Chapter 228 Have You Alept With Any Men Over the Past Few Years
Frederick was swamped.
Charlotte was fuming; her gut told her this dude was trying to hit on her.
To keep her distance, Charlotte bailed on the parent-teacher meeting. When she called Lola, Lola sounded super bummed. Even over the phone, Charlotte could picture her sad face.
Just thinking about it made Charlotte's heart hurt.
But she couldn't just blurt out, "Your dad's creeping on me!"
Charlotte hung up, feeling crappy, and then Andrew called.
Charlotte was pretty shocked. "Andrew, you're in Syeattel?"
Andrew hesitated for a sec. But after years of socializing, he quickly and casually said, "I came to visit Maria and found a top expert for her! What? You got a problem with me taking a rare break?"
Like Charlotte would dare to have an opinion.
Andrew switched gears, sounding more chill. "You're free tomorrow night, right? Come have dinner with me."
Charlotte, wanting to change her mood, agreed.
At 8 PM the next day, she showed up at that unique private restaurant as promised.
When she got there, she realized it was a setup.
Besides Andrew, there was a very elegant older woman, and sitting next to her was presumably her son, who was handsome, refined, and well-mannered.
When Andrew saw Charlotte coming, he wrapped up the convo and said with a smile, "This is my niece Charlotte!"
Charlotte couldn't just bail and embarrass Andrew.
She smiled lightly, greeted them, and sat down.
The older woman was an old colleague of Andrew's, super nice and gentle.
Andrew took the chance to introduce the young man.
He was twenty-eight, graduated from a fancy university in Novaria, and was into biological research.
The young guy was very attentive, clearly into Charlotte, which made her feel kinda pressured.
She looked at Andrew.
Andrew had a faint smile.
Actually, this date wasn't his idea; it was the old colleague's son who liked Charlotte and asked for it.
Andrew didn't say anything, so Charlotte had to tough it out and interact with the young man, but she didn't know that Frederick was also in this restaurant.
A big client had come to Syeattel, and he was treating them to dinner.
Just as they were getting to the key point, he saw Charlotte coming in for a date!
He recognized the other party.
May Collins, Andrew's old colleague, held a high position.
Derek Collins was the only son in the family, a year younger than Charlotte, and was looking at Charlotte with admiring eyes.
This kind of date just needed Charlotte's agreement.
Frederick was not calm; he stared at Charlotte's expression.
He wasn't unafraid; he and Charlotte had been apart for so long.
Frederick's gaze was dark and unclear.
After Charlotte went to the restroom, he decisively stood up. "Sorry, I need to use the restroom!"
Charlotte washed her hands slowly.
She didn't really want to go back to the dinner; the pressure was quite high.
Frederick appeared silently behind her, leaning lightly against the wall, quietly watching her.
She looked really good tonight.
She was in a white shirt and a beige knee-length skirt, showing off her slender, straight legs.
Over her upper body, she wore a beige cape.
Originally, Charlotte was already his type, and after three years, she attracted him even more.
Frederick looked her up and down carefully before lazily speaking, "Are you here for a date? How's it going?"
Charlotte was visibly startled. She didn't expect to run into Frederick here.
Their eyes locked in the mirror, both with some unspoken thoughts.
After a long pause, Charlotte turned off the faucet.
She said slowly, "Not bad! He's nice!"
Frederick lit a cigarette, taking a slow drag, and sneered. "He looks younger than you! What? You into younger guys now? Brian not your type anymore?"
He said it on purpose.
Charlotte softly shot back, "Does it have anything to do with you?"
Frederick took a deep drag on his cigarette.
Back in the day, his smoking had a certain allure for her, especially when his cheeks hollowed out. Now, with added maturity, he was even more of a magnet for women. Charlotte glanced at him again.
Frederick had a faint smile. "Sorry, I forgot we are divorced!"
Charlotte tried to walk past him.
But he grabbed her arm, gently pulling her and pressing her against the wall.
Her soft body was tightly pressed against his.
Almost instantly, Charlotte felt something off with his body. She was both embarrassed and angry. "Frederick, you said we are divorced. What are you doing now?"
Frederick trapped her, leaving her no escape.
He lowered his head, his forehead touching hers, his high nose lightly brushing against hers, somewhat sensually, making Charlotte's breathing quicken.
She turned her face. "Frederick, let go of me!"
But his gaze was intense. "Have you slept with any men these years?"
Charlotte's face turned crimson.
This was still a public place; he was simply shameless!
Seeing her expression, Frederick guessed it. He placed a hand on her slender waist, moving it up and down, and said something indecent, "Do you remember the last time we did it? I made you cry several times!"
Charlotte couldn't take it anymore! She slapped him. "Bastard!"
Frederick didn't mind being hit by her.
He touched his handsome cheek, with a faint smile and some mockery. "I told you, you only know how to lose your temper with me, Charlotte. You hitting me means you know very well that I will indulge you!"
Charlotte's face turned cold.
She knew he wanted to reconcile. Frederick was too smart; he knew that if he sent flowers and asked her out as usual, she would definitely ignore him, so he simply resorted to sexual harassment.
To put it bluntly, he was using himself to seduce her.
Women have desires too, and Frederick was the one who knew her body best and had been intimate with her countless times, but Charlotte didn't want to! She couldn't have a relationship with him again!
She said seriously, "Frederick, I'll say it again, it's impossible for us!"
After saying that, she took advantage of his momentary daze and pushed him away.
Frederick caught up, entangling with her.
Just as she was about to leave, Andrew's voice rang out. "What's going on here?"
The atmosphere was tense.
Andrew looked Frederick up and down, sneering inwardly.
Charlotte felt very uncomfortable, lowering her head. "Andrew, I'm going out first!"
Andrew smiled. "Hmm, just in time to say goodbye to May. Derek asked for your phone number earlier, and I gave it to him because he seemed sincere! Are you not happy? It's not bad for a girl to have more choices!"
Charlotte couldn't say anything.
In front of Frederick, she couldn't possibly say anything about refusing, or it would seem like she was refusing for him.
Andrew took Charlotte away.
After saying goodbye to May and Derek, Andrew asked Charlotte to get in his car, and he would take her back.
In the car, just as Charlotte was about to refuse, Andrew said, "Derek has seen you a few times and likes you a lot. He has good conditions, and as for the outcome, I respect your decision!"
