Chapter 525 Johnny, We're Done!

Johnny's voice was super soft over the phone. "I'm at the office!"

He didn't bother mentioning he was in a meeting.

Lola cut straight to the point. "I'm coming over!"

Johnny's throat tightened, and he replied in a raspy voice, "Okay! Call me when you get here, and I'll come down to get you."

He hung up.

Everyone in the meeting room was staring at him. Johnny gave a slight smile. "Girlfriend!"

They all knew he was talking about Lola. She was the only one who could keep Johnny in line!

Johnny pushed the meeting back by two hours. He went back to his office, tidied up his desk, and asked his secretary to bring Lola's favorite drink. Once everything was set, Johnny headed downstairs to wait for her.

Lola's car was already parked outside.

Johnny opened the door for her and asked softly, "What's up?"

Lola's eyes were a bit red.

He reached out and gently touched her. "Have you been crying? This doesn't seem like our top lawyer! Did Gavin mess with you?"

Lola shook her head. "He wouldn't dare!"

Johnny's voice got even softer. "Then did I do something wrong?"

Lola shook her head again.

Finally, Johnny decided to take her up to his office. He used the private elevator, but they were still spotted. His subordinates saw Johnny holding hands with a tall, long-haired girl who was stunning.

That girl was the famous Lola from Seattle, known for her sharpness, but right now, she was very docile next to Johnny.

Everyone was shocked.

Johnny was quite the catch!

Ignoring the stares, Johnny brought Lola to his office, locked the door, and pulled down the blinds to keep out prying eyes.

Then, he lifted Lola onto his desk and gently kissed her.

"Now can you tell me what's going on?"

Lola swung her long legs.

She found it hard to speak, so Johnny stepped closer and gently pressed her legs.

He looked at her deeply and spoke for her, "Lola, do you want to be with me?"

Lola's lips trembled.

After a while, she reached out and gently held his shoulder, looking up at him. She still didn't want to admit it.

Johnny didn't push her to talk. Instead, he lowered his head and gently kissed her lips.

In the quiet, empty office, only their soft breaths could be heard, making the moment feel perfect.

Johnny held her back, pulling her closer.

They were so close, their hearts were practically beating in sync, racing!

His lips moved to her ear. "Lola, you're mine now!"

Not in a casual way, but in a way that meant they were in it for the long haul, loyal to each other.

Lola's eyes were moist.

She longed for Johnny, but when she gave herself to him, she felt overwhelmed.

But Johnny seemed to have endless patience. He kept kissing her, breaking down all her defenses and reluctance. In the end, she willingly opened up to him and kissed him back.

The coffee had long gone cold.

They kept kissing, changing angles, sharing each other's warmth, not wanting to part.

Outside the door, Johnny's secretary knocked. "Mr. Flores, it's time for the meeting. Should we delay it further?"

"Yes!"

As soon as Johnny finished speaking, Lola covered his lips. She said softly, "You go to the meeting! I'll wait here for you, and we'll go home together after work."

Johnny insisted on going to his place.

Lola agreed with a hum.

Johnny took a step back and adjusted his shirt and tie, trying to look all proper.

Then he chuckled. "How can I go out looking like this?"

Lola laughed, leaning on his shoulder.

She hugged his waist and teased. "How about Mr. Flores takes a trip to the restroom and fixes it yourself?"

Johnny held back, lightly nibbling her nose. "All for you!"

With that, he walked out of the office. Lola made a face at his back, just like when they were kids. When the door closed, she swung her legs and picked up two photo frames on his desk.

One was a photo of the two of them, the one from her study.

When did he sneak a copy?

The other was a photo of him with Travis and his wife.

Travis's wife, Melissa, was also a kindergarten classmate of Lola's. From the photo, Lola could still see Melissa's childhood features, and she had grown up to be even more beautiful.

Lola felt a bit jealous about her boyfriend having photos with others, even if they were married!

She turned the frame face down.

She knew she was possessive. Johnny did what he could, but if he couldn't, they would have to part ways.

Lola's good mood took a hit.

She sat on the sofa, bored, playing games until six o'clock when Johnny finished his meeting and came back. She remained motionless on the sofa.

Johnny immediately noticed the photo frame turned down.

He picked it up and looked at it, then smiled faintly. "If you don't like it, I'll put it away."

Lola said nonchalantly, "Are you two close?"

Johnny still smiled faintly. "When we first went abroad, we took care of each other for a while."

Lola looked up. "What kind of care?"

The atmosphere became a bit tense.

Johnny walked to the water dispenser and got Lola a glass of water. Then he leaned against the sofa. "Of course, it was just daily care. We were young then, and we looked out for each other."

There was nothing wrong with what he said, so Lola didn't ask further.

She slowly drank half a glass of water and smiled faintly. "Let's go home!"

On the way back, Johnny stopped to buy some groceries while driving Lola's car.

Back in the car, Lola looked at him. "On a day like this, you're not planning to go out for a date but cook at home?"

Johnny fastened his seatbelt and smiled sideways. "Isn't staying at home nice?"

Lola couldn't help but tease him. "You don't seem like someone who's had a few girlfriends!"

Johnny leaned over and kissed her, his voice hoarse. "Not all of them were real girlfriends! Some were just close female classmates who wanted to visit Syeattel."

Lola didn't want to pursue the truth of his words.

She snorted lightly. "You really deserved a beating back then!"

Johnny glanced at her. "Do you like playing this game? Then tonight, I'll play along with you?"

Lola called him shameless.

She really couldn't tell that he had these interests! He usually seemed so proper.

Johnny smiled faintly as he drove, chatting along the way, and soon they arrived at his apartment.

Lola didn't know how to cook.

Johnny handled everything alone in the kitchen, while Lola lay in the large home theater room, listening to music and flipping through magazines. Johnny had good taste; it was a nice place.

But soon she got restless and ran to the kitchen to cause trouble.

She hugged him from behind and said softly, "Johnny, I want some orange juice!"

He pointed to the blender. "Make it yourself."

"I don't know how!" Lola whined, pressing against his back. "Make it for me!"

Johnny sighed, feeling helpless but secretly enjoying it. He put down his cooking and started making juice for Lola. She kept hugging his waist, which he actually liked a lot.

When it was ready, he brought it to her lips. "Try it."

Lola drank half a glass and then urged him, "Hurry up and cook!"

Lola still clung to him, making it impossible for Johnny to continue. He put everything down, washed his hands, and slipped them under her clothes, teasing her.

"Does it feel good?" he asked, panting lightly in her ear.

Lola bit gently behind his ear. "You're so rough!"

Johnny chuckled. Although she complained, he knew she liked it.

Having known each other since they were young, now that they were officially together, even the slightest touch ignited their passion. They couldn't resist each other right there in the kitchen. The very air around them was filled with sweet, breathless sighs.

Lola held Johnny tightly, unable to resist kissing him. Johnny was equally aroused, and just as things were heating up, the doorbell rang. Lola, slightly distracted, said, "Someone's here!"

Johnny seemed not to hear it. Lola couldn't focus. She gently tugged his hair. "Is it a delivery? Go check, and we can continue later!"

Johnny had to pause.

His eyes were filled with unquenchable desire. He straightened his clothes and walked out, while Lola also tidied her dress.

To their surprise, it was Melissa, not a delivery.

Johnny welcomed her in and cleared his throat. "Lola, we have a guest!"

He was reminding Lola to fix her clothes to avoid any embarrassment.

Hearing this, both Lola and Melissa were surprised.

Someone was at his place?

Lola walked out of the kitchen, and upon seeing Melissa, she was even more shocked.

In her memory, Melissa was beautiful and smart, but now she was in a wheelchair, though still dressed elegantly, indicating she was doing well.

The atmosphere was a bit tense.

Lola was the first to speak, "Long time no see!"

Melissa forced a smile. "Yes, long time no see! Lola, you're still as beautiful as ever, still the center of attention."

Why did that sound a bit harsh?

Lola smiled. "Melissa, you've become quite the joker! How about staying for dinner? Johnny's cooking is excellent."

Melissa looked at Lola's face.

Suddenly, she understood. She had interrupted something; Johnny and Lola had been intimate.

Melissa's face turned sour.

She pushed her wheelchair. "No, I'm just here to deliver some documents for Travis. The housekeeper has already made dinner, and the driver is waiting downstairs."

She suddenly said to Johnny, "Can you take me downstairs?"

Johnny lit a cigarette. "Sure! I'll take you down."

Lola smiled faintly. "Go ahead and take her down."

After Johnny left, Lola's smile vanished. She walked to the floor-to-ceiling window and stood there quietly. After a while, she saw Melissa and Johnny downstairs.

Melissa didn't get into the car immediately.

She and Johnny were face to face, seemingly arguing about something.

Lola lowered her eyes and smiled faintly.

In the room, there was still Johnny's leftover cigarette. With trembling fingers, she picked it up, placed it on her lips, and lit it, taking a long drag.

The smoke burned her lungs, causing some pain.

Lola smoked the entire cigarette with trembling fingers. When Johnny returned, she had just stubbed it out in the ashtray.

The door closed softly.

Johnny smelled the cigarette smoke and looked up to see Lola standing there.

"Lola!"

"Did you have a thing with her?" Lola asked softly, "Was it the first or the last? Can you tell me?"

Johnny's Adam's apple bobbed. "The first! When I was 20!"

Lola lowered her head and laughed softly.

"Your first love, right? Johnny, you left me in Kyro to be with Melissa. Now she's married, and you still keep a photo of her on your desk! And you tell me you want to spend your life with me! You're too much!"

Johnny's fingers clenched. He couldn't refute her. Because it was true.

At that time, he desperately wanted to break free from the Hawkins Family and sought freedom. Melissa's gentleness captivated him.

Lola slowly turned around, her face expressionless.

She looked at him and said, "Johnny, the reason I forgave you and accepted you was because I thought you were just playing around with those people. I never thought you were serious about another woman. You weren't just playing with Melissa, were you? You were thinking of her as a potential wife, right? But later, you found her unsuitable, unable to satisfy your peculiar interests, so you broke up with her!"

At this point, Lola felt incredibly disgusted.

She had always thought that what Johnny gave her was different from what he gave others.

But it turned out he had already given those things to someone else.

And she had thought they were each other's only.

Lola didn't cry. For someone like him, it wasn't worth it.

She picked up her coat from the back of the sofa and walked straight to the door. Johnny blocked her. "Lola, let's talk!"

"There's nothing to talk about!" Lola said calmly. "Johnny, our values are different. We can't be together!"

He refused to let her go and hugged her. "Those are all things of the past!"

Lola slapped him. "Things of the past? A married woman finds an excuse to come to your place at night, and you say your relationship is normal? At least she hasn't given up on you. I bet Travis isn't in Syeattlel right now, or she wouldn't dare come to you. You two are doing this behind Travis's back. Johnny, is it that you don't know how to refuse, or does Melissa have no shame?"

She was slapped in the face by Johnny. But Lola was very calm. Defending a man's first love was instinctual!

Johnny was stunned.

He never thought he would hit Lola, let alone slap her.

He looked at his hand, unable to react for a long time, just staring blankly. "Lola, don't go!"

Lola raised her head slightly.

Her eyes were moist.

She found it laughable that on the same day, she cried for a man out of excitement. And on the same day, she realized the love she fantasized about was just her own fairy tale. "Johnny, we're done!"

Lola pushed him away, walked to the door, and put on her shoes. At this moment, Johnny came to his senses. He ran over and pushed Lola against the wall, perhaps too forcefully, causing Lola's head to hit the wall hard.

Lola felt a lot of pain, and her head was dizzy.
