Chapter 914 There Is Always Something Different Between Them!

Screams echoed around them.

No one expected Freya to end her life this way.

It was so sudden, and such a waste!

Bruce had broken up with her long ago and had even been threatened, but they had shared a relationship. He couldn't just turn away and coldly handle the PR crisis.

No amount of PR could fix this!

Bruce walked over slowly, the world seeming to freeze, leaving only Freya's bright red blood.

"Why did you do this?"

Bruce knelt beside Freya, gently lifting her head.

He knew she didn't have much time left. Freya looked at him, tears streaming down her face.

She knew she was ordinary compared to Sienna.

She had been taught from a young age to save money and marry a man with good prospects. Bruce was the best she had ever met, but she couldn't keep him.

Freya also knew he didn't believe she truly loved him.

No one else would believe it either.

Yes, she loved Bruce, including his looks and his family background.

But so what? Those were parts of Bruce too. Why couldn't she love him for those reasons?

In the end, she had to use this way to prove her love.

Freya couldn't speak.

She wanted to tell Bruce that those days were the happiest of her life.

She really believed in the Cinderella fairy tale, that the prince would give up the princess and fall for the common girl.

But it turned out, that was never going to happen.

Blood continued to flow, and Freya quietly looked at the only light in her life.

In the end, she gave Bruce a faint smile.

She thought, his peaceful life was still disrupted by her.

Freya's funeral and the company's matters piled up. Bruce stayed at the office for a week without going home.

During this time, he didn't call Sienna, and Sienna didn't call him either.

Bruce needed to calm down, and Sienna needed time to forgive.

The Stewart family came to see Lonnie and Marcella.

The Taylor family didn't meet with them because they weren't in-laws, and meeting them would be hard to explain to the Hawkins family.

In the end, Bruce talked to them and gave them $20 million to settle the matter.

The Stewart family took Freya's ashes away.

Time diluted the big news. When everything was finally settled, Bruce felt like it had been a lifetime.

When he called Sienna, her voice was calm. "Are you done?"

He nodded. "Yes, I'm done! Where are you? I'll come find you!"

Sienna didn't refuse. She said she was at home, cooking noodles and watching a movie.

Bruce grabbed his coat and car keys. "I'll come over!"

As he went downstairs, he ran into Lonnie.

Lonnie looked at him for a few seconds. "Going to see Sienna? Make sure to visit your mom soon. She hasn't slept well for days."

Bruce agreed. "I'll go tonight."

As he was about to get into the elevator, Lonnie called out to him again.

"Bruce, I hope you learn from this and don't make the same mistake again. If you marry Sienna, you need to take responsibility! This time, it was Freya who couldn't handle it, but if you hadn't crossed the line in the first place, none of this would have happened, and a life wouldn't have been lost."

Bruce knew all this. He felt terrible too.

He got into his car and drove to Sienna's place.

Just as she said, she was cooking noodles and watching a movie. She seemed unaffected, but Bruce knew things were different.

How could things be the same after such a big event?

But they hadn't broken up.

Sienna made noodles for Bruce, adding two large shrimp. But when she brought the bowl over, Bruce had already fallen asleep.

His phone and car keys were beside him.

The phone screen displayed a news article, showing his past chat records with Freya.

Sienna quietly looked at it for a while, then put the bowl down.

She didn't know if Bruce was reminiscing or what.
