Chapter 338 Frederick Was Especially Considerate (Part 2)

Down in the lobby, the servants were busy tidying up. Laura, Chloe, and Gavin had already bounced. Andrew felt a pang of disappointment. He hustled outside and spotted them, calling out softly, "Chloe."

Under the night sky, Laura was already in the car with Gavin on her lap.

Chloe was about to hop in when Andrew stepped up, holding the car door. He gently patted Gavin's little head and said, "Listen to your mom, buddy."

Gavin nodded like a good kid.

He had the Devereux look, but his sweet nature was all Chloe.

Andrew exchanged a few words with Laura.

Laura then turned to Chloe, "You should talk to him."

She was cool with it because Patrick had given her the lowdown, and she kinda got where Chloe was coming from, so she decided to stay out of it.

Andrew practically dragged Chloe into the car.

He drove. After a bit, Chloe couldn't help but throw some shade, "Mr. Devereux, why are you still chasing me? Isn't your career your number one? Aren't you ready to sell your soul for it?"

Even though she knew he didn't love Celeste.

But she was still pissed.

He had said he admired Celeste's independence.

Andrew just gave a faint smile. "Are you mad?"

Chloe clammed up, leaning back in her seat, watching the streetlights blur by.

She didn't want any ties with him, but they had a kid together.

When the car finally stopped, her eyes stung a bit. Looking out, she realized he had brought her to the riverside. She asked softly, "Andrew, what do you really want?"

Andrew turned to look at her.

He looked at Chloe; she was still a stunner, but time had left its mark.

But he still loved her.

He leaned back in his seat like her, his hand finding hers, gently stroking.

He said, "Charlotte called me. She filled me in on some stuff about you from the past few years."

Some things were hard to say.

Chloe was born into wealth. If she hadn't fallen for him, she might never have had to suffer. All her hardships were because of him.

Chloe tried to pull her hand back, but he wouldn't let go.

He gently wiped away her tears, saying softly, "I called off my engagement because I was afraid you'd be upset."

Her heart skipped a beat, but she stayed silent.

Andrew didn't explain much more. He just took this rare chance to gently hold her shoulder.

Their son was already a few years old, but the time they had truly been together was only about half a year, and even then, they were living apart.

He felt sorry for her.

But looking back, he felt he had no other choice.

That night, Frederick got Lola to sleep.

Back in the bedroom, Charlotte had just finished her bath, her whole body soft and relaxed. She sat at the vanity applying skincare products. He couldn't resist going over and hugging her waist from behind, whispering, "Finally, some alone time."

Charlotte leaned on his shoulder, meeting his gaze in the mirror.

Their eyes locked.

Frederick leaned in and kissed her gently.

Charlotte was a bit taken aback, but she relaxed and kissed him back. He seemed a bit emotional, and she naturally settled on his lap, kissing his chin.

Frederick paused.

But his hand still lingered on her waist, his gaze intense. "Charlotte, we need to talk."

Charlotte knew he wanted to.

But since he didn't make the first move, she was too shy to push it. She leaned into his arms and softly hummed, then heard him mention Tina.

It had been ages since she heard Tina's name!

Frederick gently stroked her hair, saying softly, "If you don't wanna go to the class reunion, then don't. No need to stress."

On a night like this, their conversation was pretty intimate.

Charlotte just lay on his shoulder. She spoke softly, "She's the one who messed up. Why should I hide at home?"

After the incident, she had always kept her cool.

She wanted to avoid it because any woman would feel embarrassed if others knew about their bedroom matters. But Charlotte wasn't just herself; she was also a mom.

She could hide, but Lola still had to go to school, and so would Kingsley in the future.

So no matter how tough it was, she had to face it.

Her voice was soft. "Besides, I have you."

Frederick was touched. He couldn't help but kiss her face, then moved to her lips, his voice muffled. "Charlotte, you still trust me, right? We're not that bad off, are we?"

His words were filled with a longing for love.

Charlotte knew it. She let him kiss her.

She thought that one of them had to stay sane.

She tilted her face up and softly hummed.

She was wearing a champagne-colored silk nightgown. He had always loved her body. Tonight she was so soft. How could he resist? Besides, he hadn't touched her for a month.

Frederick picked up Charlotte and carried her straight to the bed.

Her body sank into the soft mattress. He looked down at her, his voice hoarse. "Charlotte, let's try."

Charlotte gently closed her eyes.

Unlike usual, he didn't care about himself, just making her comfortable.

Charlotte found it hard to get into it, but he kept holding her face, softly asking how she felt. His thoughtfulness made Charlotte want to cry. Finally, she hugged his shoulders, whispering, "Frederick, I'm good for now."

She hoped he would finish quickly.

Frederick kissed her forehead, then licked the tears from the corners of her eyes. As her husband, he could notice her ture feelings. He comforted her for a long time, until Charlotte was about to fall asleep, then he gently got out of bed.

In the bathroom, the sound of running water could be heard.

Charlotte gently opened her eyes.

She turned to her side, resting her face on the pillow, listening to the hoarse sounds coming from the bathroom.

Saying she felt nothing would be a lie.

When a man was willing to endure for her, it showed how much he valued her.

Some things, Charlotte couldn't change, but she wanted to make him a little happier, at least a bit more normal.
