Chapter 120 Not for Kids

Finnegan wasn't particularly interested in Niamh's affairs, but Ophelia’s mention sparked his curiosity.

"Rumored boyfriend?" Finnegan, unaware he was the rumored boyfriend in question, inquired, "Who?"

"I don't know," shrugged Ophelia. "I'm curious, too. Whoever is courting a Parks Corporation heiress must be someone of substantial means. And isn’t it a coincidence that Miss Niamh and I share the same birthday? Ms. Parks even got me a pair of earrings as a gift."

"That is quite coincidental," Finnegan remarked. "Do you have any other plans for tomorrow?"

"Not really," replied Ophelia. "I'm off tomorrow."

"Day off, huh?" Finnegan's eyes twinkled with amusement, catching on to her implication. "Tomorrow, we'll go to church and offer prayers."

Ophelia looked surprised. "You believe in Jesus? What are you praying for? You're not lacking money."

"I need to give thanks," Finnegan Abbott said. "Since I was blessed with a girlfriend, it's only right to show gratitude."

Ophelia shifted into a cross-legged position and gazed at him intently, "Finnegan, with your prospects, you could find a better partner. If you were willing to marry, you could have a bunch of kids by now. Why would you need divine intervention to find someone, and why did you choose me?"

Finnegan looked into her eyes and seemed to consider for a moment. He ruffled her hair affectionately and said, "There's no real reason, but if there is one, it might be a debt from a past life."

Ophelia had slowly made her way into his life, imperceptibly, like water nourishes gently without sound. Being with her was relaxing and gradually became addictive.

Perhaps liking someone truly didn't need any reason, but if there was one, it might simply be because she was Ophelia.

Ophelia rolled her eyes and glanced at his hand. Every time he touched her head, she couldn't shake off the amusing feeling of a pet owner patting their dog.

Ophelia grabbed a piece of popcorn and nibbled on it, leaning on his shoulder as they continued binge-watching their latest TV drama.

Two people being together, it's all about chemistry—sometimes, you don't need a reason.

Ophelia casually asked, "When will your injury heal?"

"It will probably take another month," Finnegan replied. "The healing is slower than I anticipated. Why, are you getting impatient?"

Ophelia didn't catch on immediately, "Impatient for what?"

The corner of Finnegan's mouth curled into a smile loaded with meaning. "I know you're eager, but for your first time fully aware and conscious, a healthy body is needed for better stamina, to leave a good impression, to ensure a good experience."

This time, Ophelia understood instantly, her face turned bright red, and she glared at him, "Finnegan, what on earth is going on in that head of yours."

She turned back to the show, and as luck would have it, the plot had reached a heated kiss between the lead actors.

The male and female leads came back, and the man was in a hurry. As soon as they entered, he began undressing her, pressing her onto the couch for a fervent kiss, his hands exploring under her clothes, unfastening buttons...

At such moments, the camera typically panned down, shifting to a view from behind the couch, clothing tossed out from beneath, a mess of outer garments to shirts, and then underwear...

The camera then switched to the entangled feet of the lead characters.

Even without explicit footage, the insinuation was clear; viewers knew precisely what the couple was up to.

Entangled legs and the moans and gasps from the TV were enough to make one's blood race.

Ophelia bashfully covered her face. Goodness, what kind of show was this?

So embarrassing.

Had she known such scenes were coming, she never would have agreed to watch with Finnegan.

Ophelia's heart raced. She squinted at Finnegan, who seemed unperturbed. Quietly standing up, she feigned nonchalance and stifled a yawn, "I'm feeling sleepy, I'm going to head to bed."

No sooner had she stepped away than a force yanked her arm, and the next second, she found herself tumbling into Finnegan's embrace, seated on his lap.

Ophelia froze, her heart pounding as if it would leap out of her chest.

"Ophe."

He pressed his lips to hers, with a wildness surpassing the lead actor on the TV. The show had clearly stirred something in him.

Ophelia was nervous yet full of anticipation...

After boss's baby, she Escape
