Chapter 882 Sienna's Blind Date, Bruce Cares!
The atmosphere was tense.
Bruce finally calmed down. He cared too much about Sienna!
He chalked it up to the fact that they had broken up less than a month ago, and he hadn't yet adjusted to the change in their relationship.
He thought that with time, he would get used to it.
Get used to being apart from her, get used to coming home to an empty apartment, get used to having other women around, and most importantly, get used to the idea that Sienna would soon belong to another man.
Bruce let go completely.
He regained his composure and softly apologized to Sienna, "I really shouldn't have pried into your personal affairs."
With Bruce and Freya there, Sienna had no appetite. She got up and left with the young man.
After they left, Freya casually remarked while ordering meat, "Bruce, they actually look quite good together. Miss Hawkins takes good care of herself; you can hardly tell there's much of an age difference. They look like they're only a few years apart!"
Bruce sat at the low table, already in a bad mood. Freya's comment made him feel even worse, and he lost his appetite for barbecue.
He pulled out a pack of cigarettes from his pocket, shook one out, and lit it.
He watched as Sienna got into a car.
It was a black SUV, not cheap.
Freya leaned over to take a look and said, "Did Miss Hawkins buy that? It looks pretty expensive!"
That's when Bruce remembered who the young man was. He was the youngest son of the Cook family, just graduated from school. How did he end up with Sienna?
He flicked the ash off his cigarette and said indifferently, "He's the youngest son of the Cook family. Driving that car is actually quite low-key for him."
Freya was a bit confused.
Then she started to worry. Another wealthy family, and she wasn't from one... Would Bruce care about her background?
Bruce saw her expression and guessed her thoughts. He said calmly, "The Taylor family doesn't need to marry for alliances."
Freya's mood brightened again.
Bruce looked at her smiling face, feeling a mix of emotions. He couldn't say if he was happy or unhappy; it was just different from what he had expected.
Although he thought that at his age, he shouldn't be overly excited about relationships, there should still be some passion.
But with Freya, it was calm and uneventful.
Every time he planned a date with her, it was just for the sake of dating, not because he was eager to see her.
He remembered when he first started dating Sienna. He wanted to see her every day, spend every night at her apartment... Sienna was very romantic, and they did a lot of crazy things together.
Those memories were still beautiful to him.
Maybe it was because Freya was too good? Or maybe her appearance didn't excite him or arouse him?
Bruce quickly found the reason. He thought he shouldn't compare Freya to Sienna.
He barely ate any of the barbecue.
Freya ate quite a bit and then packed the leftovers to take home for a late-night snack.
Bruce thought, 'Wasn't what we just ate a late-night snack?'
After getting in the car, Freya tried to hint that she wanted to spend the night at his place, to take their relationship further.
But Bruce pretended not to understand. He had decided to have a platonic relationship with Freya, respecting each other and not having sex before marriage.
Freya was a bit disappointed when she got out of the car.
She couldn't help but turn to Bruce and say, "We've been dating for a while, Bruce. I feel like there's something wrong between us."
Bruce lightly stroked the steering wheel and asked calmly, "What's wrong?"
Freya bit her lip, blushing slightly as she asked, "Isn't it said that men in their thirties have a high sex drive? Why don't you have any thoughts about me? You gave up so easily last time! Bruce, do you think my body isn't good enough?"
Bruce, being a mature man, knew how to handle a young girl's insecurities.
He unbuckled his seatbelt and leaned in to kiss her.
But just before their lips touched, he pulled back, looking into her eyes with a low laugh, "You smell like barbecue. Let's skip the kiss for now."
Freya had closed her eyes.
Now, she was both shy and angry. She opened the car door and said, "Bruce, you're so bad!"
'Bruce, you're so bad.'
He stared at the open car door, lost in thought.
Freya's words reminded him of the first time he made love to Sienna. She had a cold, and he was at her apartment, coaxing her to take medicine. One thing led to another, and he ended up undressing her.
Back then, Sienna was trapped beneath him.
She held onto his neck, whispering softly, "Bruce, you're so bad!"
His heart ached.
He realized he had really liked Sienna, had been deeply infatuated with her. He wondered if she would hold someone else like that in the future, telling them they were bad.
Was she spending the night with someone else tonight?
Bruce had dated several girlfriends before. He didn't think he was the kind of conservative person who would be bothered by this.
When men and women break up, they naturally find others to make them happy, and having sex is just part of that.
For example, if Sienna hadn't shown up last time, he and Freya would have already slept together.
He tried to convince himself that this was a normal process, but he couldn't help but mind.
He minded Sienna being with someone else.
Bruce sat in the car, smoking four or five cigarettes. He finally figured it out. If he couldn't give Sienna marriage, he shouldn't keep thinking about her or stop her from finding new happiness.
Thinking this way, he felt much better.
A week later, it was Raymond Taylor, the grandfather of the Taylor family's, birthday.
Bruce wanted to bring Freya along. With so many people at the party, Raymond wouldn't embarrass her... Of course, Freya couldn't be introduced as his fiancée, just a friend.
In the past, when he attended parties with Sienna, he didn't have to worry. Sienna would always dress to impress.
But Freya was different.
Freya needed a complete makeover, from her demeanor to her taste. As Anna put it, she needed to be reborn; otherwise, she wouldn't be able to catch Raymond's eye.
The most upscale salon was downstairs from a vintage café.
As Bruce took Freya upstairs, he unexpectedly saw Sienna... She was dressed formally in a black velvet gown, wearing a set of pearl jewelry. The skin exposed at her collarbone and chest was more dazzling than the pearls.
She was sitting with her parents, across from the Cook family.
The person Sienna was on a date with was Jeremy Cook, the second son of the Cook family, a well-known financial expert in the country, and very handsome.
Just by looking at them, it was clear their parents were very satisfied.
Sienna was beautiful, and she had a good relationship with the Cook siblings. Naturally, Jeremy was very fond of her, his demeanor and actions showing his intention to pursue her.
Jeremy's mother, Gloria Cook, covered her mouth and smiled. She was finally relieved because Jeremy had found a girl he admired.
She was happy to see it happen!
Bruce had been staring for too long and was noticed. Frederick called out naturally, "Bruce, out with your girlfriend?"
