Chapter 738 Feeling Guilty
Lily got what Finnegan was saying; his past losses made him appreciate things more.
She didn't reply and just looked at the stage.
Barbara held Tate's hand, showing their strong mother-daughter bond. Lily, who lost her mom early, also craved that kind of love and could relate to Ophelia.
With tears in her eyes, Barbara held Tate's hand tight and told the guests, "Eugene and I... we owe so much to our eldest daughter. Finding her, bringing our family back together... it's a true blessing."
Tate introduced herself gracefully, "Hello everyone, I'm Sandra."
From today, she was leaving her past as Tate behind and becoming Sandra, the Stewart family's eldest daughter.
Raymond, watching from the audience, felt proud of how elegant and poised she had become.
Landon, happy for the Stewart family, said, "Raymond, It seems fate wasn't done with you yet. After all this time, you found her."
Everyone knew Raymond joined the counter-terrorism unit to target Moonlight Gate and find Sandra.
After countless failures, he finally found her.
"She's a Stewart; she was always meant to find her way back to us," Raymond said with a smile.
Meanwhile, Eugene started speaking on stage. They had prepared childhood photos of Tate to help everyone get to know her.
Photos from her birth until the day she went missing were shown.
The big screen displayed a slideshow of Tate's childhood photos, which she was seeing for the first time.
Seeing her younger self, she felt a strange sensation.
Young Tate was chubby and cute. As she grew older, she lost some baby fat, and by age five, her features showed the promise of future beauty.
In every photo, young Tate was dressed beautifully, always in pretty dresses, looking like a little princess.
Young Tate was cheerful and always smiling.
Memories before age five were forgotten after she entered Moonlight Gate, where harsh training erased her smile.
The slideshow ended with a photo from the day Tate went missing. Karen was stunned.
'Why isn't there a photo of Tate after she was released from prison? I switched the photos, so why isn't it there?' Karen thought.
She couldn't understand but felt guilty and scared. Had her actions been discovered?
Karen also wondered why Tate's dress hadn't malfunctioned yet.
Eugene and Barbara finished their speeches and invited everyone to start the meal. Barbara led Tate off the stage to introduce her to the Stewart family relatives.
Barbara smiled and said, "Tate, this is your Aunt Donna."
Tate greeted politely, "Hello, Aunt Donna."
Donna, pleasantly surprised, smiled and said, "Tate is so beautiful. She was a lovely child. You've suffered so much over the years. Here, take this gift; it's a small token from me."
Donna, though married far away and not often returning, still cared deeply for her family.
"Thank you," Tate said, accepting the gift without hesitation.
Next was Jared.
Eugene introduced, "Tate, this is your Uncle Jared."
"Hello, Uncle Jared," Tate greeted.
Jared immediately handed over a gift, smiling and praising, "Eugene, both your daughters, just as charming and well-behaved as can be."
What made people most envious was that the Stewart family had Raymond.
With Raymond, the Stewart family had the strongest backing.
"Thank you, Uncle Jared," Tate said happily. She had gifts, family, and relatives; it was lively.
Karen glanced at the zipper of Tate's dress, wondering why it hadn't malfunctioned yet.
Just then, a relative said, "Barbara, Karen mentioned earlier that Tate was trafficked to a mountainous area. How did she survive all these years? It's so pitiful."
