Chapter 94 I Will Be Quick
Cherie grinned. "Miss Russell, you've got a sharp eye! The changes here are pretty impressive. No wonder Mr. Hawkins said you have great taste and skill."
She was a smooth talker. With just a few words, she completely eased Charlotte's annoyance with Frederick. Charlotte felt much more comfortable accepting the dresses.
She relaxed and let the stylist work her magic.
The party was somewhat private, so there was no need to be overly formal. The stylist picked out a dark cocktail dress for her, with thin straps, a fitted bodice, and a flared hem that showed off her fair, slender legs.
The stylist admired her. "Miss Russell, you have a fantastic figure and flawless skin." She took a closer look. Charlotte had a petite face, beautiful features, and golden hair.
The stylist suggested, "This dress would look even better with black hair. I can style it for you, and if you like it, you can come to my salon for a permanent change."
Charlotte gently stroked her naturally colored long hair. She was curious to try other colors.
The stylist worked quickly, straightening her hair, spraying it with temporary dye, and trimming it.
With her makeup done, the makeup artist whispered, "You look like a movie star, but your skin is even fairer and your legs are straighter."
Others chimed in, agreeing she looked like a star.
Charlotte was captivated by her reflection. Could she really look this good? Was this the power of money?
After sending everyone else away, Cherie, worried she might ruin her makeup, personally hung Charlotte's selected dresses in a separate wardrobe. She said, "In a couple of days, I'll pick out some jewelry to match the dresses."
Charlotte didn't refuse; she knew this was Cherie's job.
As Cherie left, she took one last deep look at Charlotte, silently thinking that Frederick being late to work recently might become a norm. With such beauty at home, who would want to get out of bed?
Frederick returned at seven in the evening. He planned to change clothes and then take Charlotte to the party, but when he saw her, he couldn't take his eyes off her.
"This dress is a great choice," he said hoarsely while gently unbuttoning his shirt.
Charlotte handed him a black shirt.
Tonight, he was wearing a black shirt with a light brown suit, a brown vest, and a dark brown tie. The tie clip was also exquisite, embedded with jewels.
Frederick didn't take it immediately; his dark eyes were tinged with a thin layer of desire, and his voice was even hoarser. "I'll change later."
Charlotte hadn't realized it yet, but her body was already in his arms.
Frederick hugged her from behind, his long fingers caressing her slender waist while he flirted with her. "You look stunning!"
Charlotte's body went limp from his touch. She raised her arms to wrap around his neck and softly murmured, "We're going to be late."
Frederick didn't let her go. He glanced at the time and then became even more relentless in entangling her body, his face buried in her neck as he teased her. "I will be quick."
With that, he turned her around and kissed her passionately.
The dark green cocktail dress fell to the floor, forming a beautiful circle, while Charlotte was held and thoroughly enjoyed herself in the walk-in closet.
When it was all over, Charlotte was so exhausted she almost didn't want to go out. Frederick, in a good mood, helped her tidy up her dress and then took out a diamond necklace from his pocket, gently fastening it around her delicate neck.
"Do you like it? I picked it out myself." He kissed her earlobe, looking at their reflection in the mirror.
Charlotte gently touched it.
She could tell the necklace was expensive and suited her well, but most importantly, it showed his thoughtfulness.
Any morning resentment vanished. She turned and hugged his neck, lightly kissing his chin. "It's beautiful. I love it."
Frederick chuckled softly. He whispered in her ear, "Are you no longer angry? If so, we can continue after the dinner party."
