Chapter 841 Natalie, I Want to Start Over with You

Natalie had just given birth.

She was exhausted, lying on the pristine white pillow, her whole body soft and weak.

She looked up at Clayton, her voice barely a whisper, "Clayton, don't wait for me. If you find someone else, you should go for it. I'm not being dramatic... it's just that we're not young anymore, and we can't afford to waste time."

Maybe it was the brush with life and death that made her see love differently.

She couldn't bring herself to hate Clayton.

But a broken heart can't be mended overnight, so she didn't want him to wait for her.

Waiting for someone is too painful!

Clayton leaned against the headboard, very close to her. Natalie felt uncomfortable and tried to move back a little, but he wouldn't let her. He held the back of her head, pulling her closer to him.

Their foreheads touched, and his prominent nose pressed against hers.

Their breaths mingled.

Clayton's voice trembled slightly as he spoke, "Natalie, I can wait!"

One year, two years... ten years, even a lifetime, he would wait.

It wasn't about redemption; Natalie and the kids were his happiness. He regretted it deeply, but regret was useless. Only making amends mattered.

Natalie looked at him.

She knew all the things Clayton hadn't said, and it made her even sadder.

If it was true, how could he have been so heartless back then?

Tears fell one by one... She didn't want to cry, but maybe becoming a mother again had made her more emotional.

"Don't cry! Natalie, don't cry!"

Clayton kissed away her tears, afraid she would push him away, so he didn't go any further.

This might be Natalie's most vulnerable moment, and her voice trembled slightly as she said, "Clayton... how did we end up like this?"

What she wanted to say was, 'Why were you so cruel to me, why didn't you believe me back then?'

But she was too embarrassed to say it out loud!

The marriage was long over, and if it weren't for the child, they would have no connection at all.

He kept making her cry!

Clayton felt sad too. He knew how wronged she felt. He didn't know what had come over him back then...

He had seen Natalie hugging Grant, and jealousy had clouded his mind, planting seeds of doubt that took root. He owed Natalie an apology.

He gently stroked her long hair, telling her not to cry.

He whispered, "I won't go on blind dates, and I won't see other women! Natalie, if you find someone suitable, you can go ahead. When you go on dates, I'll take care of the kids."

He was such a jerk!

Natalie couldn't help it and lightly slapped him.

It wasn't hard, just a gentle slap!

Clayton's eyes darkened. He caught her hand as she tried to pull away, placing it back on his face. His voice was soft and low, "If it makes you feel better, hit me again."

Natalie tried to pull her hand back, but he wouldn't let her, and she didn't have the strength.

He was being a rogue.

Natalie turned her face away, refusing to look at him.

Clayton stared at her profile, his heart aching... It had been so long since they had been close.

After the car accident, she hadn't avoided him, and she let him be close to Haven, but there was always a distance between them.

Even during prenatal checkups, he would only dare to hold her arm, never her waist, for fear of provoking her displeasure.

Now, in the hospital room, it was just them and their child.

Clayton couldn't help himself.

He leaned in and kissed her forehead, then, while she was still in a daze, kissed her lips.

Natalie resisted, "Clayton!"

She turned her face away, not wanting him to kiss her, but Clayton held her chin with one hand, forcing her to look at him. Then he leaned in and kissed her again.

It wasn't a deep kiss, just a light touch.

She kept resisting, trembling slightly.

But Clayton was completely captivated... He even slipped his hand under the sheet, holding her post-pregnancy body. The sensation made his body tense to the extreme.

It wasn't about desire, just a physiological reaction.

Clayton hadn't been with a woman for over six months. The psychological burden had made even self-relief rare... Now, just touching her caused a reaction.

Their legs pressed together, and Natalie could feel it. She tilted her head back and called him a beast.

Clayton didn't dare do anything more, and he wouldn't... He just held her body and softly asked, "Are you planning to breastfeed Chance?"

Natalie gritted her teeth and huffed, "Get off me!"

He wasn't actually on top of her, but the thing pressing against her leg, even through the thin blanket, was noticeable...

Clayton saw she was really getting angry, kissed her cheek, and let go of her.

Just then, Chance started crying.

Chance was strong, kicking off the blanket as he cried loudly.

Clayton quickly went to soothe him.

He checked, and Chance wasn't wet, so he must be hungry.

He held Chance, gently soothing him, but Chance kept crying, his little mouth wide open.

Clayton looked at Chance.

His features were well-defined, likely inheriting some mixed-race genes, and his limbs were long. He would definitely grow up tall.

Clayton looked at Natalie, about to speak.

Natalie softly said, "Bring Chance to me."

Clayton's voice was even softer, "You want to feed him yourself?"

Natalie had regained some strength. She propped herself up and asked, "Do you plan to feed him?"

Clayton didn't say anything at first.

He handed Chance over. Natalie didn't avoid him. She gently opened her shirt on one side...

Clayton carefully placed the baby in her arms. Chance, sensing Natalie's scent, eagerly latched on and started sucking.

The visual and auditory stimuli overwhelmed Clayton, and almost involuntarily, he murmured, "I don't have any! If I did, I'd only feed you."

Natalie focused on feeding Chance.

She took a moment, her voice calm, "Clayton, stop being a jerk."

Clayton chuckled softly, then sat on the edge of the bed. He let Natalie lean on his shoulder, making her more comfortable.

At first, Natalie resisted, but he insisted.

While she fed the baby, he gently massaged her shoulders to make her more comfortable.

Chance finished one side and was full!

Newborns eat and sleep, sleep and eat, with no interaction with adults... Clayton put him back in his crib and watched him for a long time, never getting enough.

This was his and Natalie's son.

He looked a lot like Haven, but Haven was more delicate, while Chance had more defined features. They would both be good-looking when they grew up.

With a son and a daughter, Clayton felt very content.

He got up and saw Natalie trying to get out of bed. He quickly went to help her, "Why are you getting up? Do you need to use the bathroom? I'll carry you!"

Natalie didn't refuse, letting him carry her to the bathroom.

As he closed the door, her expression was complicated.

Clayton softly said, "I'll be right outside. Call me when you're done!"

But after about ten minutes, Natalie still wasn't done. Clayton got worried, fearing she wasn't feeling well... He knocked twice, got no response, and opened the door.

Inside, Clayton was stunned.

In the bathroom, Natalie was facing the mirror, her shirt open, bending over.

She was trying to express the milk from the other side that Chance hadn't finished, feeling uncomfortable with the fullness.

When she had Haven, she had little milk and didn't need to express.

So this time, Natalie was inexperienced.

Not only inexperienced, but it also hurt... She frowned slightly, struggling to express the milk, occasionally letting out a soft moan, which made Clayton's body react.

He quietly closed the door.

Not completely, because Chance was outside...

Then he walked towards Natalie, gently hugging her from behind, his lips close to her ear, his voice hoarse, "Let me help you!"

Natalie was startled.

She hadn't expected Clayton to come in and see her in such an embarrassing position. She tried to push him away, but a woman was no match for a man when he was determined.

Clayton held her with one hand and helped her with the other.

Natalie found it painful to do it herself, but Clayton seemed to know exactly what to do. It didn't hurt, and it relieved the fullness...

Embarrassed, she turned her face away, but eventually couldn't help biting his arm muscle lightly.

In the past six months, Clayton had regained his strength.

He had rebuilt his muscles.

Normally, it wasn't noticeable when he was clothed, but once he took off his shirt, his well-defined muscles were quite sexy. And now, with Natalie biting him lightly, he couldn't help but look down at her.

Their position was truly compromising.

When Clayton finished, he gentlemanly adjusted her shirt. He softly said, "Next time you're uncomfortable, tell me. I'll help you."

As soon as he finished, he got a slap on the face.

Natalie said seriously, "Clayton, we should keep our distance!"

He talked about her finding a boyfriend while holding her and being a jerk. Natalie thought he was a real bastard!

Clayton didn't get angry at being slapped. Instead, he gently touched his face,

Then he said something even more shameless, "When we were making babies, you didn't say we should keep our distance!"

Natalie felt a bit dazed.

She and Clayton had truly made love after their reunion. Those nights of passion were as intense as the pain she felt when reality hit her later.

Thinking about it, her heart grew a bit colder.

She didn't argue, nor did she compromise. After lying back on the bed, she didn't speak to him again.

Clayton tried to tease her a few times, but it didn't work.

He knew she was upset, or maybe thinking about the past made her sad... Even though she said she didn't hate him anymore, he thought she still blamed him.

That night, it wasn't just her who couldn't let go; he couldn't either.

In the evening, Natalie fell asleep.

Clayton stayed by her side, watching over her and their child... Reflecting on the past, thinking about how to win her heart back.

He could tell Natalie still had feelings for him.

But she couldn't forgive not just him, but herself too.

She couldn't forgive herself for falling in love with him again... Clayton felt sorry for her, and his guilt deepened.

He leaned down, gently touching her face, his voice hoarse and low, "Natalie, what will it take for you to be willing to start over with me?"
