Chapter 419 I Still Want to Be Your Husband (Part 1)

Andrew's cig snapped in half.

But she just couldn't spit out those words to make up.

He knew he messed up big time.

Andrew just stared at her. He didn't say yes or no, but breaking up? Nah, he wasn't down for that.

Chloe gave a faint smile, her voice soft, no hard feelings. "Andrew, it's not about right or wrong with us. We've both given up a lot for each other! Maybe we're just not meant to be!"

She swore she wouldn't cry. But she still got choked up!

Andrew raised his hand, wanting to touch her face, but Chloe dodged it.

She kept her cool. "Mr. Devereux, this isn't right!"

Andrew's hand just hung there.

He felt kinda crappy, and after a bit, he finally dropped it. He asked, "What about Gavin? You want him growing up with just one parent?"

He shouldn't have brought up Gavin.

Mentioning Gavin made Chloe's eyes tear up as she snapped back, "Gavin's almost five. How many days have you actually spent with him? Andrew, when Celeste's kid showed up, how many times did I tell you to stay out of it, but you still did! You chose to be the good guy. Why should I pay the price for your choice and endure this pain?"

A few years of her youth weren't enough?

Having Gavin for him wasn't enough?

How much longer did he want her to wait?

Next time something happened, when someone else needed him, would she and Gavin still be the ones he ditched first, always coming second?

Chloe gently closed her eyes. "Andrew, you always say you love me, but I don't want this kind of love anymore, okay?"

Andrew's eyes rarely got red.

He whispered, "Chloe, I can't live without you!"

Chloe gave a dazed smile.

She said, "What's the point of saying this now?"

When a woman became generous, it meant she no longer cared about him.

Chloe even said softly, "I heard you took that kid to Syeattel! Take good care of her; she's got no other family and is pretty pitiful."

Andrew's face looked grim.

He shot back, "What about you? What about Gavin?"

Chloe didn't answer directly. She checked the time and said, "I only have two hours for lunch! Take me back to the set!"

Andrew wasn't done talking.

He didn't want her to leave.

But he was a grown man, and Chloe had work; he couldn't hold her up. Otherwise, she'd probably hate him even more.

As they left, Chloe walked ahead, and Andrew trailed behind.

Her hand gripped the door handle.

Andrew couldn't help but gently hug her from behind, holding her close but not too tight.

Chloe was startled.

She instinctively wanted to struggle, but the strength difference was clear.

Andrew held her firmly and said, "Chloe, forgive me, okay? I've put that kid in the villa and won't visit her much! Let's set a date and get married again. Adeline hasn't talked to me for days! She misses you a lot!"

As he said this, Chloe felt sad. She missed Adeline too.

She spoke softly, "We can't be husband and wife, but we have a kid. I'll take Gavin to visit her! Andrew, let go. I'm gonna be late."

Andrew was rarely impulsive.

His lips were close to her ear, his voice hoarse. "I still wanna be your husband!"

As he said this,

His eyes were moist.

Chloe was the girl he had begged for, but he had easily let her go.

"Don't you want your Andrew anymore?"

"I'm not qualified!" Chloe's voice was very low. "Andrew, I don't hate you! Really!"

After saying that, she yanked herself free from him.

Andrew stood by the door, looking kinda lost.

In the hallway, Chloe walked a few steps and then tilted her head back a bit to keep it together.

She spoke with conviction. But it wasn't that easy to act that way, was it?

No matter how tough it got, she had to keep moving forward.

Nathan probably heard the noise and came out from the next room. Seeing Chloe in tears, he immediately felt bad for her, stepped up, handed her a tissue, and gently said, "Had a fight with your Andrew? Couples fight, but they make up quick! My wife and I are the same."

Chloe took the tissue and wiped her tears.

She forced a smile. "He and I aren't a couple."

Nathan was about to say more when Andrew walked over, looking at Chloe's red eyes.

Finally, he said, "I'll take you back to the set."

Back in the car, it was even quieter than before. Chloe kept staring out the window.

When they got to the set, the car stopped.

"I'll go now."

Chloe turned her head slightly and said softly, "Think about when it's good to sign the papers."

Andrew didn't even consider it.

He didn't want a divorce; he didn't want to be apart from her.

Chloe didn't get an answer, and she didn't push it. She opened the car door to get out.

Her arm was held down.

She slowly turned back and saw Andrew's hand holding hers.

She felt it was pointless and softly said she was leaving, then gently pried his fingers off one by one and got out of the car.

Andrew didn't follow her. He watched her walk away.

The weather was nice, Chloe was wearing a white shirt and a fishtail skirt, looking slender yet mature.

But when she was usually by his side, she was so sweet and innocent, especially in bed.

Andrew only felt his eyes sting!

For several days in a row, Andrew kept showing up.

Chloe didn't have meals with him again, nor did she talk to him. She gave him the cold shoulder.

Andrew watched her talking to others.

It was that young actor, who had no background, no connections, just a young face.

But Chloe seemed to enjoy talking to him.

Only when she looked at him did her expression freeze, but she quickly resumed chatting with others, as if he didn't exist.

Andrew felt uncomfortable seeing this.

Nathan gently reminded him, "I think if you keep waiting, it won't help."

Andrew knew him well. Not only was he good at work, but he also had many ideas.

He pretended not to care and patted his pants, asking, "So what do you think I should do?"

Nathan had a mysterious look.

He said, "Who do you think Chloe cares about the most right now?"

Someone like Andrew didn't need him to spell it out.

He immediately knew. It was Gavin.

Andrew took another look at Chloe; she had already gone to film, and the place where she had been standing was empty.

He straightened his shirt and told the driver to go back to the office.

Chloe finished work and went to pick up Gavin from school.

But when she got to the kindergarten, the teacher said Gavin had been picked up by his dad.

Chloe got back in the car.

She called Andrew, and he answered quickly.

"You picked up Gavin?"

"Yeah! I missed my son." Andrew admitted it without hesitation, his tone very gentle. "I'm at the villa, made some food, all the stuff you and Gavin like; come over and eat with us!"

Chloe wanted to speak but choked up.

She held back her emotions and said softly, "Andrew, we're separated! Separated! What do you think you're doing?"
