Chapter 498 Gavin Announced Their Relationship!
Andrew said it, and Chloe just shrugged it off. She even nodded, "Yeah, that's true!"
She leaned in and whispered to Andrew, "I think that kid's a bit scared of me!"
Maybe because so much time had passed, she didn't really care about those old events anymore.
Chloe headed upstairs to get a gift ready.
Andrew watched her go, his eyes soft with affection.
Nathan nudged him, "You still haven't told Chloe?"
Andrew lowered his voice, "Let's see what the kids think first!"
Half an hour later, Gavin showed up at the Green Mansion.
In the big villa, besides the servants, only Molly was there, reading in the living room.
The fireplace was blazing, and she had just washed her hair, sitting by the fire.
When Gavin arrived, the servants, who had a clue about their relationship, greeted him warmly, "Gavin, you're here!"
Molly looked up and saw Gavin.
He looked worn out, with a few snowflakes on his black wool coat.
She frowned slightly, thinking, 'What's he doing here?'
Gavin squatted down and gently smoothed her slightly damp hair, "Dry your hair and come have dinner with me."
Molly's heart started to race.
She looked at him, not moving for a while, and Gavin repeated, "Come on, be good!"
He told the servant to bring a hairdryer, acting like he owned the place.
The servant, thinking they were a good match, happily went upstairs.
Molly bit her lip, "I don't want to go! What would it mean if I went?"
Besides, Sarah had gone to Copenhegan and even visited the Devereux Mansion.
Sarah's bold and passionate pursuit of Gavin made Molly feel even more unworthy; she didn't have the courage to go to dinner with him.
The servant brought the hairdryer down. Gavin sat on the sofa and dried Molly's hair.
She wanted to escape, but he gently held her down, his voice soft and hoarse, "I just got back from Syeattel! I haven't slept for over 20 hours! Please, don't make a fuss, okay?"
Molly lowered her eyes, "Gavin, I told you we're done."
"I don't accept it!" Gavin said softly, "We like each other, why not be together?"
If it were easy to find a replacement, it wouldn't be love!
Gavin always knew what he wanted, and once he decided, he never regretted it.
He didn't say anything more, just silently finished drying her hair, then gently patted her back. "Go change your clothes!"
Molly wanted to say something. Just then, Gavin looked at her and slowly said, "Molly, do you really not want to be with me?"
Under the light, his eyes were bloodshot.
It seemed he was telling the truth; he hadn't slept for 20 hours.
Molly wanted to ask about Sarah, but she couldn't bring herself to, so she silently went upstairs.
While changing clothes, she questioned, 'Do I want to be with Gavin?'
She did! So could she be brave for Gavin just this once?
Molly looked at herself in the mirror, feeling like a stranger. She gently touched her face and thought, 'Is this person with joy in her eyes really me?'
When she came downstairs, Gavin looked up at her.
Molly was wearing a long dress with a white long down jacket over it, looking pure and beautiful.
She went downstairs and softly asked the servant to prepare a gift.
Gavin didn't stop her, just quietly waited.
After a moment, the servant handed over an air-shipped fruit basket, and Gavin reached out to take it.
At the Green Mansion, Gavin didn't hold back at all; he casually put his arm around Molly as they walked. She whispered that it wasn't appropriate, so he just held her hand instead.
Molly couldn't do much about him, so she stayed quiet. When they got to the car, she softly said, "I'll drive."
Gavin put the fruit basket in the trunk and closed it, smiling slightly. "Feeling sorry for me?"
Molly didn't respond; she just got into the driver's seat.
Gavin leaned on the car door and whispered, "I'm not that tired yet! Get out, I'll drive."
Molly refused.
Gavin looked at her for a long moment, then suddenly smiled, "You really look like my wife right now."
Molly's cheeks turned slightly red, "I'm worried about you; you shouldn't make fun of me."
She had such a gentle nature, even her reproach was soft-spoken, making Gavin find her adorable. He wanted to take her somewhere private and tease her to his heart's content!
Gavin sat in the passenger seat, watching Molly drive skillfully. He softly asked, "When did you learn? I've never seen you drive."
Molly pressed her lips together, "I learned when I was 18, but I don't really like driving."
Gavin nodded.
After a while, they reached a red light at the intersection, and he couldn't help but hold her hand.
Molly gently pulled her hand away, "I'm driving!"
Gavin directly pinched her chin and leaned in to kiss her. Molly didn't dare move. Their faces were extremely close, and he was teasing her playfully.
Gavin chuckled softly and suddenly kissed her deeply.
Molly, inexperienced, was no match for him, lightly tapping his shoulder in helplessness.
Gavin let her go.
Her lips were red and tempting, and he couldn't help but kiss her for a while.
At this time, people were having dinner.
There were no cars on the road, so he kissed her at the intersection for a full 10 minutes.
When it finally ended, Molly's face was red.
She trembled as she spoke, "You can't do that anymore!"
Gavin gently stroked her lips, his voice hoarse, "I haven't seen you for two or three days, I missed you."
Molly stepped on the gas, refusing to pay him any more attention.
He was incorrigible.
The car slowly drove into the Devereux Mansion, and Molly visibly tensed up.
Gavin turned to her, "Are you nervous seeing your in-laws?"
Molly braked, but still hit the stone pillar in front.
The expensive Rolls-Royce had a dent in the front, and the hood ornament fell off with a clatter.
Molly looked at it, "Who told you to talk nonsense."
Gavin wasn't angry; he leaned back in his seat and laughed.
The butler ran over, shining a flashlight, and shouted, "Gavin crashed the car! Come and take a look."
Everyone in the hall ran out.
Andrew and Chloe were at the front, and they immediately saw Molly in the driver's seat, with Gavin sitting comfortably beside her.
Andrew was about to scold Gavin.
Chloe opened the car door first, "Molly, are you okay?"
She then said to Gavin, "How could you let Molly drive?"
Gavin, thick-skinned, sat there and chuckled, "She drives very well! I just made a joke, and she couldn't take it, so she crashed."
Chloe was puzzled, "What did you say to her?"
Gavin pretended to speak.
Molly panicked, "You can't say it."
Gavin looked at her, still smiling, a bit lazily.
Chloe wasn't completely clueless. Gavin's behavior was so obvious; if she didn't sense anything, she might as well have been born yesterday.
The group entered the house, and Molly was visibly uncomfortable, while Gavin kept his distance.
He glanced at Natalie and lifted his chin.
Natalie, holding a tablet, ran over and grabbed Molly's arm, "Molly, could you help me get through this game level, please?"
Before Molly could say anything, Natalie dragged her away.
At a large round table, the two girls huddled together, heads close, chatting warmly.
Gavin's gaze lingered on Molly for a moment. Then he took off his coat and jumped into the business talk, while Chloe and Amanda talked about women's topics.
Hot dishes were served one after another.
The Devereux Mansion was bustling with activity.
Chloe suddenly took out a gift and handed it to Molly, "Molly, this is for you."
Molly was a bit surprised, and her eyes turned a little red.
Andrew also handed over a gift, smiling, "Stunned? Chloe gave you a gift, aren't you going to take it?"
Molly's lips trembled slightly.
Only she knew how uncomfortable she felt coming here. She wasn't sure if she was truly welcome. She thought Chloe might have sensed something, but now she was still willing to give her a gift.
She reached out to take it. A hand was quicker than hers and took it. It was Gavin.
He said naturally, "Molly doesn't have pockets, I'll hold it for her."
The air froze. This was almost like indirectly announcing their relationship.
Everyone looked at Chloe.
Gavin knew he was being a bit bad, waiting for Chloe to react. Of course, even if she didn't agree, he would still be with Molly.
Chloe's lips twitched slightly.
Of course, she wouldn't be indifferent! Her son was with the daughter of the person she hated the most.
Gavin wanted her approval.
Chloe felt a mix of emotions. Gavin had to live his own life. She couldn't stop them just because she didn't like it. Doing so would not only prevent Molly from joining the Devereux Family but also push Gavin away.
After a long while, she took off a bracelet from her wrist and handed it to Gavin, "Put this on Molly."
Gavin stared at Chloe, not saying a word for a long time. Chloe did the same.
Chloe loved Gavin, a feeling that others couldn't understand. She had once wandered with Gavin for two or three years because of her youthful impulsiveness, making Gavin suffer a lot. She always wanted to make up for it. Even though Molly was Celeste's daughter, Chloe was willing to welcome her into the fold for Gavin's sake. But facing it calmly would take time.
Gavin finally handed over the bracelet.
He was about to put it on Molly, holding her hand.
Molly felt like crying. She said softly, "Thank you." Chloe just smiled slightly.
Under the table, Andrew gently held Chloe's hand tightly.
They watched as Gavin put the bracelet on Molly. It was left by Adeline. If Adeline knew Gavin had found a girl he liked, she would be happy too.
Andrew asked the servant to bring some wine.
Chloe, worried, advised against it, but Andrew said, "It's fine, just a small glass."
The air was thick with tension. It wasn't until the wine arrived, and Nathan clinked glasses with Andrew, that the atmosphere livened up again.
The adults were busy drinking, while the younger ones couldn't sit still. Soon enough, Natalie dragged Molly outside to watch fireworks, even pestering the butler to bring out a bunch for them to set off themselves.
As the fireworks lit up the sky, someone put an arm around Molly's shoulder.
She turned her head and saw it was Gavin.
He had drunk a bit, his refined face tinged with a light red, looking particularly handsome.
Molly whispered, "Why didn't you wear a coat when you came out?"
Gavin smiled, "Not cold!"
He took out a cigarette from his pocket, lit it, and then went forward to light a row of fireworks, sparks flying everywhere.
Molly, being timid, stepped back.
Gavin pulled her into his arms, her small face peeking out, watching the fireworks with a bit of longing.
Natalie ran around them with a sparkler.
After a while, Gavin also pulled her over, holding both girls.
Natalie didn't get angry at all. She asked Molly for a gift.
Molly hadn't prepared one, so Gavin told her to take it from his pocket. Molly reached in, then looked up at him, and Gavin just smiled lightly.
He pressed down her hair and kissed her.
Molly's cheeks turned slightly red.
Natalie loved to play and couldn't stay still, soon running off to play elsewhere.
Gavin took Molly under a tree, kissing her many times until she was gasping for breath.
Molly was overwhelmed with joy.
But she noticed that Gavin was getting horny, so she didn't dare move much.
Gavin whispered in her ear, "Find a place?"
Molly thought it wasn't appropriate. It was her first official visit to his home; she couldn't casually have sex with him.
Gavin didn't insist. He saw her hesitation and didn't say anything, still holding her and kissing her.
Molly, being timid, made Gavin laugh softly.
Finally, holding her, he pretended to complain softly, "We haven't been intimate in a long time. I've almost forgotten what it feels like."
It seemed they hadn't made love for half a year!
He was a normal man, of course, he wanted to!
Molly buried her face in his chest, whispering, "Go back to Syeattel!"
Gavin whispered, "How about we move back to the apartment?"
Molly didn't respond; she felt it was too fast. Gavin kissed her again, whispering, "Then I'll move back first, and then pick you up on weekends."
This time she didn't object.
Gavin was determined to be the Green Group's son-in-law. Late at night, he drove Molly back.
Andrew sat for a while, then went upstairs.
Chloe had taken a bath and was sitting at the dressing table, a bit dazed.
Andrew went over and hugged her shoulders, not saying anything, just holding her.
Chloe said softly, "They've been together for a while, haven't they? Afraid I'd be angry, they broke up?"
Andrew didn't hide it from her and told her everything Gavin had done.
Chloe felt a mix of emotions after hearing it.
Andrew, afraid she would be upset, gently comforted her, "They were impulsive! Chloe, it's my fault."
Chloe leaned on his shoulder.
After a long time, she said softly, "Wasn't I impulsive when I was young? If I hadn't been, I wouldn't be with you. Andrew, if I blame them, it's like denying my past self, which wouldn't be fair to Gavin and Molly."
Her love with Andrew was real, and so was Gavin's with Molly. Besides, it was Gavin who had pursued Molly; there was no reason to make things difficult for her.
