marriage first."
Lola didn't mind registering their marriage, but he seemed a bit too eager.
Just as she was about to speak,
Johnny pulled out a pair of plain platinum rings from his pocket. Holding her hand, he asked seriously, "Do I need to kneel?"
This was truly unexpected.
Lola glanced around. People were already giving them curious looks.
She looked back at Johnny and urged softly, "Hurry up and put it on."
He chuckled softly, "You're more eager than I am!"
Despite the joke, his hands trembled as he slipped the ring onto her finger. The process was so slow as if their past was replaying in his mind.
They had known each other since they were six, over thirty years now.
If nothing went wrong, they could spend another thirty years together.
After putting on the ring, Johnny's voice trembled as he said, "Lola, please take care of me for the rest of our lives."
Lola looked at the simple white band on her finger.
The design was very elegant.
"I designed it myself, Lola. Help me put mine on," he urged.
Lola took the man's ring, looked up at him, and finally, slowly slipped it onto his finger. As she pushed it to the last segment, Johnny leaned down and kissed her, saying hoarsely, "Lola, you're finally mine again."
Lola tugged at his hand, "From now on, you're part of the Hawkins family. You have to maintain your gentlemanly demeanor, got it?"
Johnny laughed, "Let's go register our marriage."
After registering their marriage, they drove to the cemetery to visit Darren.
The winter was harsh.
Everywhere was desolate, especially a place like the cemetery, devoid of life.
A small bunch of daisies added a touch of vitality.
Lola squatted down, dusted off the photo on the tombstone, and softly said, "It's almost New Year's, and it's a bit cold. In a while, spring will come, and this place will be filled with your favorite flowers. Birds will come and sing for you. I just don't know if you can hear them."
She still felt a bit sad.
Darren had left so young, without even starting a family.
She quietly kept him company, the bright sunlight making her wedding ring sparkle, matching Johnny's as he stood beside her.
Lola didn't say she got married, but Darren must have known. She had brought Johnny along.
While she talked to Darren, Johnny went back to the car to get some tools. He loosened the soil around the area and planted a maple tree, saying that when it grew tall and lush, Darren would have a home.
They stayed for a long time. By the time they returned to the hospital, it was already dusk.
Frederick asked where they had been.
"Dad, we got married."
Johnny smiled faintly, placing the documents in front of Frederick. Frederick, who had a lot to say, suddenly swallowed his words. He stared at the documents for a long time before finally squeezing out a sound, "You registered your marriage just like that?"
He then looked at their wedding rings.
Frederick still couldn't accept it. "Isn't this too plain? Johnny, is your company having cash flow problems? For such a big event like a wedding, there's not even a single diamond on the ring! If funds are tight, let Lola's mom prepare properly!"
Johnny quickly said, "Everything's ready! These wedding rings were designed and custom-made by me."
Frederick still wasn't reassured.
He said, "Leave the wedding to your mom. Grace has been quite free lately, and she has good taste. This is your last wedding."
If there was a next time, he wouldn't care anymore.
He'd kick them both out.
Around New Year's, the Hawkins Mansion was bustling.
Charlotte was busy preparing the wedding for the two kids. Not only did Grace come over, but even Chloe from Copenhagen came to help. They took care of everything, leaving Lola and Johnny with nothing to worry about.
The wedding dress was designed by Molly, who stayed up many nights working on it.
Gavin felt really sorry for her.
But Molly was determined to work hard. Late at night, she was still in the studio, personally sewing and attaching each pearl. Gavin, with a gentle look in his eyes, pulled her over for a kiss and said hoarsely, "You weren't this dedicated to our own wedding."
Molly blushed and smiled.
Gavin, looking at her slightly flushed face, couldn't help but gently caress her cheek. "We've been married for so many years, and you're the mother of two kids. How do you still blush so easily?"
It had been a while since he had made love to her.
He was in his prime, so he gently unbuttoned his coat, walked to the door, and locked it. When he pulled Molly onto his lap and kissed her, Molly, blushing and with her heart racing, leaned against his shoulder, "Just a little more to finish. Let me finish first..."
She was like a little kitten in his arms.
Gavin loved teasing her in bed, so he said something a bit naughty, "Let me finish first, then you can finish."
As he spoke, he started to fondle her chest.
The bright lights made her feel ashamed, and she pushed him, "No, Gavin... really, no!" But no meant yes.
He didn't even fully undress before making love to Molly, panting in her ear, "Mrs. Devereux, you've neglected me for too long! Look at what you've done to me."
Molly didn't dare look.
He teased her so much that she obediently clung to his waist, whimpering like a kitten.
Gavin let out a deep breath.
It really hurt!
He had intended to stop, but with her like this, he couldn't control himself... they did it three times.
By the time they were done, it was past 1 AM.
Even Molly was gentle, she had a bit of a temper and bit his shoulder until it bled. Gavin coaxed her gently, finally washing her clean and placing her on the couch, covering her with his coat. He then sat down and carefully sewed the tiny pearls.
He was a busy CEO, not one to enjoy such tasks.
But with his Molly by his side, and his body thoroughly satisfied, he found joy in the task.
At 4 AM, he finally finished it.
Surprisingly, it was done perfectly.
When they left, Molly was drowsy. Gavin carried her downstairs. She lay on his back and whispered, "If the company ever goes under, you can come work in my studio. With your skills, I can pay you $8,000 a month."
Gavin found it both funny and endearing, giving her a light smack on the butt.
Gavin teased her, "If it ever goes under, I'll just serve you in bed. That would be more useful."
Molly playfully punched him.
Gavin turned to ask her, "Wasn't it good just now? Who said it was too good, that she'd die if we did it again?"
Molly was annoyed and ignored him, sulking.
When the elevator reached the first floor, Gavin carried her to the parking lot. Light snowflakes drifted down from the night sky, but his heart was warmer than the snow.
Ten years had passed, and Molly was still the same girl.
When they returned to the villa, the sky was already lightening. Gavin, not wanting to wake anyone, quietly carried Molly upstairs. Molly fell asleep as soon as she hit the bed.
Gavin sat by the bed, smiling gently.
At 8 AM, he got up as usual, washed up, and changed into a suit before heading downstairs.
In the dining room, Chloe and Natalie were sitting.
Chloe looked at Gavin coming downstairs, glanced up at the ceiling, and sighed, "Gavin, you should be more restrained. Molly has always been fragile; She can't handle you being so rough."
Gavin pulled out a chair and sat down, very calmly saying, "I was helping her sew the wedding dress last night. It got a bit late."
Chloe gave him a knowing look.
She knew him too well. She had seen them come back last night. Molly was wrapped in his coat, carried on his back. She wasn't stupid, but she couldn't interfere too much. It was their marital business, after all.
She just had the kitchen prepare some nourishing soup for Molly.
After giving instructions, she turned to Gavin, "In a few days, I'll take your sister back to Copenhagen. Once you're done here, bring Molly back for New Year's. Don't bully her while I'm gone."
Gavin smiled and asked Natalie, "Is your company on break?"
Natalie replied, "Yes, business is slow. One of my comics might even get canceled."
Gavin took a sip of his black coffee, his tone casual, "Having financial issues? If you really like the job, I'll buy the company for you."
Natalie quickly said, "No need! Someone's already looking into it."
Gavin raised an eyebrow, "Who's the poor fool?"
Chloe lightly slapped his hand, "Stop picking on Natalie and Molly. You need to change that habit."
Gavin asked Natalie, "Have I ever picked on you?"
Natalie thought about her annual dividends, which were enough for her to live comfortably for ten lifetimes, and reluctantly said, "Gavin treats me the best."
Chloe found it both amusing and heartwarming.
Her children were harmonious, her daughter-in-law was obedient, and her grandchildren were adorable and beautiful. After decades of marriage, her husband still loved her. So, when she took Natalie shopping for wedding gifts for Lola, she had a smile on her face.
Natalie pointed to a pair of ornaments in a jewelry store, "These would make great wedding gifts."
Chloe looked over and couldn't help but feel pleased, "The craftsmanship is exquisite, and they look elegant. Let's look for a few more pieces to make a complete set. It's the most auspicious for a wedding."
Natalie linked arms with her and carefully selected.
The store clerk, recognizing their wealth, enthusiastically introduced, "These gold ornaments are crafted by masters. Many people buy them for collection."
Natalie smiled, "I'd like to see this one too. It would be perfect for a wedding."
Suddenly, a cold male voice came from behind, "Are you getting married?"
Natalie's body stiffened. She turned around, it was Grant.
