Chapter 180 Let me tell you how much Charlotte has lost!

At the hospital, Charlotte lay quietly, and the doctors were stumped.

"Maria, your daughter has no physical issues, but her subconscious doesn't want to wake up. We just have to wait," the doctor said.

Lily supported Maria, who was anxious. "Is there no treatment?" Maria asked.

The doctor shook his head. "She's been emotionally unstable. Maybe rest is good for her."

Maria was still nervous, half-understanding.

Lily tried to comfort her. "It shouldn't be a big problem. Let's let Charlotte sleep for another day or two."

Maria nodded, tears in her eyes. She brought a basin of hot water and silently wiped Charlotte's hands.

Lily looked at Charlotte's slender fingers, her eyes stinging. Maria didn't know Charlotte could never be a pianist again.

Bradley came over with a prescription. "Why are you crying? Charlotte's just fine. Don't cry, sweetheart," he said softly.

Lily glanced at him. "I'm just feeling sad."

Bradley hugged her. He didn't mention seeing Robert at the pharmacy with Tina for a prenatal checkup, which made him feel sick. But it was also good; if Robert wasn't bad, he wouldn't have a chance.

Bradley comforted Maria. She knew he was Nicholas's cousin, so she felt uneasy.

Footsteps sounded at the door. Elijah and Audrey came in, looking unhappy, especially Audrey, who was worried because Katherine had been taken to the police station.

Maria coldly said, "Mr. Mitchell, why are you here? Do you think your daughter hasn't harmed Charlotte enough?"

Elijah stared at Charlotte, who lay quietly as if asleep.

Maria gave a bitter smile. "The doctor said she doesn't want to wake up. Mr. Mitchell, are you satisfied?"

Elijah was stunned. "I'll arrange for a doctor for her!"

Lily couldn't help but say, "Elijah, don't upset Charlotte by showing up. That would be the biggest help! No matter how famous you are, you're just the father of a criminal here!"

Audrey was unhappy. "Our Katherine was just in a bad mood. She didn't mean it!"

Lily sneered. "Being in a bad mood lets her frame people? Audrey, Katherine is bound to lose this lawsuit!"

Audrey held her status. "Charlotte holds a grudge because of Frederick, right? She didn't lose anything, so I don't know why she's being so dramatic!"

Elijah scolded, "Audrey!"

Audrey stopped talking, and Elijah softened his tone to Maria. "Charlotte is my biological daughter. Everyone at home knows, and my mother wants to meet her granddaughter! Maria, I hope you can persuade Charlotte to come back. I'll take her abroad for the best music training to make her a world-renowned musician!"

Charlotte inherited his talent. In this regard, Katherine couldn't compare to her!

Maria hesitated; she didn't want to delay Charlotte's future.

Lily couldn't hold back. "Elijah! You bastard!"

Elijah frowned.

Just then, Frederick walked in, having rushed over upon hearing Charlotte was hospitalized.

Audrey saw him and quickly said, "Frederick, look at Miss Russell's family. They're so rude! Charlotte grew up in such an environment; no wonder she's like this!"

She was trying to drive a wedge, eager to push Katherine back to Frederick.

Frederick gently pushed her hand away and looked at Lily.

Lily glanced at him, then at Elijah and Audrey, and sneered. "Perfect! You're all here!"

Bradley pulled her back. "Lily, stop talking!"

Lily, eyes full of tears, pushed Bradley away and choked out, "Why shouldn't I talk? Katherine is a lady, but doesn't anyone care about Charlotte? Mr. Russell and Maria raised her so well, not for these people to insult!"

She pointed at Elijah and sneered. "Elijah, you said you wanted to take Charlotte abroad to study music. Well, it's impossible! That night, Charlotte not only lost her dad but also injured her foot nerves. She can't drive anymore, and she can't become a top musician! She admired you since she was a child, Elijah. She could use her hands as flexibly as you. She inherited your talent, but because of your selfishness, she lost it! Elijah, because of your selfishness, Charlotte didn't get to see Mr. Russell one last time. Do you know how much she regrets it? Charlotte lost so much that night. What do you have to compensate her?"

Lily's lips trembled. "Tell me, what do you have to compensate her?"

Elijah's face turned pale. "What? She can't play the piano anymore!"

He was world-renowned and wanted a proud disciple. Katherine's talent was limited. When he found out Charlotte was his child, he was thrilled. He had seen videos of her playing the piano and knew she could be great with some polishing.

Elijah was in immense pain.

Frederick was equally shocked, his face tense, fists clenched. He remembered the last time he saw her, she said she would never go abroad for further study anymore. It wasn't because she had no dreams, but because her dreams were shattered. She couldn't even drive anymore.

Frederick spoke with difficulty, "I want to see her."

Lily's eyes were red. "Frederick, I think the last person Charlotte wants to see is you!"

Frederick never knew a sentence could hurt so much. It felt like a thorn piercing his heart, and he was powerless to pull it out.

He didn't force his way into the ward. He just looked at Charlotte through the crack in the door, watching her lie quietly, just as she used to lie in his arms.

Frederick's voice was hoarse. "At least, let me get an expert to see her."

Such a man rarely humbled himself, but at this moment, he sincerely said to Lily, "I just want to make it up to her."

Lily had a strong personality.

Bradley held her back. "Don't be willful. The most important thing now is for her to wake up."

When he spoke to Frederick, he changed his tone and smiled. "Frederick, Lily is being unreasonable. I apologize on her behalf. Please take care of Charlotte."

Frederick didn't say anything. He just looked at Charlotte, hoping she would wake up, hoping to hold her in his arms again. He wanted to tell her to give him another chance, and he wouldn't let her down again.
