Chapter 395 The Bad Boy Get Her

Frederick let out a chuckle. "So, does Charlotte dig you or what?"

Landon kept his mouth shut.

He was always messing around, but now he had a thing for a married woman.

He used to play around with feelings, but when he got serious, he didn't know how to handle it.

Sitting in his car, he pulled out a smoke, stuck it between his lips, and stared at the snow outside, feeling all kinds of messed up.

After a bit, Frederick spoke up, "Landon, if this is eating you up, maybe you should back off from Tina's drama."

Landon's throat tightened. He forced out, "No need."

Frederick didn't push it and hung up. This was guy talk, and he figured Landon could handle his own mess.

Besides, this kinda problem shouldn't even be a thing.

Landon dropped his phone, his fingers shaking as he lit another cigarette.

Weird. Talking to Frederick, he felt chill, no jealousy. But he was jealous of Oliver.

Oliver couldn't have her either, but he still had a spot in her heart.

Landon finished his smoke.

He called up a well-known model.

After a few words, he drove to her place, and as soon as she opened the door, they were all over each other.

This was his life, he thought.

Charlotte was off-limits, not even a hint of affection.

After hooking up, he leaned against the headboard, smoking.

His phone rang; it was Tina.

Landon was fed up with her. He knew Tina wasn't just looking for fun; she wanted to marry into the Carter family.

He looked at the phone and sneered.

Did she think the Carter family was all that?

After a bit, he picked up. Tina's voice was all sweet, "Landon, you home? I made some food, and I'm downstairs. Can you come get it?"

Landon blew out smoke, laughing coldly, "I'm in someone else's bed."

Tina was shocked. She didn't expect him to be so blunt.

With the mission of getting close to her, Landon didn't want to make a mess of things. So he softened his tone, "We'll talk tomorrow if there's anything."

Then he hung up, thinking about his deal with Charlotte. His face darkened.

His mom got played by the Carter jerk; it took her five years to find out he was married.

That guy never planned to go public with them.

When his legitimate son died, he begged Landon to take over the family biz, but still didn't acknowledge Landon's mom, even though his wife had been dead for years.

Through Elizabeth, he got a shot to work with Charlotte.

What he couldn't get for his mom, Charlotte could.

Landon knew business was business, and catching feelings was a no-go, but he couldn't help it. Maybe in his messed-up world, he'd never seen someone as pure as Charlotte.

Thinking this, he finished his smoke and started getting dressed.

The model, fresh out of the shower, came out wrapped in a towel, looking all soft and tempting.

Seeing him about to leave, she clung to him, pouting, "You're leaving?"

Landon pushed her away.

He got out of bed, buckled his belt, then pinched her cheek and grinned. "Got another date!"

With that, he grabbed his keys and bounced.

The woman yelled, "Landon, you jerk!"

At the door, changing his shoes, he heard her.

A cold smile crept on his face. Of course, he was a jerk! With his rough background, hanging in bars since he was 15, it'd be weird if he wasn't.

Landon left her place and drove back to his.

Downstairs, a red sports car was parked. Tina was in it, scrolling on her phone.

Landon pulled up next to her, rolled down his window, and leaned out. "Still waiting for me?"

Tina glared at him.

He looked lazy, and she knew that was the post-hookup fatigue. She felt a twinge of jealousy and wasn't too happy. "I was just about to leave!"

She fired up her car, ready to bounce, kinda testing where she stood with him.

Landon leaned in and killed the engine.

He looked up, his eyes boring into hers. "You're pissed? You knew what you were getting into with me from the jump."

Tina was taken aback.

When Landon said that, he looked just like Ethan.

Before she knew it, she had her arms around his neck, kissing him.

Landon was aware of Tina's promiscuity.

But he'd seen all kinds of women over the years. It wasn't that he didn't care; he just didn't give a damn. So, while kissing her, he opened the car door and slid in.

A few minutes later, the sports car started rocking.

The window was cracked, and through the gap, you could see Tina's soft, alluring look and hear Landon's husky breathing.

Afterward, Tina lay in his arms.

Her fingers traced his chest as she whispered, "Landon, let's be together."

Landon didn't say a word. He reached over her, grabbed a pack of smokes, shook one out, and lit it.

Tina was hooked on his body. Maybe she just loved this kind of bad boy.

She told him, "I'm not just after your background, Landon. I'm serious!"

She also said she wanted to make him famous, to make his dad see him differently.

Landon listened, blowing out smoke rings.

He was a pro at playing women. He didn't say yes or no. The more he kept them guessing, the more they'd give him everything.

In the end, he left her with one line. "We'll see! But first, we need to gather the funds!"

Tina gently touched his handsome face, her voice raspy. "I have a few hundred million. If the info about this car race is legit, I'll invest most of it. I'm not scared of coming up short."

Landon smirked.

Tina knew he didn't care about that small change.

She didn't want to blow it all on him, but now she really wanted to lock him down.

She thought of Lily and Charlotte.

Maybe she needed to get on their good side to marry into the Carter family.

As Frederick hung up, he stared at his phone for a few seconds, hearing a car outside. Looked like Charlotte was back with the kids.

He glanced at Dana.

Dana nodded right away. "I won't tell Charlotte."

Frederick smiled and went out to greet Charlotte and the kids.

It was cold, and he was just in a sweater. When the car stopped, he opened the back door.

Charlotte got out and naturally asked, "Why are you wearing so little?"

Frederick's eyes were intense.

He brushed his fingers across her face, his touch warm.

Charlotte's face heated up, and she whispered, "Behave in front of the kids."

Frederick smiled again, bent down, and took Lola out of the car, kissing her cheek. "Lola, do I need to behave?"

Lola snuggled into Frederick's shoulder.

She hugged his neck and said in a clear voice, "Mommy is happy."

Charlotte blushed.

She held Johnny's little hand and walked quickly. Frederick, behind her, didn't forget to remind her, "Watch your step with the little one."

Charlotte ignored him.

Frederick, holding Lola, followed leisurely.

Lola said softly, "We saw Oliver at dinner today!"

Frederick squinted slightly. He asked casually, "Who else?"

"Brian and Sophie, and some flirty person I didn't know."

Frederick didn't ask more.

Once inside, Charlotte had already taken off her coat and called Lola to practice the piano.

Lola wanted to slack off a bit.

Charlotte was soft-hearted and didn't like to push her, but Frederick lightly tapped Johnny's head and said, "A girl who plays the piano is very elegant, right?"

"Yes," Johnny replied.

Lola immediately ran over to sit down, her back straight.

Charlotte felt pretty helpless.

After their bath, she sat at the vanity applying skincare products.

After a bath, her skin was the softest. Frederick, always passionate, would touch her for a long time every night, even if they didn't get it on.

He leaned in to gently smell her neck.
