Chapter 466 I Missed You, So I Came!

Andrew watched her quietly.

After a bit, he finally broke the silence, "Sorry. I shouldn't have said that."

Chloe could tell he meant it, and staying mad seemed pointless. Plus, she was feeling a bit feverish and uncomfortable.

She ate without saying a word.

Andrew kept his eyes on her for a while longer and then said softly, "I called home. Let's just stay here tonight."

Chloe looked up, "I'd rather go back."

Andrew touched her forehead, "You're still running a fever. It's better if we stay here."

"I don't want to stay here!" she snapped.

Andrew, being pretty perceptive, thought it over and got it. Earlier, he had joked with Nathan about some private stuff between him and Chloe. She was probably grossed out.

Andrew's gaze was intense.

Chloe's face felt warm. She pushed her bowl away, "I'm gonna watch some TV. You clean up and then take me home."

Andrew didn't argue.

While he cleaned up, Chloe lounged on the sofa, picked a romance movie, and opened a bag of snacks.

After washing the dishes, Andrew could've taken her home, but he didn't want to let go of the cozy vibe. Plus, he knew today's events had upset her, even if she didn't say it.

Andrew opened the cupboard, grabbed a bag of flour, and started making cookies.

Lately, he'd learned a few recipes, all made with pure milk for Natalie to munch on.

There were no molds here, but he was pretty good with his hands.

He made a bunch of animal shapes, mostly little strawberry-flavored rabbits. For the chocolate ones, he made little bears. Gavin loved them.

Half an hour later, Andrew pulled the cookies out of the oven and put them on a small plate.

He put the rest in two small jars.

When he walked into the living room, Chloe was glued to the movie.

Andrew sat next to her and placed the small plate on her lap. She naturally picked one up and ate it, drawn by the smell.

After eating two pieces, she looked down, "These are pretty good. Where'd you get them?"

Andrew gently put his arm around her shoulder, "I just baked them."

Chloe didn't ask any more questions; they were really tasty.

Andrew brought a dry towel from the bathroom to dry her hair. She felt tired and comfortably lay on his lap.

"Good girl," Andrew said, giving her a light kiss on the lips.

The cookies had a milky taste.

Chloe glanced at him and kept watching TV, "Let's go back after this movie."

Andrew nodded.

She kept munching on snacks, forgetting about her diet.

After eating, she felt sleepy and dozed off. When she woke up, the movie had ended.

Everything was quiet. She was still lying on Andrew's lap. He hadn't slept and was gently stroking her face.

Chloe blushed. She tried to sit up, but Andrew gently held her down, "It's almost two o'clock. Don't go back."

She suddenly felt weak, "Why didn't you wake me?"

Andrew didn't answer but just looked at her.

Chloe suddenly felt soft-hearted. She'd been super busy lately, and they hadn't seen much of each other, let alone spent time alone.

She knew that if she wanted to date, it wasn't impossible. She was just keeping her distance on purpose.

Andrew probably knew, but he never complained. When she wasn't in Syeattel, he took care of the kids, especially Natalie, who was super attached to him.

Chloe gently turned over, facing his stomach.

She lightly touched his Adam's apple and asked softly, "Andrew, am I treating you badly?"

She couldn't cook and wasn't very considerate.

During the years he was sick, she wasn't around. When he came back to pursue her, he was the one taking care of her.

Andrew didn't answer directly. He let her touch him and asked in a hoarse voice, "Feeling sorry for me?"

"A little." Her tone was softer than usual, "Andrew, should I treat you better?"

Andrew laughed. He pulled a blanket over her, wrapping her warmly, and asked, "Are you willing to get up early to make breakfast or clean up after me?"

Chloe thought for a moment and buried her face in his firm stomach.

Her voice was muffled, "Forget it, Andrew."

Andrew felt a softness in his heart. After a while, he gently tugged her hair, "Are you teething?"

His tone was very gentle, "You're such a big girl, just like Natalie."

Chloe rarely laughed so foolishly.

After a moment, she said softly, "The crew will start filming in a couple of days. But luckily, most of it will be shot in the city, and there are a lot of indoor scenes. Andrew, if we have time, let's take the kids out. There's a place with beautiful maple leaves."

Andrew chuckled, "If you want to date me, just say so."

"I don't! You're so old, if I go out with you, people will think we're father and daughter!"

Andrew said, "You always say what I don't want to hear, don't you?"

Chloe just laughed.

Andrew pulled her up and hugged her tightly. He reached out and pressed a button.

All the lights in the living room went out.

Chloe thought he wanted to do something and was about to refuse, as she wasn't feeling well.

But Andrew just leaned close to her ear and whispered, "Were you so upset today because of what happened before, and you felt embarrassed?"

Chloe angrily hit him.

Andrew, feeling a bit emotional, lightly bit the soft flesh behind her ear, "You're just feeling guilty! Originally, Nathan wouldn't have thought much, but you running away confirmed it!"

In the dimly lit room, she sat wrapped in a blanket in his arms, and it was impossible to say she felt nothing.

Chloe tilted her head to speak, but Andrew kissed her gently.

At the height of passion, she couldn't help but grab his hair and gasp, "Andrew, you bastard!"

She lay limp on the sofa.

Andrew came back and kissed her tender lips.

He whispered, "Did you feel it, Chloe? I want you to be comfortable. I don't want our relationship to be just about feelings without any passion that you should have at your age. That would be too unfair to you."

She gently turned over and thought, 'He clearly wants it himself!'

But no matter what, no woman would dislike this kind of service.

Especially from a man like Andrew, who was so humble and attentive.

After that night, their relationship was smooth.

Andrew didn't bring up the marriage certificate again. He took care of the two kids and would also go on dates with Chloe when he had time.

He took her to see the most beautiful maple leaves.

And in the midst of the neon lights, they spent the night together in a hotel.

He gave her all the passion a woman could want.

That day, the crew was filming in Nocturna City.

Chloe looked in the mirror and slapped her face, complaining, "I think I've gained weight!"

The assistant took a closer look and then laughed, "You're not gaining weight; you just look healthier!"

"Really?" Chloe doubted it and weighed herself, but her weight hadn't changed.

The assistant giggled, "See! I told you! I think it's because you've been in love recently. I see you and Andrew being all sweet, and the girls in the crew are so jealous!"

Chloe swatted her hand away. "I'm not in love with him!"

"You two are like an old married couple!" The assistant continued to giggle, genuinely happy for her.

After a while, the assistant whispered, "But you should still be cautious. Your relationship with Andrew is solid, but you can't stop others from being shameless!"

Chloe knew she was talking about Nina.

Since Nina was beaten by Wesley's wife, she seemed to have calmed down a bit.

Chloe didn't want to think too badly of people, but it was always good to be cautious. So she nodded.

Just then, Andrew called, and Chloe answered, looking at the assistant, "What's up? Calling at this hour."

Andrew's voice was low and hoarse, "I have a project in Nocturna City. I'll be there for three days on a business trip."

Chloe pretended to be indifferent, "But I have to shoot, no time to entertain you!"

Andrew laughed gently, "You've been away for a week. Don't you miss Natalie and Gavin? Gavin has a few days off, so I'll bring them along, okay?"

Chloe did miss the kids. She actually missed Andrew too, but a woman had to be reserved.

He was coming all this way, and she didn't want him to be disappointed, so she said softly, "I'm on my period."

The assistant blushed and ran out.

On the other end of the line, Andrew chuckled, "What are you thinking? Do you think I came just for that? I've been busy with several mergers lately. Even if you wanted to, I wouldn't have the energy!"

She bantered with him, "You're just getting old!"

"Chloe, let's give it a try!"

"Let's try then!"

After hanging up, she felt great. She checked the hotels in Nocturna City and booked a suite at a five-star hotel nearby. She also carefully wrote a list and sent it to the nanny at home, making sure not to forget anything since they were bringing the kids.

After finishing, she went out to shoot.

Eli was now quite afraid of her. When he saw her, he greeted her and joked, "You look radiant! Is your family coming to visit?"

Chloe smiled faintly.

Eli wanted to ask more but couldn't get anything out of her.

Meanwhile, Nina was clenching her hands, her expression almost twisted.

Lately, Andrew and Chloe's relationship had been particularly good. There was no need to investigate; just looking at Chloe's complexion, you could tell she was well taken care of.

Nina couldn't believe that at Andrew's age, he was still so strong.

He looked young, but wasn't it said that men over 40 weren't as capable? Why were they still so harmonious?

Nina was both jealous and longing.

She had left Wesley and, although she got involved with other men, she had always kept herself reserved.

She hadn't had a man in a long time.

At night, Nina would occasionally fantasize about Andrew being on top of her, loving her intensely. Just thinking about it made her body heat up.

Chloe had a scene with her. Nina had majored in acting, but Chloe wasn't afraid of her. Progress comes from comparing yourself with the strong, not finding someone weaker. That never leads to improvement. She seriously studied her lines.

After shooting a few takes, Chloe went to the trailer to rest.

She didn't expect Andrew to arrive that night with the two kids on a private jet.

Chloe sat in the family car, waiting at the airport.

About 10 minutes later, Andrew came out with the two kids. He was holding one in his arms and leading the other by the hand.

Two nannies, who were accustomed to taking care of Chloe, followed behind with the luggage.

Gavin was reserved, calling out to his mom when he saw her.

Natalie was much more enthusiastic, throwing herself into Chloe's arms and left a trail of drool on her cheek. Luckily, Chloe hadn't put on makeup after removing it.

Andrew, holding Gavin's hand, looked at her for a long time and said in a low voice, "You look good without makeup too."

Chloe's face heated up, afraid others would notice.

She quickly said, "The hotel is booked. Let's go. Do you want to eat out or at the hotel for dinner?"

Andrew looked at Gavin, "What do you think?"

It was Gavin's first time in Nocturna City.

Seattle was already in late autumn, but Nocturna City was still quite warm. Gavin had read that Nocturna City had a lot of delicious food, with streets full of it. He slowly said, "I'm not too tired yet."

Andrew laughed, "Such an indirect way of speaking; it's a mystery where you got it from."

Gavin pursed his lips reservedly.

At the car, Andrew lifted Gavin into the car, "We'll do as you say. Let's rest a bit and then go out for a walk."

Chloe was willing too. The four of them rarely went out together.

In the car, Andrew sat next to Chloe.

When no one was looking, he gave her a light kiss on the cheek and whispered, "I missed you, so I came."

She knew it well. But with the two kids and the nannies in the car, she didn't dare show it, only gently squeezing his hand.

Andrew held her hand back, not wanting to let go.

Natalie didn't understand, but Gavin did, his little face blushing but looking quite happy.

The car drove for an hour and arrived at the hotel.

Chloe, holding Natalie, said softly, "It's only a five-minute drive from the crew, which is very convenient."

Andrew squeezed her waist, not saying a word.

After checking in, the four of them entered the suite. Andrew hugged her from behind, "Stay with us. I'll take you to the crew every day."

Chloe blushed, "We'll see."

He had worked all day at the company and wanted to take a shower.

Chloe took the kids to unpack. Natalie pulled out her little flower pants.

Gavin did his tasks methodically, but as a mom, Chloe was always clumsy with housework. Andrew, after showering and changing, took the clothes from her and hung them neatly.

Chloe hadn't seen him for a week.

Now, seeing this handsome man fresh out of the shower, she couldn't help but feel something. She hugged him from behind and pouted, "Andrew, what would I do without you?"

Andrew laughed, "I'll try to live a few more years."

Andrew kicked the closet door shut, cupped her face, and kissed her deeply.
