Chapter 210 Charlotte's Uncle

Frederick patted her head. "So, do you still want to be with Ethan?"

Chloe's face went pale, and she shook her head. She was done with him!

Ethan had a mistress, and they weren't even married yet. She was over it.

Frederick stayed silent.

He just held Chloe, like when they were kids.

After a bit, he said, "Come over to my place sometime. I'll have Charlotte make you some fried chicken. Isn't that your favorite?"

Chloe pulled away, looking at him like he was crazy.

After a long pause, she sniffled and said, "Dad is really mad! I don't think he'll agree to your relationship anymore. Plus, hasn't Charlotte still not forgiven you or agreed to marry you? Frederick, are we both going to be single?"

In the Hawkins residence study, Patrick was fuming!

The two kids he liked, Ethan and Charlotte, had been together for four years!

When Frederick walked in, Patrick threw a cup at him.

Frederick didn't dodge, and the cup hit his forehead, making him bleed.

Laura was really upset.

Patrick sneered, "Look at you, he's just bleeding a bit and you're already heartbroken. He knows you're soft on him, that's why he acts this way!"

Frederick played dumb. "Dad, what does Ethan having a mistress have to do with me?"

Patrick was livid.

He pointed and yelled, "You're still pretending! You're good at fooling people in court, but you want to fool me at home too? Ethan's mistress told me everything."

Frederick stayed quiet. He sat on the sofa and used a tissue to stop the bleeding.

Patrick glared at him. "No more arguing now? Frederick, you're something else. You knew about their relationship and didn't say a word, keeping the girl to yourself. Are you planning to break up when you get tired of her, so no one would know? What's your plan now?"

Frederick calmly said, "Chloe wants to break up with Ethan."

He smirked. "Dad, just tell me how to bring down the Cooper Group to make you feel better, and I'll do it! I'll handle what you can't."

Patrick was furious! Frederick really knew how to dodge the main issue!

He glared at Laura and said, "Look at the son you raised!"

Laura was also mad. "It's clearly your genes. Why blame me?"

Patrick rubbed his nose, but his tone softened. "Call Charlotte over. I need to ask her about this."

"She's in Bostan, working on a big project. Dad, you need to change your thinking! Besides, Charlotte was just a girl when she was with me. I was her first, not Ethan."

Patrick was truly enraged.

He lit a cigarette and slowly smoked. "So, I should praise you for being quick? Are you proud of yourself? Frederick, this is called being shameless. Let me tell you, I don't agree!"

Frederick didn't care. Whether his dad agreed or not was secondary; the key was that Charlotte wasn't talking to him now.

Frederick said modestly, "Dad, isn't it too early to say this? The key is that she doesn't want to. She's ignoring me. My status is really low right now!"

Patrick felt a bit relieved and glanced at him. "Useless!"

Frederick noticed his dad wasn't as angry and was about to keep talking when the butler rushed in, looking worried. "Mr. and Mrs. Hawkins, there's a Mr. Devereux from Copenhagan here to see Mr. Frederick Hawkins!"

'A Mr. Devereux from Copenhagan?'

Patrick, a seasoned businessman, sensed trouble.

He hurried to the window, pulled back the curtain, and saw several black sedans parked outside. They weren't flashy, but all were Audi A8s, typically used by important people.

Patrick guessed who it was.

Andrew Devereux, head of the Devereux family from Copenhagan.

Andrew was in politics and held a high position. The rest of the Devereux family was in business or the arts, but they all followed Andrew. He made all the big decisions.

Andrew was famous for one thing: he had never married. He spent his life searching for his twin sister.

Patrick stared outside and said softly, "This Devereux guy seems nice, but he's ruthless. Who knows how many people he's taken down? Frederick, how did you get mixed up with him?"

Frederick had some ideas but just smiled. "Maybe the Devereux family needs a son-in-law!"

Patrick was furious. He stubbed out his cigarette and said harshly, "Come with me to meet him!"

A bit later, Patrick and Frederick walked downstairs together.

In the grand hall, a tall figure stood with his hands behind his back, looking at a painting. Though his face wasn't visible, his posture exuded elegance and charm.

Hearing footsteps, the man turned around, a faint smile on his lips. Though over 40, he looked exceptionally well-maintained, appearing around 35 or 36.

Patrick was shocked. Everyone knew that the friendlier Andrew seemed, the more trouble he was about to cause!

But Patrick was also shrewd. He didn't show his surprise and warmly approached to shake hands. "Mr. Devereux, do you like that painting?"

Andrew still smiled. "Mr. Hawkins, how could I dare take something you cherish?"

Patrick mumbled a few words and had the servant pour some water.

Frederick, usually so proud, took the tray from the servant and personally poured a cup for Andrew, respectfully saying, "Mr. Devereux, please have a taste!"

Patrick was shocked.

Andrew knew what was going on. He didn't drink the water but instead took an old, yellowed photo from his suit pocket and gently placed it on the coffee table, smiling slightly. "I'm here today to ask Frederick about someone."

Frederick picked up the photo. The girl in the photo was fresh and playful, looking a lot like Charlotte.

Andrew finally picked up the cup, but just as his lips touched it, he paused. "Frederick, does she look familiar? This is my long-lost sister. She has passed away, but she had a daughter named Charlotte."

After speaking, Andrew put down the cup. His gentle eyes shifted between Patrick and Frederick, his tone light and polite. "I've been looking for her for a long time. I heard she has a close relationship with you, so I came to ask."
