Chapter 382 Charlotte, I'm back (Part 2)
Charlotte wrapped her arms around his neck, tears streaming down her face even in the heat of the moment.
"Frederick, is it really you? Do you remember everything, the good and the bad?"
Frederick felt a rush of emotions."Hey, don't cry," he said softly. "I'm back, and I remember it all."
In the midst of their passion, there was also pain.
Charlotte leaned on his shoulder, silently crying.
Frederick pulled a blanket over her, holding her close.
The night was quiet and still.
"Frederick, this feels like a dream, but it's been such a long and painful one," Charlotte said.
Frederick kissed her shoulder. "I won't leave you again, I promise."
What should have been a happy moment was tinged with sadness.
Maybe he knew she'd cry, so he chose Christmas Eve.
They were worn out from their intimacy, but neither wanted to sleep.
They only wanted to talk about happy things, not disappointments.
"Charlotte, remember the first Christmas when you started dating Nicholas?" Frederick asked softly. "I followed you two like a creep, watched your date, and saw him kiss your forehead under the fireworks. I was so jealous."
Charlotte remembered.
She touched his face gently. "Didn't we agree not to bring up those things?"
Frederick's gaze was intense.
He mimicked her, touching her face.
During their most loving times, he had forgotten Charlotte, his wife.
How did she endure those days?
"Charlotte, thank you for not giving up on me," Frederick said, his voice full of emotion.
Charlotte traced circles on his chest with her fingers. "I was just getting by! It's not like I didn't think about giving up!"
She added, "You were such a jerk!"
Frederick was provoked.
He pressed her beneath him, careful of the child.
Charlotte didn't resist.
She wrapped her arms around his neck, her eyes bright. "Frederick, even if I was just getting by, I wouldn't want to get by with anyone else."
He was moved.
His nose brushed against hers, teasingly.
He wanted to flirt, his lips lightly touching hers, his voice hoarse. "Charlotte, even when I lost my memory, I took good care of your needs in every way, so you couldn't leave me, right?"
Charlotte felt shy.
When it came to shamelessness, she couldn't compete with him.
But she didn't want to escape; it was her husband saying these things, and she felt it deeply.
Her face was full of passion and emotion.
Frederick deepened the kiss, talking to her while kissing. "Charlotte, do you like it when I hold you?"
Charlotte couldn't take it; she nestled against his neck, her voice tinged with tears. "Stop talking!"
Frederick pressed his face against hers.
His face was slightly red, a bit hot, and he looked somewhat lustful.
Charlotte couldn't help but kiss him.
'Frederick, I don't know how much I like you, but from the past to now, no matter how bad you are, I can't give you up because I can't bear to! Even if I'm disappointed, a glimmer of hope can grow from my bones! Maybe this is a love that cuts to the bone,' she thought.
Charlotte woke up to the smell of roses in the early morning.
She turned her head and saw a fresh white rose on the pillow, with a stunning diamond bracelet hanging from its stem.
No woman could resist jewelry, especially when it was from a man she loved, delivered in such a romantic way after a passionate night.
Charlotte was no different.
She tried to put the bracelet on but struggled with the clasp.
Standing at the door was Frederick.
He was already dressed in a light gray shirt and matching dark gray trousers, his tie perfectly in place.
He looked sharp.
"Why didn't you let me help you dress?" Charlotte asked softly.
Frederick walked over, bent down, and pinched her nose. "Times have changed. I don't dare boss you around anymore!"
He fastened the bracelet for her.
It sparkled beautifully.
"Why wouldn't you dare? You dared last night!" Charlotte teased.
Frederick's eyes lit up.
He leaned close to her ear and whispered, "What's the point if only I put in the effort?"
Charlotte blushed.
She didn't want to continue this conversation, so she raised her wrist. "Is this my Christmas gift?"
Frederick kissed her. "It's your overnight fee."
Charlotte was both shy and angry, throwing the rose at him, but he caught her hand.
"Alright, stop messing around. We've got things to do later! After breakfast, come up the mountain with me."
Charlotte played with the diamond bracelet.
She thought for a moment and asked, "Are we going to see the astrologer?"
Frederick nodded.
He gently embraced her, speaking with deep emotion, "You and the baby are safe, so we need to give thanks."
Charlotte seemed thoughtful.
After a moment, she softly said, "Frederick, I want to bury something."
Maybe afraid he'd be upset, she gently circled his waist, pleading softly, "Don't be mad. I'm just grateful! Frederick, no one in this world compares to you. I'm grateful to him because it was his gift that allowed me to stay by your side."
Frederick knew what she wanted to bury.
It was the necklace Ethan had given her.
As a man, he certainly cared because Ethan would always have a place in Charlotte's heart, but rationally, Charlotte had done nothing wrong.
It was that necklace that saved her life.
The Cooper family even harmed Gabriel.
Frederick whispered, "Alright, we'll go home and get it later."
Charlotte wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him. "Mr. Hawkins, you're becoming more magnanimous!"
He held her waist, pressing his forehead against hers. "Charlotte, I'm not magnanimous! I just want you to be at peace! At the same time, I want to tell you that it's not just Ethan and Gabriel who are willing to risk everything for you; I am too. You are priceless to me, and I would give anything for you."
Charlotte softly hummed.
She never doubted his love.
After breakfast, they went back to the villa to get the item before heading up the mountain.
Frederick's car only drove halfway up the mountain before they got out.
Charlotte was pregnant. So he walked with her slowly. When they reached the top, Charlotte realized it wasn't just them; the entire Hawkins family was there, even some extended relatives.
A large crowd, about a hundred people.
Charlotte turned to quietly look at Frederick.
