Chapter 747 Everyone Suspected

Finnegan didn't answer Lynn; he didn't know what to say.

He couldn't bring himself to divorce Ophelia. From the moment they got married, divorce never crossed his mind.

Finnegan believed not all problems needed divorce to be solved.

To him, there were only two reasons not to divorce: weighing the pros and cons or love.

For Finnegan, it was love. He loved Ophelia and didn't want to give up.

Lynn didn't press further and left after a while.

Instead of Celia, Jude showed up, making Finnegan realize Celia hadn't been on a date with Jude.

Warmie needed a nap after lunch. Once she was asleep, Finnegan told Jude to watch her and planned to leave.

"Whoa, Finn, where ya goin'?" Jude interrupted. "You really gonna ditch your adorable little girl like that?"

Even Jude, usually oblivious, noticed something was off with Finnegan lately. Warmie had been at the Abbott estate for a while, and Jude sensed something was wrong.

"Warmie's my girl, I wouldn't ditch her," Finnegan insisted. "Just gotta take care of something."

Jude hesitated. "Alright, man, but listen... This past year, you've been off. Ophelia comin' back, the whole thing... it's messed with the whole family, y'know?"

The house felt lifeless, and without Warmie, it would be even more depressing.

Finnegan said nothing and left. He went home, packed, and prepared to go to Oceanview City. Something was pulling him there.

As he was about to leave, Wilder arrived. He had called Lily but, after not seeing Ophelia for a while and getting no answer, came to Finnegan's place.

Seeing Wilder, Finnegan said, "Dad."

He was surprised; Wilder rarely visited. This was probably the second time.

"I'm here to find Ophelia," Wilder said. "She hasn't been home for a while. What's she busy with? She hasn't answered my calls."

Wilder was worried something had happened to Ophelia. Despite having a family in France, Dovie and Ophelia were his real family.

Wilder couldn't bear losing Ophelia.

"Ophelia isn't home. Took off with Grandma to Oceanview City this morning. I was actually about to head that way myself. Maybe she couldn't answer your calls on the plane or something."

"Oceanview City? Why'd she go there?" Wilder was worried. "Her health's been iffy lately. That humidity and temperature change could really mess her up."

This reminded Finnegan of something. "Dad, does anyone in your family have heart disease?"

Lily had heart surgery, but she hadn't explained why. The doctor said it was either family history or congenital.

Ophelia's heart was healthy, so Finnegan wanted to know if there was a family history on Wilder's side.

Wilder denied it. "No, no one in the family has heart disease. Why are you asking?"

"No one?"

Finnegan was shocked. 'Then why did Lily have heart surgery?' he thought.

"But Ophelia had heart surgery. She's still on anti-rejection meds. The surgery was after the shipwreck, during her time in Oceanview City."

"Ophelia had heart surgery?" Wilder was shocked. "How is her health now?"

Finnegan was more concerned about why she had the surgery. He recalled Celia saying the current Ophelia didn't seem like Ophelia.

'Could this Lily not be Ophelia?' he thought.

But the birthmark on her waist was right, and everything else made sense. So what was the problem?

Finnegan began to doubt. He doubted not only Lily's identity but also himself.

At that moment, Finnegan felt the world was fake. Since Ophelia's accident, he couldn't see things clearly anymore.

Like Finnegan, Tate felt something was off with Lily at the homecoming party. Today, she called Caspian to ask about some details.

After boss's baby, she Escape
