Chapter 837 Grant, You Are More of a Bastard Than I Thought!

Natalie was in shock for a while.

Molly kept going, "She's in the hospital! It's a total disaster, and the wedding's off! I just don't know if Nancy can handle all this."

Worried that Natalie might overthink, Molly added, "Let's see how Grant deals with it."

Natalie forced a smile.

She didn't say anything, and Clayton, standing nearby, wasn't about to chime in either. It wasn't his place.

Because of Grant's situation, the hospital room was dead silent. Everyone was on edge, but no one wanted to talk about it.

By noon, the news had already hit the internet.

Jade might never walk again and would need a wheelchair for life. Her mom was heartbroken and tried to jump off the Granatal Nexus Technologies Group building but was stopped just in time.

Seeing the news, Natalie couldn't help but sigh.

During lunch, Clayton was about to leave. He suddenly asked her in a low voice, "You worried about him?"

Natalie was taken aback for a moment before she got what he meant.

She kept sipping her soup, her voice steady, "Clayton, I don't have those feelings anymore. And even if I did, I wouldn't need to tell you. We're nothing to each other now."

Clayton chuckled instead of getting mad.

He looked at her calm face and smiled lightly, agreeing, "Yeah, we're nothing to each other now, and I have no right to ask about your business."

His words seemed fine, but there was a hint of something more!

Natalie stayed quiet.

After Clayton left, Molly, sitting across from her, sipped her soup and said softly, "Clayton seems so humble now!"

Natalie lowered her eyes, "He doesn't have a choice."

Molly nodded seriously, "He deserves to suffer a bit!"

In the VIP hospital room, the girl named Jade had received the best medical care, but her legs couldn't be saved. Although Jade came from a small town, she was smart and tough.

Granatal Nexus Technologies Group immediately held an internal meeting to handle the crisis.

After discussions, the best PR move was for Nancy to step forward, stating she would stand by Grant through this ordeal and publicly declare that Grant and Jade's relationship ended before the wedding—they had broken up long ago.

This PR strategy was best for the company's interests.

But for Nancy, it was the cruelest.

Newly married and pregnant, she had to clean up Grant's mess after his infidelity! It was tragic for any woman.

Grant returned home from the company.

The car stopped in the villa's driveway. It was already evening, and the house's warm orange lights looked inviting. A servant came over to open the car door for him.

The servant spoke softly, "Mrs. McCall hasn't come downstairs all day."

Grant's Adam's apple bobbed slightly, "Got it."

He got out of the car and walked straight to the villa's entrance. The living room was quiet, and this silence extended to the second floor.

Grant went upstairs and pushed open the master bedroom door.

The room was dark.

But the floor-to-ceiling curtains were all open, letting in the twilight's soft purple glow, making the room gently lit.

Nancy sat in this soft light.

She leaned against the sofa, looking outside, lost in thought.

"Nancy!"

His voice was hoarse as he walked over and sat beside her on the sofa, reaching out to touch her shoulder but then thinking better of it and pulling back.

Nancy turned her head, quietly watching him.

After a while, she asked softly, "How is she?"

Grant relaxed a bit, leaning back on the soft sofa, rubbing his temples with frustration, "She'll need a wheelchair for life. Her mother is still causing a scene at the hospital, Nancy..."

"You want me to handle the PR for you, right?"

Nancy's voice was light but carried a hint of mockery, "Grant, this is your mess! Yes, you signed that twisted agreement with her before we got married, but if you had dealt with it before our wedding, there wouldn't be any problem! You didn't, and it wasn't until I discovered her existence that you thought of sending her abroad."

"But Grant, you can afford a plane ticket... One day, when you find our marriage boring, and you're on a business trip, you'll remember that sweet, obedient girl waiting for you. You'll visit her and maybe even bring her back. Am I right?"

"Nancy!"

Grant's voice had a sharp edge to it. He hadn't thought that far ahead.

Nancy gave a faint smile.

"Grant, why should I handle your PR? Just because we're married? Did I marry you to clean up your mess?"

She paused, then continued, "I think you deserve this, and she's not innocent either."

They used to have some level of respect for each other.

But since the hospital incident, they had lost patience, even finding each other repulsive. If it weren't for the baby, the wedding would indeed have been called off.

The couple remained silent for a long time.

Grant stood up, seemingly ready to leave.

Nancy spoke up, "I'll handle it, but I have conditions."

Grant stopped.

Nancy didn't look at him, still gazing outside, speaking softly, "Grant, I want you to promise that no matter how many illegitimate children you have in the future, or how many women you have children with, the child I'm carrying will be the sole heir of Granatal Nexus Technologies Group, holding at least 51% of the shares."

Grant frowned slightly, "Don't you think that's a bit much?"

Nancy smiled faintly, "If you think it's too much, I won't push it."

She stood up, ready to go downstairs for dinner.

Grant grabbed her hand.

Nancy tried to pull away but couldn't. She turned to look at him.

Grant used a bit of force, pulling her closer, into his arms... He pressed her body against his, his hand gently caressing her face, his voice incredibly soft, "Nancy, you're not the same as before."

Nancy looked up, her beautiful face carrying a cold smile.

"Grant, you're also a much bigger jerk than I ever imagined!"

"Do you still like me?"

Grant asked as he touched her body. It was normal for them to be intimate on their wedding night.

Nancy was unwilling.

Besides being pregnant, she was disgusted by his relationship with Jade. Just thinking about their interactions made her sick.

But if Grant was determined to make love, Nancy couldn't refuse, fearing it might harm the baby.

So, half-heartedly, they did it on the sofa by the floor-to-ceiling window. Grant was careful not to press on her belly, holding her on top of him.

Forcing her to accept him... sweat dripping like rain.

Under Grant's caresses, Nancy couldn't control herself, biting his shoulder hard... deep enough to draw blood.

She called out his name in distress, "Grant, Grant..." as if she wanted to etch his name into her very bones.

She made those excessive demands to make him hate her because she didn't want his affection anymore. Grant's love was so dirty, it wasn't worth her liking.

After the act, Grant held her, panting.

Outside, the servant hesitated for a long time before knocking again.

"Mr. McCall, Mrs. McCall, is it time for dinner?"

Grant calmed down, his voice low, "We'll be down in half an hour."

Footsteps could be heard retreating, indicating the servant had gone downstairs.

Grant looked down at the woman in his arms. After venting, his temper had improved a lot.

He said softly, "Of course, our child will inherit Granatal Nexus Technologies Group. You didn't need to ask."

Nancy's body was sweaty.

She lay on his shoulder, her voice dull, "Who knows what the future holds! It's not easy for a woman to have a child. I have to secure something for my baby."

Grant's passionate thoughts faded a bit.

He held her waist, wanting to take her to the bathroom to clean up, but when he touched her waist, he couldn't help but whisper in her ear, "Two months pregnant, and your waist is still so slim, it's not noticeable at all!"

As he spoke, he felt a renewed desire.

Nancy found it pathetic.

She pitied herself and the girl named Jade because, to Grant, nothing mattered except business interests.

Men are all the same!

In his youth, he had genuine feelings, but they were all for Natalie.

Natalie was his first love.

And those who looked like her were just playthings to Grant!

And she, Nancy, wasn't even a plaything!
