Chapter 427 Thank You for Giving Me Love
Chloe was totally floored, and even Adeline was scratching her head, trying to figure out how to explain why she was in Syeattel.
She really wanted Andrew to be with Chloe.
But after hearing what Andrew had to say, she couldn't stand the thought of Chloe being held back.
Andrew's condition needed to be monitored for three years.
Chloe called out to Adeline, and it brought tears to her eyes.
She hesitated, not sure what to say.
Just then, the nurse rolled out Charlotte and the baby.
Frederick was right there with them.
"It's a little princess!" the nurse said, grinning.
The Hawkins family crowded around, and Patrick was over the moon, saying, "A little girl is awesome; Lola will have a sister to hang with."
Lola came over to check out her new sister.
Laura had been in a funk lately, but seeing the cute baby melted her heart a bit.
She shot a look at her husband. "You can't play favorites."
Patrick was all about the baby, grinning like a fool. "So what if I do? She doesn't get it yet, and by the time she does, our Lola will be a big girl and can take little Sienna out to play."
Lola's eyes sparkled. She leaned against the bed and kissed her mom.
"I love my sister!" And she really did.
Johnny liked the baby too, but he just gave a small smile, keeping it cool.
The crew then moved to the VIP room.
Charlotte was bouncing back well after giving birth, and Frederick sat by her side with her head on his leg.
The Hawkins family knew the couple was tight.
They gave them space.
They gathered around the crib, staring at Sienna, totally smitten.
Charlotte leaned into her husband, her eyes soft.
Compared to the coldness when Lola and Kingsley were born, this kid was so lucky. She might think about the past and get a little sad, but this moment was what counted.
Frederick was super thoughtful.
He noticed her mood, touched her hair, and whispered, "Don't cry; it's not good for you!"
"I'm not crying!" Charlotte suddenly felt like being pampered. She hugged Frederick's leg on the sly.
Frederick looked down, his handsome face incredibly gentle.
Sienna's birth was the real deal for him and Charlotte.
Chloe was all mixed up inside.
Looking at the baby, she couldn't help but touch her own belly. In nine months, her kid would be here too.
No way to hide a baby bump.
By then, what would her and Andrew's deal be?
Would he want to take a kid from her?
Her mind was spinning.
Adeline watched her.
Adeline had been through it all, having had a son and a daughter. She could totally read Chloe's thoughts.
Chloe's look screamed she was pregnant.
Adeline had all sorts of feelings.
She was shocked they had done the paperwork and suddenly had a kid on the way, but also kinda proud her son had it in him. But Adeline was practical.
Even if Chloe was pregnant, she couldn't drag Andrew back.
Chole hadn't said anything, so she must've planned to raise the kid on her own.
Adeline had a game plan.
The top priority now was for Chloe to take care of herself and for Andrew to get better.
Adeline slipped out quietly.
Later, she sent over a ton of supplements.
Charlotte was already up and about.
She checked out the stuff and looked at Frederick, saying, "Adeline sent a bunch of things for pregnant women, but I just had a baby! And we're not having a fourth."
Frederick was busy changing little Sienna's diaper.
He smiled, expertly handling the diaper and then picking up the little girl to give her a kiss.
He looked up and saw Charlotte watching him. Her eyes were soft, full of love.
Frederick grinned.
The ambiance in the hospital room took on a suggestive quality. Charlotte found it funny that after all these years and three kids, he still had that passion.
She had just given birth and couldn't deal with it.
She blurted out, "Control yourself!"
Frederick chuckled, gently placing the baby in the crib, and said slowly, "Adeline noticed Chloe's pregnant, but with Andrew's situation, she didn't want Chloe to feel stuck, so she used you as an excuse to send supplements to Chloe! Just wait, when that baby comes, nothing will be missing."
Charlotte got it.
She admired Adeline's thoughtfulness.
At the same time, she worried about Andrew's health. Frederick said, "Don't stress! He won't be down for long. For the sake of the baby Chloe's carrying, he won't leave so easily."
Charlotte thought about it.
Yeah, something as big as a pregnancy, Adeline would definitely tell Andrew.
Plus, once the belly grew, it couldn't be hidden.
Frederick finished soothing the baby, walked over, bent down, and kissed Charlotte, saying softly, "Stop overthinking! You just gave birth two days ago. Take care of yourself; be good."
Charlotte smiled gently.
Frederick hadn't been close to her for days. Now that they were alone in the room, he couldn't help but kiss her.
He started with a light kiss, then deepened it.
After a while, he pulled back, his voice husky. "Charlotte, thank you!"
Without Charlotte and their kids, life would be so dull.
He thanked her for giving him love.
Charlotte was touched. She gently caressed his handsome face and couldn't help but call out "Frederick," just as Chloe walked in with some stuff and saw them.
She put the things down.
She couldn't help but tease, "Frederick, you're so bad!"
Frederick helped Charlotte lie down, then came over and pinched Chloe's cheek. "We're a married couple; it's only natural for us to be more intimate."
Chloe pouted. "Charlotte just gave birth!"
Frederick tugged her ear. "What did I do? Am I that bad in your eyes?"
Chloe's ears turned red from the tugging.
Charlotte couldn't help but defend her, "Stop bullying her!"
Frederick gave her a meaningful look, then casually said, "By the way, these supplements from Adeline aren't for postpartum use, but they're great for pregnant women. I'll help you load them into your car later so you can take them home."
Chloe looked at the pile of supplements, gently fiddling with them. "How am I supposed to finish all this?"
Frederick laughed. "It's Adeline's way of showing she cares!"
